Good morning all,

Looks like 13 degrees this morning with partly cloudy skies and no wind.

sodamo,
You have a beautiful place there. I guess you don't have to try to hard.....it is Hawaii after all.

35 degrees this morning going for a sunny 63 and almost no breeze so far.

And I'll admit to never hearing of starting a fire TOP DOWN until this thread; always started at the bottom.

Lou, good idea about the quick hitch; we hauled my LP quick hitch out and sure enough it was too narrow by the same amount, 30 inch spacing.
I'm really hoping LP makes an optional set of lower mower attachments, they are only held on by two pins, easy to take off and on, so would be super easy to just pop in a wider set. Maybe...otherwise, yes, to save the mower I'd have to fab up a wider mount.
Massey lower arms do not have the same amount of side to side adjustment as my last Kubota, much larger frame tractor, like yours and just makes the Cat 1 stuff look small.

Ron, thanks for info, hard to believe Medicare/part B would pay that much for a MRI. Half an hour for 6 grand. hard to fathom.

Sliced up some blue seed potatoes this morning, found a small supply at Lowes, which had eyes six inches long. I cut off the long eyes to about an inch from the potato and will plant those separately. Will be interesting to see if they will grow without a potato attached. This is for my red, white and blue potato salad.

Happy Birthday Phil. I turned 69 a few days ago, haven't felt well enough to be celebratory about this, but frankly surprised I made it this far.

off to plant potatoes in a quiet spot.

Working on my antique settee, got it webbed up and ready for padding. Then I painted some Sheppard’s hooks. Gotta get the vinyl top on Ellen’s El Camino before show season. View attachment 595977View attachment 595978

Fancy antique there. Looks like it's been recovered multiple times. I wish I had a thimbleful of your upholstery knowledge.

51 and breezy, much cooler than yesterday. Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler yet, before warming a bit next week.
Went to Panera Bread this morning, ordered sausage, egg and cheese on Farmstyle bread. The egg was way over easy, as in not cooked, I didn’t order over easy to begin. I went to the counter and showed them, she said you have to tell the clerk, I wasn’t given any options and never knew a place that defaults to over easy. So they made it over, I got ham, scrambled eggs and some kind of bread that tasted like a shoe box, and it tasted like garlic. The whole thing was dry as heck. I didn’t argue, I just won’t go back. Rant over.

We are headed to Front Royal in the morning for my oldest grandson’s birthday, he is going to be 10. My late wife lived for those three grandsons, I hate that she is missing them growing up.

Good day and God’s blessings on you.

WAIT! Turn around! You forgot the $2/apiece cookies....

Happy belated Birthday Phil !!!.

Happy Birthday Phil...Belated but sincere. Hope you had a good one.

Yesterday I came across a rather large manzanita in the pile of downed trees. Manzanitas are usually no more than six inches in diameter, more like bushes than trees. But this one, holy smokes, it was easily twenty feet tall as well! As I cut the root ball off, I couldn't resist taking another cut for a slab that might someday get the additional attention needed to turn it into a trivit. It is a very hard, dense wood, much more so than oak, with a color similar to redwood. Maybe I shouldn't have sawn that trunk up for firewood, and instead made boards out of it?:confused3:

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend!

Maybe they could make acoustic guitars with it??? I know Koa wood is desired by some.

Today is my youngest's birthday! He's a whopping 9 years old and a St. Patty's day baby. We took him and 3 of his school friends to a trampoline complex. They had a lot of jumping fun.

I took my oldest daughter to work with me on Friday. We pulled the trailer over to College Station and bought about 2 cu yards of 3/4 mushroom compost mixed with 1/4 sandy loam. Quite smelly.

On the way home, about 17 miles to go, one of the trailer's tires started de-laminating. Those last miles have Zero gas stations or places you could hope to fix it, and no shoulder to pull over on. It was a 10 ply trailer tire and I just continued on at a slow 35 mph with the flashers blinking. Kind of slow in a 75mph zone, and traffic was worse than usual. Saying many prayers, we made it home. Time for new trailer tires.

We are all wearing some green today, and about to head to church.

Have a blessed day all.

Happy St Pattys Day
64°F and 0 rain
Hope to get Top N Tilt reinstalled today, mount the landscape rake and get some cleanup.

Corned beef and cabbage in the instant pot for later also a chicken version for our friend who doesn’t eat 4 legged meat when they come for cards and dinner this afternoon.

Thanks for the diesel additive info. I’m also installing a panel to keep direct sunlight off the tanks.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
