Drew nice looking flowers you are a little ahead of me

31 degrees this morning, but supposed to go to 62 sunny degrees today. The ground is still too wet for mowing, but I did do a little string trimming yesterday. I'm just hoping it doesn't rain anymore for a few weeks.

Wind finally arrived, had gust to 20 a couple of minutes ago.
39 going to 48 with 20-30 mph winds, gusting over 40.

I知 going to service my Kubota and put a set of those Gator blades you all love, never been completely happy with originals.

I have singing frogs and flocks of birds and howling cats out back, spring is near!

Happy day and Gods love to you.

Which model Gators G-3, 5 or 6?

Good Morning!!!! 47F @ 4:30AM. Cloudy with periods of rain. High 48F. Winds SE at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 100%. 1 to 2 inches of rain expected.

Looks like another 2-3 inches of rain are due in overnight, and another 3-5 inches for tomorrow. It's batten down the hatches time!

Yesterday I received flash flood warnings via voicemail, email, and text messages. I guess I can't say I haven't been warned.

Don't know where the tree frogs have gotten to out here, Randy. Maybe they're still hibernating from the cold weather we've been having. Hope so, as I'd hate to think that the fire got 'em and I really enjoy their singing.

Shift-Linkage-Tabs.jpg
Spent some quality time under the van yesterday removing the front shifter linkage so the plastic tabs can be replaced. As I feared, the steel forks the tabs mount to were also bent, but I was able to find dimensions online for what they used to be and will take a shot at bending them back today. Should the van ever go in for service somewhere again, I think I won't be leaving the keys with them in hopes of avoiding this kind of trouble in the future.:confused2:

Got through about ten feet of log pile, using the bigger saw on mostly 8-12" pieces I'd gathered along the road into this place when the electric utility crews cleared trees under the power lines. All oak, most of it very green, and all of it heavy. Figured it was easier to just cut some of the bigger pieces where they laid in the pile instead of busting a gut getting them onto the sawbuck. Work smarter, not harder, right? About half way through the second tank of gas it started raining, but since my shirt was already soaked through with sweat I kept going to finish up the bed load, then stacked it. Looks like about a cord bucked so far, ready for splitting.

Nice light rain with a little breeze, and with enough daylight left to enjoy a couple fingers of Macallan on the front porch watching the trees sway and listening to the pitter patter on the roof of the parts van. The liquor works a lot better than ibuprofen for sore back muscles. A little piece of steak on the BBQ and some TV, and next thing you know I was nodding off and ready for bed.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start...

Kubota F269E 72 Mower - farm & garden - by owner - sale

should be interesting to see how many scammers call up. No, I don't ship to Mumbai...

only had one picture, surprisingly, the snow should get some attention here actually...

Good luck with the ad, Drew. You're sure to get a few gamers and looky lous, just part of the game.

Not sure I'd want my address on CL; too much chance of midnight shoppers. I don't even put a phone number up there; let 'em send an email first with *their* phone number and I'll call 'em back if they sound legit.:2cents:

41 and windy sunshine, going to 54.

Been out cleaning up sticks that blew off the trees last night...also knocked out power for 3 hours, and blew my wife's gazing ball off the stand and shattered it.

Hope the sun and wind starts the drying process...still wet outside.

Power been out since midnight. They are working on it behind my house.

It's warmer this morning 23°. Yesterday was mostly sunny and windy, the high was in the mid 30's. Looks like today is going to be in the low 40's partly cloudy and the wind 10-15 mph.

The wind was blowing to hard to set in the sun and practice my welding yesterday. I did get some stuff organized in the garage that have I've been putting off doing for some time.

If the wind isn't bad today I'll try doing some welding. The neighbor called last night and needs some help moving a few things around. I'll go up about noon and help him.

Hope everyone has a good start to the week.
CWB.

Good morning all,

30 degrees this morning and snowing lightly. Not really sure what the forecast is.

Prayers for those in need.

   / Good morning!!!! #89,775
44°F here this morning and overcast. Forecast says 65°F this afternoon and rains starting this evening.

Heading out to horse pasture, this morning, to see if I can finish mowing there before more rain comes later.

Randy, your Kubota Dealer parts department can probably give you the correct Oregon Gator Mulching Blade p/n. Most are very used to complaints about crappy OEM blades.

If you have the Kubota OEM blade p/n, it's pretty easy to cross reference to the Oregon. I've found best prices for Gator Blades have been on eBay. I just bought a new set of 3 blades, for my 72" deck, for $48 with free shipping. Ordered on Tuesday ...... received on Friday.

Hoping everyone has an excellent week.

Prayers to all.

Good morning to all! Low of 29, going up to 48. What remains of the snow should melt off. Temps slowly increasing throughout the week, topping of near 60. No precip until next Saturday. The southern part of the state may hit 80. You guys in Tx will be getting very warm too!

Drew, good luck selling the mower. That's a really good price. Maybe your timing is right and one of the commercial guys need one. The flowers look nice. We had brought some hyacinth bulbs in for the winter. They have all bloomed already inside, too cold to go outside when they first popped up....

Hopefully you guys in the East / NE don't get any damage from the wind.

RNG, that's a lot of rain in a short period, no wonder there's flash flood warnings. Do you normally get rain like that?

Little tweets all over, they are sizing up the area for their nests. They are tearing through the seed feeders. We timed the " full to empty" of one of the feeders....16 minutes.. The whole flock came in!

Maybe some errands today...maybe not. No other plans.

Everyone have a great start to the week! Prayers sent.

RNG, that's a lot of rain in a short period, no wonder there's flash flood warnings. Do you normally get rain like that?.

What's normal? Two years ago, a series of Pacific storms like this led to the spillway fiasco at the Oroville Dam. They say they're ready this time around, and perhaps they'll get to test it. It is very normal for a front to move through and drop an inch or two. But when David leaves the door open , a Pineapple Express, or atmospheric river as the "metpros" like to call them, can dump a whole lot more. I read somewhere that good water years on the west coast are most often attributable to atmospheric river events; sometimes it only takes one to make the difference between drought and no rationing. The problem we have now is that the cold storms of the last few weeks put a lot of snow onto the mountains. The warm air associated with the "Express" puts rain on those same peaks, so the runoff is greatly increased as the rain melts the snow. And to top it all off, in fire ravaged areas, a hard crust is left behind that prevents the water from soaking in, so more of the rain runs off. I think that's what's driving the flash flood warnings right now.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

Today’s high temperature 33ºF occurred at midnight. Fortunately for my sleep the higher wind gusts held off until sunrise and the wind has been cranking up ever since. The wind did not wake me, but Mr Knee did; probably complaining about the tight pressure gradient moving overhead. 1” of fresh snow. I’ll probably be seeing Lake Effect Snowshowers for the next two days as this exiting weather system continues to bomb off the ME coast. I’ll be surprised if temps rise above the mid 20ºF’s until Thursday. A dry clipper system mid week and a possible wintry mix weekend storm similar to most of the other winter storms that have impacted on SW NE.

Drew- Good luck selling your mower.

Rich- Good luck with your training sessions.

…. Lots of noise about weather system next week but think it will be north of here or another ghost- Buppies. This has been the Winter of weather model ghosts, inland runners, MidAtlantic sliders and lots of misdirected clipper systems. This storm you mentioned as currently modeled looks almost like a developing nor’easter. An unused weather term this Season. We’ll see. It probably will end up as another clipper.:(

…. The liquor works a lot better than ibuprofen for sore back muscles.- RNG. I assume medicinal strength = 4 fingers?;) I hope your complaining muscle groups were satisfied.

Phil- I wish you a safe return trip home and back to the land of wind, ice, and snow. Possible Lake Effect Snow squalls all the way to the Worcester high terrain.

All you using grills, barbecuing, and smokers are killing me. As soon as the ice and snow on the deck melts I'll be out there. It's been 8 weeks since my Big Green Egg has seen fire.

My + wishes, thoughts, ad prayers.
