-7 here heading to 25ish. Pellet stove ran out during the night. Got that fixed up and slowly drinking 1st coffee.

Great news on the knee Jay. Surgery sucks!

We got some good news at the wife’s doctors office. It looks like her heart procedure worked enough to put off more surgery. She needs to heal for a few more weeks then put on a monitor for a couple days to make sure. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

While all this was going on I had to have an endoscopy. They removed 3 biopsies and the results came back clean. (Phew!)
I have been diagnosed with Barret’s esophagus. Caused by a lifetime of acid reflux. I need to go back to the doc in February to see how to get it under control.
Right now I am on a strict diet-only 2 coffees a day! No chocolate ,soda,redmeat,citrus,spices,onions,peppers,tomatoes,sauces,etc.etc.
Basically back on a rice and chicken diet till I go see the doc. Lol, I should lose some weight anyway.

Stay warm and safe everyone. Thoughts and prayers for those in need.

Most old inns with character were built when men were men.
They turn the heating off extra early when there are visitors from America, to help experience a little of those long gone times. :)

LOL. I love this sense of humor.

21 but going to 47. I guess I'll go outside in a little while and see if I see my shadow.

Jay, good to hear your knee report.

Phil, sorry to hear about your Barret's. Glad you can drink coffee. Doctor didn't say how big those two cups can be, did he?

I got out early yesterday to move some pallets of wood while the ground was frozen solid. Needed to restock the porch, and bring some rounds up to the splitter. Today is the first morning in a month that the house has been up to normal warmth. Glad the HVAC is working. I like the tech and told him I would say good things about him in the letter as I complain about their lack of parts, and my electric bill for a month at double the normal usage.

-19 right now...high today in the low 20's and probably some snow showers.
Not much planned today...a beer run is about it. My left leg has what the doctor diagnosed as sciatica...so, I'm pretty much going to stay off my feet today

10 right now, 42 later they say. It was supposed to be 25 overnight but the snow cover fixed that.
Guys are putting a roof on Ellens house, her son lives there now. We have to check on that and
get ready for grandson that’s having his seventh birthday party here later.
Son and his two boys are here as well.

MP, good news on the wife!
Have a good day, prayers for all.

Dave, nice BMW! Other Dave, glad you, Jay and Phil's wife are doing better.
Always more worrisome when it's the wife's health...we are those tough men like Eric says...;)
I think we have three David's now...guess we'll have to go back to our nick names.

Took a chance yesterday and planted about a hundred cabbage plants and it went down to 30 last night. We'll see how
cold hardy they are...probably should have hardened them a little, but my cabbages are tough like Englishmen! Well, hopefully not
after being cooked.

Weather is definitely warming up, no freezing temps in ten day forecast, three days over 70.
More transplanting today, think I'll plant spinach and kale in addition to many hundreds of cabbages.

toppop, that drive didn't look like fun... nice to be in a big safe vehicle when you get stuck in that.

My helper comes today, didn't think he could come this week, but maybe my seduction is working...I try to get him away from the pig farm
where he works, because he's super here, but poor man works at least 60 hours a week. But he loves plants, and I planted a half tray of lettuce and put a label on it proclaiming it was his lettuce. Well....the smile on his face when he saw that, pretty sure he's coming back to check on his lettuce...

Have a nice weekend guys.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 10° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 42° with partly cloudy skies. Good day yesterday. Dr visit went well. I was early for PT. Dog is happy to be home and frozen water line thawed. Need to go into attic and check that there are no leaks. Going to be nice to go outside without a 4 layers of clothing. Then get tractor out and clean up snow as it melts.

RNG, great picture of bikes. Not sure about Zebra paint.

Jay, good news, now work getting it back to normal.

Eric, I spent many nights in a Wolverhampton Inn in the 70's. Not sure they turned the heat off every night because I was a from USA. Everyone would complain at breakfast. Some good memories from that trip.

Phil, good news on wife. At Least they did not rule out coffee. Best wishes for healing.

LS, glad your knee is getting better. I need to do something to help our dog. Always seems to be in stress when not sleeping. Looking into CBD.

Drew, good plan on worker seduction. How about cornering off a area just for him to grow his own garden. Like the TXBW has. :D

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

In Texas CBD oil with THC can only be prescribed ONLY to epileptic children that don't respond to other drugs and has to have two Doctors prescribe it. For these children it has proven 84% effective. It was just passed in 2018 by the state legislature.

"Most CBD oil for dogs and other pets is derived from hemp oil, so it contains no or very small traces of THC. Because of this, hemp-based CBD products for humans and animals are legal in all 50 states."
1 Things You Didn't Know About CBD Oil For Dogs

Don, there was a headline article about a retired Texas officer who set up a CBD sales operation primarily for police officers, and there was a formal statement today that no police officers are to take illegal drugs including CBD while on duty. It's a ridiculous position to put the police or anyone in.

It must be hard being a LEO when you know some laws are just plain wrong...when does one just look away
and wish someone a nice day.

can anyone living in a fully legal state/country comment on proper dosages:

To start, take one dose in the morning and one at night. This can be adjusted if more or less relief is necessary. A good rule of thumb for heavier customers is to start with 25-50mg of CBD per dose and adjust as needed. Smaller customers or more mild symptoms may only require about 10-15mg of CBD, followed by adjustments as necessary.

Buy CBD Oil Capsules: 45 - 3mg in 3 or 6 Count Bottles | cbdMD
the amounts in these capsules are WAY higher than what is recommended above. ??????????

for those of you in wonderful health, sorry about taking so much time about issues of falling apart. Wait your turn...

Good Morning!!!! 52F @ 3:45AM. Periods of rain. High 52F. Winds SE at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 100%. Rainfall around a half an inch.

Looks like we're in for a series of storms, originating in the Aleutian Islands of Alaska, over the next several days. Can't blame David this time around. Pretty much steady rain during this period, and maybe even some snow here Monday night into Tuesday morning. It'll be a good time to catch up on some paperwork and other inside jobs, and for me it's put the K-bosh on the annual "I Hate Football" campout down in the Sacramento River Delta with the VW camper/BMW motorcycle group. Maybe next year.

Glad to hear some good news on the medical fronts; I hope the progress continues and you all are back in the pink in no time!

A group featuring free glass pipes, AKA drug paraphernalia, showed up in my Facebook advertising feed yesterday. I "reported" them to the powers that be, only to be told not to look at it if it bothers me. Then another note came along this morning saying that some items in the group violated "community guidelines" and were removed, but the group, and the behavior, remains. :confused2: I guess Zuckerberg thinks it's OK expose kids to this kind of crap; maybe he's even on the stuff himself?:confused2:

Laid out a 100' x 110' perimeter for the shop area yesterday, then got elevation measurements using the laser level for points at 10' intervals on the perimeter. Had to move the laser tripod twice because the fifteen foot rod wasn't long enough to cover the fall over the area of interest. That's making the data processing "interesting". I thought using a spreadsheet for this would simplify things, but the Apple Numbers program doesn't seem up to the job of creating 3D plots, so I'll be looking into an open source solution. I was pretty satisfied with the accuracy of the measurements, though waving a stick around in the air with the laser detector beeping fast, slow, or not at all required some patience and finesse to maintain consistency. It seemed a bit of black magic, as even on an overcast day, the beam itself was invisible even wearing the ruby tinted laser glasses provided with the unit. At this point, it's clear there's gonna be a lot of dirt moved to get that building built.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend; I think I'll start mine with a little more sleep!
