Good morning!!!!

38°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 55° today.

Wanted to get into the studio last night for some new project prep work, but ended up emptying the dishwasher and doing some laundry instead. Sucks when being a responsible adult gets in the way of the fun stuff. But, waddaya gonna do.

The Wife got a call yesterday from the landlord of the house in town they were looking at. The boys got it. Can't get in until 01 November, but The Wife said she'd start hauling stuff over there in her SUV during the weekdays next week. As much as I'm trying not to act too happy about this, I think she is trying even harder. She's been discussing furniture options for that soon-to-be-vacated bedroom for about a week now. We have a lot of antique furniture in storage, so it'll be some combination of that stuff.

I saw that dressed up ZTR on a Facebook post a couple days ago, Hawkeye. I was thinking that might be the ticket to solving our mole/groundhog/skunk problem. I'd have to get new dies to reload for that minigun, though. I suspect it empties brass with a quickness.

I noticed yesterday during the drive home that some of the trees around here aren't as green as they used to be. No real vivid colors yet, but things are starting to turn red and yellow in spots.

Ed, I have never understood people going out in public in their pajamas. It's one thing to walk across your own lawn to pick up the morning paper. But to go into town and into a store ... ? I've been seeing girls do this for several years. Not sure I'm ready to see guys doing it, too. Sagging pants and flaunting undies is bad enough.

First ride! That has to be a great feeling, RNG. Congrats.

Went to early voting yesterday and the line stayed at 40 people long all day with 15 voting booths and 10 minute wait I figure 3,000 people were able to vote on the first day.

We went by to vote and decided to wait until later because of the crowd. The local newspaper says Denton County had a new record of 17,278 early voters yesterday. And I went to do a little grocery shopping this morning, and see the parking lot is still full at our city hall, so the crowds are still bad today, too.

But we WILL vote; just don't know exactly when.

We got our absentee ballots couple weeks ago. Haven't opened them yet. But am making a list of who not to vote for based on their BS TV and radio ads

PJ, I have not been wearing PJ's out. But the sweats I have been wearing are very close. Kind of hard to put jeans on with one arm.

Good morning. It's spitting rain and 66F. Just got our new generator from Amazon yesterday afternoon, so the first wiifii I've had in a while. Margie, Sister, BIL and I are all fine. House did great. Some minor damage. Lost the pole barn, pump house, Mamma's trailer, the roof off two sheds, and there is a tree on another shed. For the whole farm, we lost 8-10 barns and sheds, and I haven't been to the creek land yet.

The timber took it on the chin. Most all big trees are down. Except the one at the end of the house that I always worry about on windy nights. I'm not going to worry about it anymore.

It looks like I'm out of the pine straw business. Mostly out of the pine business too. We have a few acres of 3 year old long leaf that is alright. Everything else will have to be harvested to be able to use the land. Old growth included.

The view from my back deck.

My old two row planter is in a shed that will take a couple of three hours of chainsawing to get to. So I'm not worried about it getting stolen.

PJ, I have not been wearing PJ's out. But the sweats I have been wearing are very close. Kind of hard to put jeans on with one arm.

I can't deride anyone who wears sweat pants in public. They are my leisure pants of choice. In fact, I used to have a job where the dress code was very ... shall we say, loose. I spent ten years there wearing sweat pants and T-shirts every day. As that place was in the process of closing down back in '03, one of the production supervisors came into my office pointing and laughing and saying, "Ha ha ... now you're going to have to get a real job and wear real pants."

I wear jeans and a polo at my job now, but I still wear sweat pants when I'm at home. At 52, I'm not likely to break that habit anytime soon.

Wishing you well with the arm, Ron.

We've all been pulling for you through that storm, Larro, and it's very good to year you and yours are safe. All that damage is a hard blow to take, though. Sorry to hear it. How long do you think it'll be before your power is back on?

That's really looking for the silver lining, Larro! At least if you can keep the wreckage from falling in, your planter will be fine!

Maybe we need a Good Morning!!!! convoy to come down there and help out for a week or two? Who's in?
