There have been several post of Drew getting too little sodium. 2000mg is actually higher than the recommended daily amount for seniors which is 1500mg per day.
For all people the UK recommended amount is 1600mg and Canada is between 1200 and 1500mg. The US FDA if you don't fall into a special group is 2,300mg a day should be your max.

Does 'salty' language count?:D

Good morning! Got the e-mail from the president of the Gardens. Work for the plant sale starts today with setting up everything and putting out signs. I have my signs and list, they can only be put out a day in advance of the event and taken down at the end of the event. A good rule - the neighborhood is not littered with signs.

My garden is about 3/4 full and the drip automatic irrigation is in place. It should be watering right about now.

Looking4new, does DIL know that no only will she be loosing storage space but the vacuum may no longer fit?

What is their policy on political campaign signs Don?

50°F here and very foggy. High forecast to be 79°F this afternoon.

I was getting ready to spray fence lines yesterday when they guy that does maintenance on our well site came over and told me they had some extra road material I could have. Couldn't turn that down so, hooked up the bucket and grader plane to the 55 hp tractor and got busy. I started stockpiling material (limestone fill) near my small shop. One of the well site guys got on another tractor and helped me move the material.

IMG_0504.jpg

I have a road going from my workshop to the horse barn that I started about 18 months ago so will use a good deal of the material to build that up and improve drainage during heavy rain.

IMG_0508.jpg

I only used about 2/3 of the material so, after predicted rain this weekend, I'll repack it with tractor and add material as needed.

IMG_0505.jpg

Yard is now firm enough to use tractor and grapple to retrieve about a dozen piles of tree limbs, trimmed last fall, and add to one of my burn piles. Looks like fence line spraying will wait until after rain.

Hope everyone has an excellent Friday.

Prayers to all.

44 and clearing after 2.2 inches of rain...going to 57.

Have a safe trip, BEF, and enjoy time with your dad.

Prayers for those with ailments.

Don, does a person's size play into salt intake? I always wonder about these standards like on food labels with % of daily required, or % daily max since no distinction between women and men, or size...seems some would be getting more than they should based on using the averages, but others might be not getting enough.

My NCAA bracket looks rough after last night, but the good news is that I had not picked any of my losers to win in the next round, so I'm still alive in all remaining games.

Roasted 3 coffees yesterday during the rainstorm on my old roaster...I learned from the UPS delivery man that he drinks specialty coffee, so I roasted him a couple of types and had them ready when he arrived about 5pm with my new roaster...set it up and did 2 of the 5 required seasoning roasts before running out of time. More planned for today.

That road looks real good. I grappled some limbs earlier this week, but now after 2 days of rain, the tractor is back to being "banished" to the little barn until dry out.

Yep, all that time saved by using your grapple gets eaten up in time repairing ruts.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

Today’s low is the current 34ºF; today’s high might be the 36ºF at midnight. 1” of fresh slush so far this morning. It looks like tonight’s/tomorrow’s nor’easter could possibly drop 1”- 8”. I am guessing 5”- 6” for around here. The NWS has issued a Winter Weather Advisory starting this morning. A nasty day to drive to the “Big City” for my insulin syringes. I needed a new script with my new PCP and started this process over a week ago. I received a wide range of legitimate excuses.

Farmer- I hope the medication route works. I need to have regular nerve studies. I hope you can avoid the tests.

BEF- I wish your Dad a Happy Birthday. I love to see, hear, read about active 90 year old individuals. I hope he make +100 healthy years.

Drew- I am sorry to read about the Meniere’s Disease. One can successful eliminate salt in most foods w/o affecting taste. Quitting pizza would be hard for me. My wife makes a whole wheat pizza dough with very little salt. I make the sauce w/o salt. I also make “pizzas” using portabella mushroom caps instead of dough. We are both package label readers. Sugar and salt is hidden in almost everything. Good luck with the salt. …. - I like to cook so I guess this is something new to learn- I love to cook; replacing salt and finding alternative spicing is part of the fun.

Rick & David- Thanks for the info.

RonJH- Thanks for the Kiskadee picture. I’ve seen them in CR.

I hope Ted is on the mend.

I hope everyone is having a manageable day and anticipates a decent weekend.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Good morning all,

33 this morning and snowing lightly. Supposed to snow until Sunday, maybe only 6" though.

I'm out of firewood and debating on getting more. I have lots at my brother's place a few miles away. I keep thinking/hoping it'll warm up. But it just stays around 10-35 degrees.:confused3: I guess until the snow on the ground melts it's not going to warm up to much.

Prayers for those in need and good wishes for all.

The low this morning is 27°, it was cloudy yesterday and in the mid 30's. We got a light dusting of snow overnight less then a inch. Today will be back in the upper 30's with some sun in the afternoon. It looks like the first part of next week will be in the mid to upper 40's.

Not much going on today. I'll see if I can find something to keep me busy in the shop.

Hope everyone get a good start to the weekend.
CWB.

Good morning to all! Low of 32, light frost on everything. No big rain happened like they forecasted, only a trace of moisture in the gauge. The "big day of rain" forecasted for today has now disappeared to the east, only a slight 10-20% chance. Oh well.... The weekend is supposed to be sunny and warm, up to the low 60's.

I didn't have as much nasal congestion this morning, no sore throat, but the cough remains. I think getting better. We'll see how the day goes.

Happy birthday to BEF's dad!

Drew, sorry to read about your diagnosis, hope you can keep it in check by simple means.

David, I dislike having coming from the PO with a handful of notices such as what you received. Why is it they all appear at the same time?

Jay, I hope you don't get too much snow....just when you were allowed to be more mobile.... Be careful going to the city!

Buppies, make sure you baby that shoulder....gonna be tough to make it through to December! Take care.

Everyone has a nice Friday and a great weekend! Prayer sent out.

Ted- I hope you continue to shake this upper respiratory illness. Mr. Knee is now at 30º flexion. I wish I could figure out what gets Mr Knee complaining at night; barometric pressure changes, humidity changes. It was really blowing here last night between the wind gusts and driving rain; did not help already impaired sleep.

It's been snowing here all morning but is not really accumulating (yet). The road looks slushy wet, but there is traffic. I am really not happy about this syringe run to the Big City. I still can not drive; I can barely get in the passenger front seat. We might as well make the best of it and go out to lunch and restock supplies.

At this point I do not want any more snow.

36°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 59° today.

Rough week at work this week. Going to have to spend some time here on Saturday to get some things straightened out with no interruptions. That's going to seriously cut into my planned seat time for this weekend. Ground it finally getting firm enough to get the tractor out of the barn, but it's supposed to rain here again on Sunday. (grumbling)

Wife is going to help a friend with a sewing project on Sunday, so that'll leave me at home alone on a rainy day. I foresee a solid studio day in my near future.

What you should do is get your blood work done and maintain your sodium level between 135-145, mine was 123 at one point, I couldn’t even hold a pencil to write.

63°F and .26 inches rain, still coming down.

Wife is celebrating Double 6’s today, making her officially retired. Likely take her out to dinnener tonight and most anything else she may want this special day. Off to breakfast in Hilo, some errands. Need to pickup UTF for the filter repair tomorrow.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

You are special.
How many milligrams of sodium do you have to consume a day to keep your levels normal? How do you monitor your levels on a daily or weekly basis?

None in common areas and size and number restricted in your yard. Only 60(or90) days before election and none after election.

Happy Birthday Sophie!!!!! I wish you many more healthy and happy trips around the sun. I hope David takes you to a nice restaurant.

We are back from the run down to the "Big City" and took advantage of lunch where they make really decent Clam Chowder, Lobster Bisque, and Lobster Rolls considering the location this far from the coast. Not exactly health food today. I actually prefer water based seafood soups, stews, and chowders to the cream/milk based.

We are currently in this system's dry slot and the sun is trying to make its presence known, awaiting the system's comma head and snow later tonight

Despite the pending weather there will be fire tonight in the Big Green Egg. Grilled chicken breasts (bone in and with skin), and grilled asparagus tonight. Maybe quinoa or couscous; I got plenty of time to decide. Leftover chicken will end up in some stir fry dish with veggies and with baked spiced tofu on the side. I plan on switching over to salt free soy sauce when I run out.

The BGE is hurting.:(. It may be going to backup/overflow status later this Spring.

The psycho-politics of HOA'S is secretive, draconian and cutthroat in nature. Don- watch your back;)
