Good morning!!!!

Good morning. 10C/50F at daybreak, which is not bad at all for a dark December morning. If it stays dry I was thinking of cutting back some of the low branches that are growing out from the trees up by the roadside. Although the road is single track with a blind bend, some of the cars that use it go at crazy speeds. Sunday morning seems about the safest time for me as there is a good chance many of them will still be in bed when I walk down the road with a chainsaw.

David, it may have taken some time to skim out with a bucket, but that's still way better in my book than going at such a large area with pick and shovel. You must have done a good job as your supervisor doesn't look at all concerned.

Gracie, hope you remembered what Ellen said about keeping Randy happy and let him win the tug occasionally

:D

29 with a high of 34F. Wind ENE 23 gusting to 30 mph. Here comes the freezing rain! I sure hope it switches to snow quickly.
The good thing is that with the wind ENE all the trees that might be a threat to the house will fall away from said house. If the shed gets hit, that will be a blessing in disguise. The insurance can pay to take it down.

Have a good day all

Good morning all, 40 going to 63 with a 40% chance of rain. Computer keeps kicking out of google while on TBN so short this morning.

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

Nice sunshiny, dry day until just a bit ago. Dried out enough to pretty much get most of my pad prep by FEL done. Still some hand clean up for final elevations.
George, my concrete guy came by to look over the project. Pretty much on same sheet of music. Hopefully I can get basic forms in place and he値l come, drive pins, finesse, add rebar and mesh. Hopefully, not more than a day of labor then pour day with his masons. Told me concrete is running about $160/cuyd. ☹️ Hoping to get poured by end of year.

Here痴 some 20ft 2x4s just laid out to help me figure out my forms. I値l be drawing those out tonight.

Missed not having my backhoe for the digging on the slope. Digging with FEL on a multi directional slope is a challenge, especially when the clay gets wet and turns to grease. What you can稚 see is that is almost 2ft cut in places on left side.
Had thoughts of removing the control valve for rebuild but didn稚 get to it today, maybe Monday. I need to confirm it痴 a Nimco CV556.
All in all, a good productive day.

Looks like a very neat job. Are you using your dug out clay to fill in some of your dips?

42 going to 64...so let the woodstove go out. Rain has stopped for now.

RNG, I think this is the first time we've seen the wonderful site your house sits on...definitely can see the burn scars near you. Glad you got a chance to see your place, even if from a distance.

Buppies, glad Tech won...now bowl time.

Put up some Christmas lights yesterday...very pretty. Have some more to do today.

Yes VT won a made up game just to give them a chance to get in a bowl game not sure how I feel about that

Ed hope your computer issues get fixed

Went out yesterday evening to pickup something for dinner radio in truck acts funny then quits. Makes no difference what you punch or touch nothing. On way back from store it goes on and off on its own three times then goes into a mode I’ve never seen before. The letters sync come up the says updating and after about five minutes it’s back like nothing ever happened. I guess it needed to talk to the mother ship

Prayers for all

Weather front for those interested upcoming week cold in the east till changes start and by the upcoming weekend good size storm for east coast up to Maryland maybe all the way up the coast. Depends on timing maybe snow or mixed bag depending on where you are. By the 12th impressive warm up begins and the west turns cold and stormy. The large snow cover in Canada will begin to melt impressive warm up lasting till Christmas or maybe a little beyond before cold comes back affecting even Texas. How about it Jay what do you think?

Drinking first cup of coffee. 42° with fog this morning. Heading to 51° with afternoon rain. Made wife a mount for her iPad that she can use while cooking. iPad has a clamp on it that she cannot take off easily. For those looking for a mount/stand that can be adjust while sitting in a chair or laying down. This one works well for wife.
Plans for the day. Cleanup the mess I made in shop. Then try to get as many leaves as possible off net that covers garden pond.

RNG, I also had to look at where you place is on G maps. It's where I thought it was. But maps show a lot of water. Your picture shows what looks like a stream. Lots of black/burnt trees surrounding your place. Hope you get home soon.

David, going to be a nice slab of concrete.

Randy, I was doing the same with our dog yesterday. Good entertainment for both of us.

Ed, hope you get computer fixed.

Looking, stay away from trees that may fall from the ice.

Drew, Tractor looks good waxed and shiney. I will have to admit I have somewhat of a slacker keeping my tractor clean and waxed this year. But it still is running good underneath the dirt.

Prayers for all in need.

Good Morning All.

Ron, a dirty tractor is a happy tractor.

Sometime soon we will be losing the hydro, yet again. The lights have been flickering for the past hour or so.

Maybe later today I will fire up the tractor and go for a cruise to see what trees I can plow off the road.

34 right now with a rain/snow mix coming down. The walks are covered (about a quarter inch) but with the high being about 40, I expect they'll be pretty clear by the afternoon.

I tried the EGO snow blower on some frozen snow....it got through, but was very slow. No doubt, the blower will work well on powdery snow and OK on wet snow...but frozen snow is tough on the machine.

Lots of power outages over the past few days up at the cottage near Dorset, Bill. Not too sure what is going on there. They had a major upgrade to the power infrastructure not that long ago, but the power outages seem to have in fact gotten more frequent since then!

Anyway, raining again this morning, and not a heckuva Lotta snow left. The lake might not be skateable this Christmas!

Haven稚 been able to work last 2 days during the day. Having to pull night shifts. Youngest has the flu. Had to see two doctors yesterday to get the full diagnosis. Then had a useless discussion today with a supervisor of the first doctor. Will no longer use her. Fist diagnosis was for a cold/upper respiratory infection. I understand theyæ±*e all viruses but the flu requires extra prudence especially in a 2 year old with breathing problems already. Second time first doctor missed something. First time she missed a pneumonia in an infant. Doctor rolled his eyes and shook his head when I said I壇 seen a partner nurse practitioner the day before. He heard it in the scope and used X-ray to confirm.

Farmer and wife, I pray for your son and all, to get well and to get some rest. And that it doesn't spread. Viruses are a beeeotch.

RNG, patience is your best friend right now.

Drew, nice shiny new red tractor pic. Even waxed at that. Is the hood metal or the composite type? (not inviting any debates here, just noting an exceptional paint job.)

I went to the deere dealer yesterday. They had a 5055E MFWD cab tractor new, on sale for $32,599, but no FEL. The salesman says deere is making some tractors purposefully at 73 hp to stay under the DEF threshold of 75hp. I am in no market for a tractor. Just want to keep the ones we have in decent shape. Hard to believe but they are both 16 years old now.

The hydraulic part I will hopefully make is just the temporary split band that fills the internal groove to take the piston out. Deere wants $12.+ for a .25 cent part. If I don't turn it on the CNC lathe, I might just print it on the plastic 3D printer. The last time I bought and used one, it got torn up, making it a one time use part. If they made it out of a bit better plastic, it could be re used.

The light of day is just starting to make it's presence known here. 43F here. We turned off the AC. It was 80F yesterday and nice. Today, I will open the blinds and let the sun shine in.

Eric, I hate single lane, blind turns. Especially with people driving fast through them. Can you get the government to proactively clear some of the growth to make things safer? Or is it some growth on your land that you do not want taken down? Can they widen the lane?

Good to hear from FreedomLives, keep the home fires burning over there. Hope the neighbor doesn't like to eat goat meat, if he catches them snacking.

Randy, hope Ellen's migraines subside. They are nasty.

I am feeling much, much better with no pain. I have the appt on the 13th, to take a look see. Thank you all for the concerns.

Ed, I'm praying a bit extra for you and yours this am.

Many of you guys amaze me with your activeness. This must be a large key to long life and happiness.

RIP President Bush 41. A good man. He will be buried in College Station (town where I work) at his library. I used to work "a few stone throws" from the library.

Have any of you been keeping up with the serial killer who may have been responsible for 90 murders....Maybe the only good that could come out of this besides his death sentence, might be some closure for those affected. Apparently he was a rolling stone serial killer, not staying in any place for long.

good morning.
warm morning after getting two inches of rain last night.
60 out now going up to 74 degrees. Sound good Canadians?...;)
more rain/thunderstorms later.

headed out to see how little greenhouse survived its first big downpour. Looks to be in one piece...
I put six big stainless steel screws with big flat washers on them into the frame bottoms holding the whole thing down
into the wood base, which itself is screwed into the ground. Definitely need a contingency plan for high winds on this thing.

Think I'm going to work on cleaning up second floor of house now that exercise equipment is gone. Though if the sun comes out for a little while, hard to keep me inside. David, nice job on the dirt.

Larro, wherever you are, hope you are doing well. Same for David/Mossflower.

One thing I learned about EGO power tools that I'm sure doesn't surprise anyone is that when they are worked harder, the sound doesn't change but the battery runs out in less time.

I guess the same could be said of me. It didn't take long for me to run out of steam mowing yesterday.

33F 1" snow raining now low 40's for high.

The low this morning was 2° and no new snow for a change. Yesterday wasn't to bad mostly sunny and in the mid 30's. Today is going to be in the low 20's with a 40% chance of snow showers this afternoon.

The neighbor and I went for a ride in his side by side that he got tracks on last week. I was impressed we didn't have any problems with the 14 inches of snow that was on the trails or the hills. We also seen a few elk but my season is over with. But his wife still has a cow tag that is good for this area. He said he would take her back out this morning.

Not sure what my plans are for today.

Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday.
CWB.
