65°F and 4.14 inches rain, quite a soggy day. Will need some intense dryness to resume project painting. Forecast says possible clearing this afternoon.
Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

The rain has stopped and nothing is melting yet. It looks like close to a 1/4" of ice coating everything outside. Poor footing even for Brogen. No new tree damage seen with the icing. Things may be different tomorrow with the anticipated wind.

Interesting. Do you think my local Walmart manager was not telling the truth. I went to Menards today. They had 1/2 gallon 2% on the shelf. 3/7 date $1.49. Love that store. A person could do all their shopping there. A little bit of everything.

I HAVE had 2 different Walmart managers tell me something that was not true in the past. I don't know whether it was deliberate on their part, or just a mistake.

It’s slowly warming up here today. Was 34F this am with rain-~0.5” overnight. The temp supposed to go to 49F later, but the “warm” front will usher in the heavy winds. They are talking gusts to 60 mph tonight. Everyone please enjoy the rest of your weekend! Frank

I would LIKE some rain now....way too tired of the snow. Even more so of the wind...did I mention that?:D

David, you mentioned a future project was a 'caretakers cottage' .....Are you hiring? I have years of construction experience and a TLB !

Hope everyone has a great Saturday! Prayers sent.

LOL, hiring maybe something of a stretch. What I’m hoping for is someone healthy enough willing to trade hours for a place to live.

that's what I should have done as soon as I moved here.

got the small rototiller ready for tomorrow, thankfully it started right up. My new helper is going to bounce around with that.
Then I changed bromine cartridges in hot tub and took a soak. Felt nice even if it was a warm 72 out.
Everything in barn sopping wet, opened all the doors, got some air on the tool chests and turned the heat on to dry out the woodshop.
I have tools out in the unheated barn and learned I had to be liberal with that waxy spray to keep them from corroding. Gums the tool up but better than rust. Inside the woodshop use of a small heater has done the trick for me.

Waiting for sun to dip behind tallest trees to go out and shut doors in greenhouse, sun finally came out, and doesn't take long for that little building to get too hot.

Good evening. It was 55 this morning. Needed to run a few errands, so took the Triumph. First ride in a while. Felt good, but the beginning of the winds were pushing me around coming home. Now down to 33 and the wind is still blowing. Looks like a couple of dead ash trees cooperated and fell today. More firewood.

The woodburner is feeling good this evening.

The home brew was not an imperial stout. And the chocolate and raspberries were subtle. Which is the way I enjoy a beer with additions. This particular recipe has been a nice beer to drink. And it has aged well. I have another batch conditioning.

Everyone have a good evening.

The chickens came out great! Actually falling off the bone! Did a 'Tennessee sweet sauce' for the glaze. That was a stick of sweet cream butter (unsalted), two tablespoons of raw honey, and two tablespoons of KC masterpiece hickory BBQ sauce. Melt and mix together, pour over the chicken. Sprinkle with basil, garlic powder, little bit of white pepper. Baste about every 45 min to an hour.

They were large chickens (about 6 lbs), smoked them at 205 degrees for 6 hours with hickory chips. Veggies were in a separate pan.
