Drinking first cup of coffee. 18° with light snow this morning. Heading to 24° with more snow. Got about 6" of snow since yesterday morning. Good visit with my 2 aunts. Need to get out and plow snow this morning. Need to take wife to a Dr appointment. Then sit back in my lazy boy recliner and look out at the winter wonderland.

Youngest son went Ice fishing yesterday. I remember when I did that cold weather stuff. He caught a few fish.

Eric, I did not use a wench. Pulled fence tight with tractor. Maybe that's why I pulled an end post out. :confused3:

Buckeye, prayers for your wife's aunt.

Kyle, always want to learn how to play an instrument. But my ability to play one is worse than my ability to dance. My grandson has the ability. Do not know how my wife has kept me all these years. She loves to dance.

Good Morning All.

Not sure what I’m going to do. I guess go out and clear the snow off the walk. Really not enough to plow. Then to the shop for the same. I haven’t been ice fishing since I was a kid. A lot of those things stopped when dad started his own business. He has since told me that he shouldn’t have done that, took too much time away from family.

Good Morning!!!! 39F @ 6:00AM. Sunny. High 49F. Winds NNE at 5 to 10 mph.

If the roof is that shaky, Eric, maybe throw a rope over the peak and down to your Iseke, and use a "wench" to take up the slack before you start fixing the leak. That way, you'll just be left hanging like Spider Man if things go south.

That southwestern shepherd's pie sounds mighty tasty, Wng. Got a recipe to share?

Spent most of the day entering information into TurboTax yesterday, and sure enough, I couldn't find cost basis info for the small piece of mom's boyfriend's property that sold last year. Sent an email off to the attorney that handled the estate asking for help. Also sent off a couple emails to van part suppliers asking about issues there, too. People like me sitting at home weekends making up problems for others still working are part of the reason Mondays have such a bad reputation.:laughing::laughing:

Drove down to Yuba City to meet a buddy for dinner yesterday evening. Caught up on things; haven't seen him since last fall. He showed up in a new-to-him Mercedes coup, said the little V8 in it made 360 HP. Little rocket ship, hope his license remains unscathed. The restaurant had skirt steak on the menu, and it was tender and delicious. Probably shouldn't have eaten the whole thing, but I seem none the worse for wear this morning...:confused2::drool:

Not sure what the day will bring, but I do need to swap out the near empty pallet of firewood in the garage for a full one, and I might get a start on a new saw buck, for no other reason than to get the lumber up off the garage floor.

Hope everyone's week gets off to a wonderful start!

Good morning to all! Low of 16, only going up to 32. Had a dusting of snow overnight. Forecast is to start getting snow by this afternoon, heavy overnight, our area expected to get 10-12", higher elevations up to 24" now predicted. Temps the rest of the week only reaching the low 30's.

What happened to spring? It was in the mid 50's last week. The tree buds are all swollen and ready to pop their leaves! Somebody needs to have a serious talk with that rat back east!

Kyle, thanks for all the guitar info! I guess it will be like tractor shopping....too many choices! He is 16, has been playing the tuba in the marching band for 4 years, playing the guitar for only about a year. This year he was asked to join the classical music band at school. He's a big kid, over 6' and 220 lbs. We didn't want to go real expensive for now, but didn't want to get a piece of junk. I guess we better get shopping!

Drew, good luck with the pulley! Heat might definitely be required. I have fought with many a pulley and "attached arms". Can you get a puller on it? Might be able to rent one at an auto parts store.

Don, your neighborhood is getting exciting! Tractor time, soon to be woodworking, now police activity.... You better proceed carefully each day...don't want to overdo it!:D

Bill, maybe you can ship those cats down here and they could "sing" they're hearts out....maybe the clouds will listen and hold off on dropping more snow here.....

Today's vet visit shouldn't be any hassle since the snow did hold off until later today. Not much else planned...I'm sure something will come up...

Everyone have a great start to the week, stay warm, dry, and safe! Prayers sent for all.

RNG, how is your lake level doing? Lake Orville? I see that you you guys have a lot of rain and snow, do you think the next fire season will be somewhat subdued?

Good morning everyone,

Starting off a little chilly this morning at -2 degrees. Clear skies and no snow expected until Wednesday.

The fire is stoked up and just watching the news. Hope everyone enjoys the day off.

The day is starting out at 3° this morning. Yesterday was mostly sunny with high in the mid 20's. Today is going to be in the teens and overcast with a light wind.

Worked on the windshield defroster on the side by side. Found out the hose was ripped and after cutting that off its to short to hook back up. I have a plan to fix the reason it ripped just need to buy some stuff the next trip to town.

Watched the race yesterday and only fell a sleep ones.

Hope everyone has a good start to the week.
CWB.

The lake is up about 90 feet in the last month, but that's the narrow part of the "V" at the bottom of the canyon, and doesn't represent a lot of water, Irv. Looking back a couple years at capacity to when the spillway failed, the lake's only about half full, and the authorities are now very gun shy about getting anywhere near the 80% level they're not supposed to exceed.

If the rainfall keeps going into spring, it'll be another bad fire season like last year. Maybe worse, since there are now so many dead and dying bushes and trees in the wildland areas after last year's Carr and Camp Fires.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!

23ºF and snowing to start the day, 24ºF now, and ~30ºF anticipated. 2" of accumulated snow. With all the shared loses of friends and family here it was a serious pleasure to have two of our closest friends stop by for a couple of cold ones yesterday afternoon and get caught up and re-connect. I

I missed the race, but saw all the crash replays later. Honestly I prefer tractor and draft animal pulls. Watching those drivers reminds me of the Massh*le drivers near Beantown who delusionally believe are great drivers regardless of road conditions.

BEF- I am sorry to read about your Wife's aunt. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Eric- Good luck with the roof repair and Drew removing the pulley w/o injury to either of you.

I enjoyed the guitar pictures and appreciate the quality of a better made guitar, but I sam musically challenged and increasingly deaf. My friend who visited is a talented guitar player as was his Dad. I still enjoy listening to talented musicians.

RonJH- I hope that your Wife's Dr visit goes as anticipated and there are no surprises, and thanks for sharing the picture of your son ice fishing.

Some people run from an incident and some people run towards it. I'd bet the jewels most if not all the readership here would choose the latter choice. Don- curious incident down your way.

I hope that everyone is having decent Monday and those who can celebrate Presidents' Day are able.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

LS, have you checked out the Guitar Center in ABQ. The ones in Houston area are easy to do business with and have both new and used inventory.

New Albuquerque Music Store Inventory | Guitar Center

My first guitar, after I got out of the USAF, was an Ovation Applause AA14-1 sunburst. I still have it.

29°F and light flurries this morning, going up to 34° today. Supposed to start warming a bit as the week progresses. Low 50s by Saturday.

Didn't get as much done in the studio as I'd hoped yesterday. Too much "puttering around." Felt like a dog in a room full of squirrels.

There are the proverbial boat-load of guitars out there, Ted. Most of them, even the less expensive ones, are pretty good these days. Kyle's advice is solid.

Throw me on the list of people interested in that southwest shepherd's pie recipe, Wngsprd.

Having one of those days at work so far today. I sure wish "stupid" was more painful for the giver than it is for the receiver.
