Yesterdays shopping trip covered 11 stores L4N

wow, and now your DIL wants to do more shopping.
support your local businesses so they don't fold up...
I think I'd be looking for chairs on a day like you had.
If you have a long drive to get there, sure don't want to forget anything.

now if you took your dog sled shopping...;)

We have not paid an electric bill this year.
Irv

Drew, you’ve done Kubota, Deere, and now Massey. I think you’re in danger of being a tractor ****.

nice tractors come in all sizes and shapes, just like people.
now I could tell a whopper like Eric and say this last tractor
was motivated by decluttering, reducing the tractors to three.

You forgot my other red tractor! Farmall...though Massey's red is like fire engine/Ferrari red.
At the end of the coming year, I am likely to sell the Super A, unless i can get my fireman neighbor to drive it.
It's pretty punishing to drive and that straight cut gear noise bores into your head. Still fun to drive...as an antique.

Am actually working at selling off some of my "better ideas"...

26 today going to 37. At least it finally is not raining. Finishing 2nd cup of coffee..heading out to breakfast with wife and then picking up grt.nephew to visit church social-Christmas auction/bizarre. Prayers for all. Sorry for losses and injuries.

Good morning! 60˚ heading to 74˚. Thunderstorm hit last night, 1/2" of rain. Got my Christmas lights up yesterday but got cited for messy cords, not by the HOA but by a stricter enforcer, my wife. Went to Home Depot and now the electrical distribution system has passed.

Model boat races on the lake and Christmas parade on the square.

   / Good morning!!!! #85,145
Poured first cup of coffee. 32 with freezing fog this morning. Heading to 38° with rain most of the day. I have no idea what freezing fog is. That's the Alert NWS sent out this morning on my iPhone. No plans for today yet. The cranes that have been visiting my yard everyday have been missing for 3 days. Hope they have decided to make the trip south.

RIP President Bush.

Kyle, hope they find what your pain was.

Buppies, the leaves can wait. Mine are waiting for spring when I will put a set of high lift blades on the JD and let them get sucked into Trak-Vac..

Andrew, glad you are posting. How is your youngest one doing. Got to be getting ready to help with chores. :D

Farmer, prayers for you son.

Randy, give Ellen a extra hug. You both need it.

RNG, get home soon.

Drew, my idol with a tractor for every implement. Has let me down. :confused2: Nice tractor and implements.

Good Morning All.

Wet and dull here. When I got up I thought just another typical November day, then carried cup of tea over to laptop, only to realise it's now December ! In which case the weather is great for this time of year - no ice and no snow :)

Drew, very nice, hope your "last" tractor brings you many hours of pleasure.

LS, sorry to hear about Kipp.

RNG, after watching those videos of the fast moving wildfire, I woke up in the night and found I had been dreaming about trying to make a house safe against flying burning embers, which is rarely an issue in these parts of the world. For you that must be on your mind all the time while you have been in exile these last few weeks - a challenging project like no other in terms of the consequences if you get it wrong. This morning I couldn't settle until I found this NFPA video, which clarified for me lots of points https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vL_syp1ZScM With a house like yours, I'm sure you will come up with even better defences for the future.

One thing I haven't got to grips with is what is needed to ensure you have good air to breath. If you could let me in on your thoughts on how you are solving that, then I may sleep a little easier tonight ;)

RIP Kipp.

39 going to mid 40s and likely rain.

Sorry to read you are in the hospital, Harv. Hope they get the problem figured out and addressed.

Kyle and Buppies, hope you're feeling better, too.

LS, sorry to hear about Kipp. Dogs are special blessings but hard to lose.

PJ, cool guitar, but I like the fridge even better :).

RNG, that was an interesting story...glad she had good water pressure. Hope you get home real soon. Nice idea getting the dryer.

Decided to cut down a couple of gum trees yesterday in a place I don't want them...so sharpened the chain saw, gassed it up and got it started for the first time this season. But then decided to test run my splitter so it would be ready to split the tough gum. Took only 14 pulls, but looked like it had been slowly leaking hydraulic fluid from a hose...cleaned it up but couldn't find the leak. Then decided it was dry enough to use the tractor to help move the firewood. So put the tiller on to move it out of the way of the grapple. Then took off the bucket, and put on the grapple. Then took off the tiller and put on the carry all. Also had to move the mower so decided to mow a patch of broomstraw I'd forgotten to cut with the bush hog. This is the twice a year transition from summer equipment to winter and vice versa. Then my wife wanted help with putting up Christmas decorations. Then it was dark. So no tree cutting.

LS, I'm very sorry to read about your loss of Kipp….love dogs, but it's so heartbreaking when the time comes to let them go...

31 right now...high in the lower to mid 30's. The prediction is for a snow/ice storm tonight into Sunday. I hope we don't lose power again!

Chores today...dump run, haircut (maybe) and try out the EGO snow blower (after I install the chute.on some frozen snow. I reckon I'd better rig the electric cord to the Deere too, for tomorrow.

learned a new word today
the late George Bush's favorite saying as a pilot
perhaps means something like the world is your oyster
or life is very good.
I'd like a little CAVU when using my raised FEL...

It's 16° this morning with snow showers. It looks like we added 4-5 inches of snow overnight. Today will be in the high 20's and partly cloudy with a10-20 mph.

I'll be moving snow again today for a few hours. Not sure what I'll do the rest of the day.

LS ... Sorry to hear about the loss of Kipp.

Hope everyone has a nice start to the weekend.

We got home from the hospital just before dark. Lucille, the truck, was sitting on the select fill pad for the future bardominium and with the rain forecast I knew she would be difficult to extract from the clay/sand combination until afternoon. So I moved her over to the steel area and unloaded the 100 fence posts she was carrying. The flatbed trailer still had the sheep panels on her so I made up a jig and used Maggie to remove them and then hooked up Lucille using Maggie. This morning we run to Colbert, OK to pick up our materials for the siding of the new blacksmith/welding shop. Life goes on.

Then last night the storm blew through and undid some of the work we had done before the incident that sent me to the hospital. I had told the grandsons that I could have done it without their help but it wouldn稚 have been as much fun. I get to prove that now.

The report from the doc is that I have an arrhythmia that does a hiccup on very rare occasions. The only time I suffered a similar event was in 2012 with Lucy in 8:00 am Dallas traffic. Coming into Dallas just outside of the mixmaster, left lane, trailer behind Lucy, and I felt like I was going to pass out. Traffic was four lanes and as far back as I could see. I remember thinking, 鍍his is going to be ugly. I was able to concentrate and it passed after five minutes or so. It was very scarey.

Don, thanks for the link. It isn稚 what I experienced though. I think the best way to describe it would be having the floor collapse underneath you unexpectedly. Mentally I was alert and of course the first thought was I was having a stroke and needed to get to the hospital in time for them to undo any damage. Doc wants me to get with a cardiologist to get a monitor so we can see what is going on for sure. I told him we would do that next year when we get back from Yuma. Kinda like when the orthopedic surgeon about the surgery on my right shoulder this spring over the severed rotator cuff, 努e値l do this winter in Yuma. Ain稚 got time right now.

I have a theory about our dogs. The average person who develops relationships with dogs will have multiple dogs that pass on. One of their greatest gifts to us is they teach us about mortality and dealing with loss. Old timers know Dozer the weiner dog, aka, my wife痴 dumb *** dog who thinks I love him. He痴 twelve. He was very upset when I got hurt and even more upset when I didn稚 come home the other night. We don稚 swap spit or act very lovey but he let me know in our way that he was sure glad to see me come home, I was missed, loved even. I致e had to put dogs down with guns, and I知 not a gun owner, double doggone pacifist. And I致e went to the vet and held them as they transitioned cradled in love. It always hurts.

J&D called yesterday and the materials are in for the shop. This is exciting, desert tan with burgundy trim with reverse color panels.

I don稚 do the prayers which means I double up on the thoughts for those facing hardships, we can do this.

Good Morning!!!! 51F @ 8:15AM. A shower or two around the area early, then partly cloudy during the afternoon. Thunder possible. High near 50F. Winds SE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40%.

Supposed to hit a show'n'shine this AM, but rain may force a change of plans. Before that I need to get a batch of spaghetti sauce started in a crock pot.

Picked up mail yesterday in Oroville, and on the way back decided to see how close to home I got. Made it to the Yankee Hill sign before I hit the roadblock, and there was no BSing my way through. Went back down and up the other side of the canyon and took this shot:

Big relief to see it standing with my own eyes, but couldn't tell anything about the stuff in the yard. Maybe nobody else can, either, to that may be a good thing.

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!

Rest In Peace President Bush.

66°F and .04 inches rain. All at in opportune time to turn my dog area into a slippery slope of mud without traction. Sure hope today is a better day.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

Another balmy 23F to start “Dump Day.” Last night’s snow/sleet/ice event left more snow than ice and the footing was decent. Another Winter Weather Advisory has been for my area due to concerns about another snow/sleet/freezing rain tonight possibly extending into tomorrow changing over to rain (maybe) and then back to a wintry mix. Colder, but drier weather for the NE starts Tuesday. After tonight/tomorrow the weather looks to be pretty dry for the next 10 days. Even with temperature getting into the mid to high 40F’s into Monday and the possibility of 1” of water Saturday-Sunday. My 6”-8” of compacted snow will probably still be on the ground until Christmas due to our northerly slope.

Buppies- As you know these El Nino winters are difficult to predict; it’s a matter of frontal passage timing and systems phasing. You might as well rest your arm with the rain. I need to check on possible Christmas temperatures.

PJS- A nice looking refrigerator. It's too bad cabinet makers change their "standard dimensions" every couple of years. We too just managed to squeeze our new refrigerator into the designed space. I thought we were "high tech" with an automatic ice maker in the freezer. We can not find a replacement for our ailing/failing builtin oven. New models are either too small or too large. I keep replacing heating elements rather than replace the existing and still functioning cabinetry.

“Farmer, I hope your boy comes out it. Medical folks aren’t infallible, some just are passing time to get paid.”- 300UGUY
I agree. It saddens and angers me to read about this. Farmer hang in there and keep up your strong advocacy. Some supervisor :(

Harv- I am glad you are home.

Bruce- We have been very careful about the leftovers given to our dogs. Now we will be even more careful. So far the squash/peanut butter mix seems to be helping. Ted’s recipe is giving me some decent ideas too.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for all. I hope all those mending keep on mending and the rest of us keep on “gracefully” aging.

RIP #41 :(

Kyle, Buppies, farmer, LS, JB, RNG and all the rest, prayers and good wishes. Drew, that is one heck of a tractor for a garden! :D. Looking long range, I think after next weeks cold snap and one the next week, Christmas will be above normal, if not down right warm.
Car club Christmas dinner is tonight, might stay for the band for a while afterwards, we will see. Hope you all have a great day, God bless us all.

   / Good morning!!!! #85,159
Good morning to all! So this 'big' weather system that was supposed to dump snow didn't materialize. A few flurries, but LOTS of wind. Temps are cooler. Now they are guessing that another storm tonight may give us a dusting to 6"..... Easy way to cover their guess :D CWB --- maybe you found that switch?

Thanks for all the condolences, one doesn't realize how attached you become to our furry friends until it's time to say goodbye. I've lost many a friend over the years, I always think it won't be as bad the next time. It just seems that it happens too soon.

Kyle, I hope they are able to determine what caused your pain. Hopefully you will not have to experience it again.

Farmer, prayers sent for your little one...watch carefully and continue to be a good advocate. Take care

Toppop, thoughts and prayers for you and Ellen. It's difficult at best to deal with 'long' health issues.

PJ, nice refer....tight squeeze ....:D. but looks really nice.

Roy, don't overwork yourself playing with the EGO snowblower :D

Harv, be careful. I also have a very hard time 'staying down', but somethings can't be let go. Get the monitor test done...at least you'll know what's up. Better for you to be here than not...we need to see pics of the new shop going up. I already love the color

RNG, nice pic of the house and area. Hopes are still high for for your expeditious return home.

RIP --- George HW Bush ---good man!

Prayers and thoughts out for all! Have a great weekend.

   / Good morning!!!! #85,160
Ted- I am happy to see you posting. I hope the pack is adjusting. My late male St. B. went into classic canine depression after his mate died. Then his aggressive bone cancer set in........ It's hard to fill that void. We do this best we can with what we got. Hang in there.

Buppies- I had to check the projected temperatures for my area for Christmas. 18F/30F and not much snow being modeled the next 10 days out so far.

For those so interested a relatively new and developing weather website: Weather Discussion and Discovery - WX Disco
It's a spinoff from Accuweather. It appears all the real weather brainiacs have followed. I have one post. There probably will not be many more. :embarrassed: I am happy I can (barely at best) understand some of the content.

Farmer- I hope your child is in recovery mode. A little kid with (assumed) chronic respiratory challenges (BTDT) does not deserve incompetent Dr's/NP's.

I hope that everyone is having a decent or at least a manageable Saturday.
