Good Morning Guys,

PopG, yes I agree, WAZE is a very good app for avoiding accidents and back ups on road work !!
I use Waze all the time, but, on a detour you better be checking with google maps, as Waze has sent me down some ridiculous backroads before. It won’t necessarily give the best route, just shortest or fastest back to the path it originally had you on.

Morning all!
Currently 67 and drizzling. Yesterday had 3 inches of rain fall in 2 hours. Heavy flooding thru out the area with numerous cars stranded. We only had a little water in thru the garage doors and some thru the bulkhead. Haven't heard of any injured yet. Hopefully everyone is ok. Pics on the news of cars completely covered in water!
Nothing planned today except maybe putter in the shop. More heavy rain for tomorrow so will go out and make sure things are secure.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Mostly, yes, Tiger is the one that used to jump up the wall to get to other side of basement. He’s a rescue cat. When we first got him my wife and son soon wanted to get rid of him because he was in to everything. He has really become a loving cat, but not a lap cat. He will jump on my lap and patiently wait if I’m eating ice cream, then I let him lick the bowl. Lately I’ve been trying to get him to sleep with me. He will lay on floor or on a chair in our room. Sometimes he will get on the bed after I go to sleep.
And he likes to talk to us.

Only thing better than a load of free wood is a delivered load of free wood.
I now have 9 logs I have to get up to the woodlot to throw on the mill, but they are a lot easier to handle now that they are all 8’6”-ish. I can only do 2-3 at a time in our pickup, but thy’ll get there! Then I have to drag the splitter back home to split the rounds, but that is easier than loading up all the logs, splitting them at the woodlot, then transporting them back…

I was pleased to be able to get an appt with ortho PA nearby for tomorrow morning.
Have them look at my hand.
Otherwise, I'll just go set it under the drill press
and start drilling into it.
 ;)

starting to pack stuff in rv, underwear and socks went today.
can't run out of those....I take plenty of extras
later on this week I turn the fridge on and start packing food in there.
And I start buying large quantities of apples to haul South to friends in Washington NC.
they know the apple man is returning next week.

65 and about a "foot" of dew. Going to 87.

Kil, nice free logpile. I've avoided burning pine...2 years enough to keep the creosote down?

Those brown recluse sound bad. I wear gloves when handling firewood, and most anything outside during the warm months...our problem is black widows and all of the members of the wasp/hornet family. Black widow sent the farmer across the road to the hospital.

Buppies, hopefully these cooler temps starting Wednesday night will kick up your energy.

We went to lunch yesterday, and I picked up some diesel so I could mow for over 2 hours when we got home. More today.
Two years does it, especially if you split it small. Also important to use it after getting a good bed of hardwood doing for max heat. Nwhich you can start with pine kindling 🤣😂

I'm headed to south Florida in early November, just booked the campground a half mile from my friend's home.
I'll be coming down 81 and already have a certain Walmart shopping center address already plugged in.
Buppies, please tell your wife I'm bringing her apples for a pie or cobbler. No sugar added so you can eat it...

Kilroy good score. can rip through them with a sharp chain, bet it smelled good

I don’t find it funny. His last email of all the stuff he was fighting for in DC, is all the stuff his constituents in my county oppose. I sent email back telling him to resign. He barely won last time, hopefully next time he’ll be gone.

Was 61° for the morning wall. 2.6 miles in 44 minutes. We crossed over on way back to take slightly longer path. 1 car in parking lot when we arrived, 8 when we left, lot was almost full.
Sun out now, was foggy earlier.
Took hour to catch up on GM thread.

I find it amusing that - "winey" L i b e r a l.

And the fact that you have to interject your political leanings in most any subject.

I have been pretty pleased with the WAZE app for navigation. I have regretted the times that I ignored it’s guidance, running into accidents or construction that caused delays on my preferred route.
Waze has been incorporated into Google Maps. A few years ago I learned the hard way to take spontaneous route changes with a grain of salt. GM guided me off a stopped freeway into a neighborhood, then to a T intersection. There was a sign on the stop sign that read something like "no right turn, no left turn, 4-6PM weekdays." And across the street was a motorcycle cop writing tickets as quick as he could. I did a three point turn around to get out of there.

It does work sometimes, though. After the stop in Sacramento on the way home last time, Apple Maps had me on two lane roads for 20 miles. I switched to Google Maps, which got me to US99, but routed me through the backed up interchange with US50, down onto city streets for a few blocks to were US50 was flowing again for a short leg and back onto I5 north. It helped that I could see what it was doing on the colored traffic display on the big dash monitor, a huge improvement over the tiny screen on the iPhone.

Good morning! Low was 52°, so far.... holding at 52°. High supposed to be 66°. Some rain overnight, only registered 0.09" .... but 80% chance for more today, tonight and tomorrow.

NO to the flu shot... to RSV shot, to 19 booster. Period....

More piddling expected today....

there has been a lot of that lately
simply using the word "liberal" is a whitewash
I really hate labels
there is some continuing anti government chatter that I wish folks would keep to other venues.

remember, no religion, no politics
let's seek that which binds us together

had a successful morning, waltzed into Comcast/Xfinity and within five minutes was out of there with service turned off.
No lines, no wait. outstanding

Somewhat in jest, but does that apply to you, too, Drew?

We all want to dog pile on those kinds of threads, but more than a few seem to have started with you... 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

67°F and .33 inches rain.

Will be watching the Apple shindig with my coffee this morning. No intent to buy anything new, but I do enjoy it. Truth be told I did enjoy going to things like MacWorld and other techie things back before I retired.

Will be checking pool mod for leaks etc and get that turned on and functional.

And still mowing to finish.

Happy Hour was a good time with good seats and people.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day
