Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #90,841
Along with Drews hospital billing issues, one of my drs practices recently got absorbed by a larger company. They used to call me before every procedure demanding i pay $500 up front. I checked with my insurance, they said i only have to pay a copay up front, and mine was $0 unless the dr had requested a pre determination of cost, but they hadnt. So i called back and said, guess what, my insurance says i pay nothing until you bill them after the procedure, then they will determine my cost......

They tried again, and i reminded them again. No more calls after that.

Well, boys are flying back to school. Flight was over hr late leaving.

One of their classmates was critically injured in an auto accident on their way home for spring break, and died yesterday. That family had an awful spring break. I pray for everyones safety in travel.

Wife and i ate some texmex after dropping them off at airport. Ate too much.

Working on cloning computer harddrive. Ran out of space, already had a replacement drive.

44ー and sunny.

Sorry to hear about their classmate. How awful. I'm a helicopter dad, and I don't have a clue how I'm ever going to not be a helicopter dad. I was giving a talk to my 13 y o daughter about drugs, and peer groups trying to get you to try them, and how stupid some kids act down on the beaches for spring break....

I'm all for transparent medical charging. Shopping around for things, like my abdomen ultrasound I still need....

Happy belated birthday Drew 69 wow

Kyle happy birthday to your son. Glad the tire lasted for you

Long day just got home but sons bride to be had fun and that痴 what counts

Thanks Buppies, and glad they had fun.

8 and going to a forecast high of 27 °F. Wind NNW 11 mph. Mostly sunny.

Cool nights and almost up to freezing days with a little breeze and lots of sunshine will slow the melt down. This is a good thing for those of us with basements.

The local auto-parts store burned down the other day, I wonder if they are going to have a 'fire sale'? No loss of life, just 'stuff'.

An energy conservation day today.

Have a good day all

Just the odd shower expected today and wind dropping right down to 10mph at last.

Replaced some 4" fence posts yesterday that had been put in only 3 or at the most 4 years ago. In a sense I had to agree that the pathetic excuse for a wood preserver was to a certain extent "sustainable" - they had rotted so completely, all the staples pulled out dead easy and were hammered back into the new posts.

Kyle, nice to see your spring in full bloom. Our first blossom has long gone, only a few windswept daffodils have dared to show themselves since.

Some of you must have a different version of corned beef to what I know if you can boil it. Here it tends to refer to tiny pieces of salted brisket, mashed up with lots of fat and squeezed into a tin can. Not something I eat nowadays, though we had a lot of it when I was young and was always fascinated to see how it kept it's shape when pushed out of the tin.

good morning all. Enjoying first cup of half decaf coffee. Well, it's coffee...
Eric, your description of corned beef sounds like a version of Spam, talk about fat grams in your food...

Right at freezing mark this morning, not worried about veggies but more the annual flowers I've planted. Looks like a slow warmup from here on out.

Kyle, sounds like you had great fun with your daughter in the garden, quality time with kids.
So many things today to learn about, the just saying no types. I think social media has amped up peer pressure even more.

Lots of calls to make this morning, starting with a fix for that mower. Ron, flipping the piece around does nothing, the pins are already on the outside. One could conceivably put in 8-10 inch pins to make it all work but I wonder how durable that would be. This should be a common issue for dealer. Technically I could install the mower and only have one side hooked up to lateral tensioners, hardware is beefy enough but just not going to run it that way. The Bush Hog equivalent has the identical arrangement, just with a double end to it; i.e. an extra wide arrangement that handles both cat one and two. My Everything Attachments blade and rake have that, actually most of my implements do, have always tried to size them for "moving up". So hopefully Land Pride makes an alternative piece I can slide in there which curves to the outside about four inches. LP marketing clearly says Cat 1 only for the mower but am hoping there is a properly engineered fix.

Other calls are to ENT to get a predetermination on cost of fancy hearing/vertigo test on Thursday. Not going to walk into that appointment, sit in exam chair, and have them hand me a piece of paper I have to sign immediately, without any chance to read it, saying I am financially responsible for test. No, you tell me upfront if my insurance won't cover it, no last minute or post test surprises.
It's like playing financial Russian Roulette and no one is comfortable with that.

LS hows the knee any improvement

   / Good morning!!!! #90,852
Jay if I remember correctly your knee is doing better I certainly hope so. Weather is boring in my neck of the woods and I fear lots of the three hs this summer

33 going to 51 and maybe short showers.

Jay, sorry your orthopedic report wasn't what you wanted to hear.

Ron, sorry the coyote has found your backyard paradise.

Mostly, I bet you meeting your wife on Saint Patrick's day is a good story.

Kyle, I like the way you are raising your kids.

Never tried to start a fire top down...I might restart the woodstove just to try. I also never split kindling...seems the splitter always make enough scraps that by the end of the season I pick enough to fill a couple of boxes for the next year...and if I need more, always enough dead small branches falling off the maples.

Buppies, like you I was in Virginia Beach yesterday...family gathering...niece and 2nd cousin both having babies soon. But I must have left on I-64 at a different time because for once it was smooth sailing. Did you see all the festivities for the Shamrock Marathon?

I de-constructed one of those $7.99 mini-dollies from HF Saturday. I was actually impressed with the overall product. I cannibalized the wheels, hardware, and hardwood boards to recut and drill and attach to the underside of my coffee roasting cart. I'm getting a much heavier roaster and needed to replace the little plastic wheels that came on the cart. It rolls much better. Using the dolly parts was cheaper than buying 4 wheels and hardware and I have two short carpeted boards leftover :).

Drinking first cup of coffee. 27° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 42° with mostly sunny skies. Finally got all tree limbs picked up in front yard. Worked on fender project. Getting ready to put some paint on cleanup areas. Found a 4" chimney liner on Facebook Marketplace. New $50. Another item on my to do list. Only thing on my list today is trailer fenders.

Kyle, wish your son Happy belated Birthday from Betty and I.

Drew, my BCBS supplemental ( C ) covers all my test and Dr. visits. But I do have to play the game of "You Have To Do This Before You Can Get This Test". So far all my Dr. have checked to make sure procedures covered before doing them.

Drew, I modified my Quick Hitch to work on FEL. Allows me to use 3pt attachments on FEL when I have BH on. I think you could modify yours to work on Cat 2 tractor. Not sure how it would hold up to added HP.

Hope all those healing continue.

Prayers for all.

Got this good morning Ring from a Sparrow at my feeder camera yesterday morning.

Good Morning All.

great pic Ron and thanks for info. LP quick hitch is likely strong enough, but definitely would need some fabrication work.
Here is a pic of the mower issue.

40 degrees this morning, going for a sunny high of 68. Yesterday morning, I did the first complete yard mowing, edging, and trimming of the year. I also removed the winter covers from the outdoor water hydrants. After I finished and got a shower, my wife wanted to go out to eat, so we did that. And on the way home, we saw our first bluebonnets of the year. I guess Spring has sprung.

I hope our chicken raising Farmer is doing ok. Haven't heard from him, hope all is well.

Wingsprd, do you have a recommendation on decaf coffee beans? Should I be looking for water process?

Another example of something that's supposedly good for the environment, or at least better for it, that doesn't work. Folks that come up with this crap should be the ones made to dig out the rotted posts!:muttering:

That's pure genius, Wng! There's a bin I mounted on wheels under the workbench, full of wood scraps and somewhat heavy. One of the wheels is wonky, and fights me every time I roll it in or out. There's also one of those HF mini-dollies in another corner, purchased years ago to roll around a motorcycle from which the front end had been removed. Its wheels will find a new home shortly, I'm thinking. Thanks!
