The chickens came out great! Actually falling off the bone! Did a 'Tennessee sweet sauce' for the glaze. That was a stick of sweet cream butter (unsalted), two tablespoons of raw honey, and two tablespoons of KC masterpiece hickory BBQ sauce. Melt and mix together, pour over the chicken. Sprinkle with basil, garlic powder, little bit of white pepper. Baste about every 45 min to an hour.

They were large chickens (about 6 lbs), smoked them at 205 degrees for 6 hours with hickory chips. Veggies were in a separate pan.

Looks almost too good to eat...almost :)...glaze sounds good.

Got the seat time in today, albeit only about 45 minutes clearing the few drifts from the drive. Just as I was finishing, the neighbor was driving by and stopped. He said he was going to pick up his 12 y/o daughter, and there was a dead cat laying in the road in front of my next door neighbors. He asked if I would go scoop it up and "take care of it" before he came back with her in 10 minutes....so she wouldn't get upset. Okay.... So I went, scooped it up, drove to the back of the 5 acres, dug a quick hole with the backhoe, and buried it.

It was a stray, black with white paws. We have been seeing it around the place for about a month. A shame it died. Then, about an hour later, we were on the back deck tending to the chickens in the smoker. I see a black cat with white paws come around the corner and dash across the corral ! Freaked me out ! I know that the one I buried was definitely dead... Stiff as a board....they must have been siblings!

Roy, good news about Suzette coming home.

Eric, sounds like a great project. I remember the nice stuff RS built.

LS, glad your winds have died down...ours are just about shaking the house right now...but we never got to the 73 predicted...only 61...but that was enough for the crocus and buttercups to bloom, and the peepers to sing...at least the rain stopped and the sky was blue again. Still a lot of standing water where it doesn't usually pool.

Rich, glad you got some bike time...saw some out riding around, too.

Running back into hot weather this week after a brief respite, no rain to speak of for a while and now the wind is picking up and bringin all the dust that goes with it.
Buying in more hay for the horses, that hurts as most years we cut our own but that's life I suppose.
Unfortunately with the wind and the heat the firebugs will be active playing their little tricks, would love to catch one in the act.

Got 2 more onion bunches/sets of Texas white sweet onions but not 1015's. Got them planted and watered.

Did some more fridge looking. They don't have this particular model I'm wanting to buy at the last 5 places I've been. Will check in Bryan/College Station tomorrow.

Made a guess and bought 2 orings to fix a leaky kitchen Delta faucet spout. Turns out I guessed wrong. The inside of the spout needed to be ball honed from the years of operation. Made some measurements and turns out I need a pair of size 212's. We have a whole closet of orings bought for past projects at work. PTFE, Nitrile (Buna), EPDM Rubber and Fluorocarbon (Viton). Kalrez ® o-rings and Silicone, red ones, black ones, white ones, we got it all for you down at your local R&D company! It takes more time to dig through them than they are worth usually.

Dr appt for the high blood pressure tomorrow morning. Will go fridge shopping at lunch. Sales end on the 27th. Motivated.

Got the saddle on the Takamine guitar sanded down most of the way. It has a proprietary palathetic pickup under the bridge and there are 2 special metal shims that go under the bone saddle. One is broken, and need to fabricate a new one. I pieced the bad shim together just to get it back playing again. Might need to sand down the saddle another .030" or so still.

All in all, a good day.

Roy, glad your wifey is getting good enough to come home.

You folks be careful if you have ice conditions.

Prayers for all spoken and subtle.

Believe it or not, Amazon sells appliances. I don't know how the prices compare, but the reviews show that most makes/models have at least 25% one and two star ratings. Doesn't say much for the "new" technology. I was looking to replace my 2005 era Whirlpool, but not if the new one will cost a fortune in repairs.

Good luck with your search, Kyle, and let us know what you end up with, OK?

Good evening all. 33F for the start, clear, calm. Sky stayed clear, wind stayed down, and high temp of 59F. Chapel to start the day, made wife breakfast, puttered with trolling motor batteries, this time the charging finished quickly for both batteries. Finished hooking up the power leads to batteries, will check them in the morning for charge. After nap bike ride, then dog walk.
Roy good news on your wife.
prayers for all.
