33 right now...high in the upper 30's. Forecast is for 5-8 inches of snow...or, 6-12...depends on which one you want to believe. I hope it's the lower prediction. This one is going to be wet and heavy...:(

I tried going out without a jacket again this morning and soon cut the walk with Max short, the wind is just a little too searching.

Bups, it's good that you have a doctor you have lots of confidence in. As part of taking it steady, maybe limit your plinking this year to a .22, instead of the .700 Nitro Express ;)

Drew, to be told you have Meniere's on top of your other aches and pains must be a blow. It is not something I am familiar with, I've had to do some reading this morning to find out more. Much of the advice talked about not moving the head quickly. You are an expert at being kind to your neck, so that's one big part of living with it that you already have mastered. Hope you have fun experimenting with lots of new recipes and also on the plus side - you are much less likely to ever get troubled with noisy neighbours :)

Just a little more winter for you Roy, go slowly and safely in that wet snow.
Here it's 47 going to 58 in bright sun, and a lot of wind, 20-30mph predicted all day.
Was hoping to burn the burn pile but not today. At least the wind will dry out the last of the lawn lakes.

Have some errands to run this morning, trip to drug store for a variety of things, and then home to work outside. Hope the dealer finally shows up with my new three point stabilizers today.

so if I were to ditch my conventional toaster oven for an air fryer/toaster oven, that isn't the size of the original Amana Radar Range, any suggestions? I don't have a lot of counter space so size is important. Do the combo units work as well as more single function air fryers?
Interesting that not one air fryer on Amazon is made by a company whose name I recognize, clearly all Chinese. Of course name brands come from there too. Changed oil on Kubota RTV 400 a few days ago and oem Kubota oil filter made in China.

Another large Chinese chemical company blew up yesterday with large loss of life. Happens with frequency, videos on YouTube are remarkable. Lack of safety standards blamed, no surprise. I never liked leaving the house with the old fashioned crock pot running, so I have concerns over fire safety on these things. Of course these air fryers are fast cookers not slow, right? Sure would be nice to make my own French fries from my own potatoes. Using a salt substitute now.

Mostly, during the summer when I sweat through two sets of clothes a day, I have to use some salt. Though now I'll be reading the labels on those sports drinks for sodium content.

30 is the temp now and the high is to be 27 °F. Wind NNW 15 gusting to 22 mph. Snowing as I type.

We've got about a half inch of snow so far and it is supposed to snow all day. The guessers are saying 2 cm/less that 1 inch. I will need to scrape all the honey combed ice and slop off the driveway today anyway. This snow just makes it easier to see where I have been.

The DIL wants me to chop 6" off her metal bed frame legs. That is the job for today.

Have a safe day all

Good morning! Got the e-mail from the president of the Gardens. Work for the plant sale starts today with setting up everything and putting out signs. I have my signs and list, they can only be put out a day in advance of the event and taken down at the end of the event. A good rule - the neighborhood is not littered with signs.

My garden is about 3/4 full and the drip automatic irrigation is in place. It should be watering right about now.

Looking4new, does DIL know that no only will she be loosing storage space but the vacuum may no longer fit?

Coffee is done brewing. 34° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 40° with a slight chance of snow showers in am. Got fenders wired up yesterday. Shopping trip to Menards, Sam's Club and HF this morning. Hope to get fenders mounted and wired to day. Snow piles a hinging on here. Maybe Sunday's forecast 50° will get rid of them.

Drew, hope the diet works. One of the multi use ovens will get rid of toaster, mini oven and add a AF. All in one unit.

Buppies, take care of that arm. Healing takes a long time.

Another South TX bird, Kiskadee, generally only found in the Lower Rio Grande Valley and further south.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning!!!! 47F @ 4:15AM. Cloudy with rain developing this afternoon. High around 55F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch.

Run into town for groceries and recycle a load of oil, couple of other stops, probably get wet along the way.

Spent some quality time under the van yesterday installing a new driveshaft decoupler. Mechanic lost the original VW electrical connector, but I was able to scrounge something together to work. Hopefully he has left over gear oil; the transaxle housing was down my more than a quart. I'll also pick up the old wheels and tires that were left there, hopefully he hasn't lost those as well.

I was diagnosed with a torn rotator cuff last year as well, Buppies. I was told surgery was a last resort, and have spent most of the last year trying not to do the things that aggravate it. It is better, but I suppose I really should talk to an ortho doc and see what my real options are. It would be nice to be able to sleep on that side again. The reason I haven't is that there don't seem to be any good ones in this area, at least not ones that have a good reputation. It's very fortunate you have that going for you.

I was wondering about the same thing with the DILs short legs, Don.

TGIF gang!:drink:

Mostly is correct about low sodium, cost me 3 days in the hospital and 6 months of illness in 2013-14. Felt like I had the flu every day.
I have chronic hyponatremia and have to eat more salt than RDA.

Our AF is the Power Air Fryer XL. We use it for something almost every day, sometimes multiple times per day.

I really like the newer Power Air Fryer Oven with built in rotisserie.

Maybe a great sale soon.
Unlike the instant pot, my wife is interested in an air fryer. Wants to make french fries.

Under 2000mg a day,

There have been several post of Drew getting too little sodium. 2000mg is actually higher than the recommended daily amount for seniors which is 1500mg per day.
For all people the UK recommended amount is 1600mg and Canada is between 1200 and 1500mg. The US FDA if you don't fall into a special group is 2,300mg a day should be your max.

Looking4new, does DIL know that no only will she be loosing storage space but the vacuum may no longer fit?

Yup she does. Her short legs make it almost impossible to get into the bed without a stool. She will find out. It is her bed and she bought it.
I suggested she throw the mattress on the floor. She didn't like that idea much. So we cut the legs off instead.

We make FF (no oil) about 3-4 times a week. We also cut potatoes up in little squares, air fry them, and put them in Mexican dishes. With no oil they have to be turned once during the cycle and some might stick a little bit but it's better than all those empty fat calories.
