24 and going to a high of 28F. Wind WSW 11 gusting 22 mph. 60% chance of flurries.

I take NO pills, except for the very occasional Tylenol for a headache and that is only IF I am in a situation (within 12 hours of driving) where I cannot take the CBD oil. I control my cholesterol with raw oatmeal.
I flatly refuse to go to the Drs unless I have busted something or have something I can't fix myself and then it is to the hospital ER. I might be pig headed about hospitals and Drs, but I will NOT make someone elses payments on their yacht. I am a firm believer in Drs getting kickbacks from the dope companies.
My knees aren't good, but they will work. I have parked my heavy skidoo boots in favour of rabbit fur lined Mukluks. They weigh in at 2 lbs each. Really light for a winter boot, but comfortable and warm as all get out. They are also waterproof.

The degenerative disk disease I have in my back is under control. That is one of the reason I bought the tractor with loader and now have added a backhoe to it. NO more heavy lifting for me nor the young (50) lad.

Regarding spuds, murphies, potatoes, I prefer mine baked. It doesn't matter if they are sweet potatoes (yams) or white. Russets make the best baking potato in my mind, for a white potato.

We got down to 1 box of dried marrowfat peas last week. I ordered 24 more boxes. That should do us until I go back to work in May. 24 boxes is only 12 meals for the two of us that REALLY like them. The young lad doesn't care for them much, but his wife and I go nuts for them. NO leftovers of mushy peas because I will eat them cold the next morning for breakfast.

Regarding religious tolerance, I do not attend church at all if I can possibly avoid it. I believe that you have your beliefs and I have mine. But that being said I do believe in a higher power. Jehovahs Witness come around here about 6 times per year, the young lad deals with them, outside. He loves a good conversation with some else other than family. If I had my way I would run them off.

Today is another energy conservation day.

Have a good day all

We cut down our Christmas tree yesterday, and I got it up in the house. Today we will decorate it...good day to do that if snowing, with Christmas carols playing on the stereo.

Is one of those carols going to be Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer?

Got a call from Son that lives in NC early this morning. On his way home from his weekly trip to San Diego and back. It rained all the way. After he left Atlanta it was snow then freezing rain. Nasty storm to say the least. He was about 10 miles from his home when he called.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

Hope son got home okay.

I have been tracking that storm and if it had come north it would have dumped about a foot or so of snow on me.

36 degrees this morning, going for a high of 44. We had rain for just about 24 hours; ended about 3 p.m. yesterday afternoon. And even though it was almost continuous, it was a very light sprinkle most of the time; never any heavy rain. So 24 hours of rain put about 1.25" in my gauge.

Good Morning everyone!!!

An 8ºF start to the morning. Ice crystals were floating around and on the ground reflecting like diamonds in the beam of my headlamp early this AM. Today's high temps should hover ~30ºF.

Nothing planned for today other than feed the wood stove, walk the dog, and continue focusing on the ice on the driveway and walkways. Too cold to use CaCl2 at this point in the AM; warm enough to throw some ashes around. Freeze, thaw, and re-freeze is a daily cycle around here. It does keep things (like walking) "interesting."

Buppies- This is one potent storm. I hope you have sufficient fuel to manage your snow. Good luck. Your region does not have the snow management resources as most of NE. Please keep us posted.

No snow for NE until maybe this coming Friday-Saturday and it may be a snow-mixed precip to rain and back to snow again event. The models are in agreement until Friday then they start to diverge on phasing and tracking. The maps generated by the models are pretty decent.

Ed- I enjoy/enjoyed reading your posts. I look forward to reading them again at some point. My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for you and yours. Take care.

Eric- I enjoy your posts and perspective from "across the Pond.":D

om21braz- Welcome to this thread. Good luck with the snow management. Please keep us posted.

I hope that everyone is having a decent weekend so far, there are no new injuries, and those mending are still mending and not over-exerting themselves.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all.
