Coffee Has finished brewing. 38° with a few clouds this morning. Heading to 50° with mostly sunny skies. Slept in this morning. Never did get to try Drill Doctor out. On today's list plus put a couple coats of conditioner on butcher block countertop.

RNG, we need pictures or maybe a video of the running bike. Liked last video you posted.

Randy, enjoy the trip now that Ellen is feeling better.

Good Morning All.

Thomas I値l do what I can

Bird rain is for mid week

Yep, nice sunny day yesterday, 54 to 69 degrees and sunny with a "slight" chance of showers today, but 90% chance of rain again tomorrow. I'm still confident that it'll stay dry long enough sometime in the future to mow the lawns again. Of course, the cool weather has sure slowed down the grass growth. My own yard is a disaster area now.

Good morning! 54˚ all the rain is south of here so Kyle and Rick are getting wet.

Went to early voting yesterday and the line stayed at 40 people long all day with 15 voting booths and 10 minute wait I figure 3,000 people were able to vote on the first day.

Got Mom situated for another week and even got her a new electric frying pan. I took her to town and she used her new 3 wheeled walker and stayed upright.

Eric, project gestation periods may vary, now that's funny. . .

35 going to a high of 42F. Wind E 9 mph. Rain or snow is in the forecast.

I shoved the hoe back the two feet it was wasting and tried putting the trailer in to straddle the subframe on it, that didn't work (one wheel of the trailer sitting on the subframe which is a no, no), so I threw the trailer out and parked the Jeep inside. The door shuts, just barely. The trailer will live outside in the snow all winter, the good thing is that it is on gravel. The Dodge, dock box for the boat and the ride-on mower all fit in the new shelter. Hydro is run to it as well and I got a new remote controller for the block heater wired in.

The town council just south of me ( pop. 600) voted to allow a weed store to open. Now we wait until some enterprising fellow invests the loot. It wont be me, that is for sure. I will continue to buy my MMJ the same way and the same dealer as always.

I managed to level the drive way where it was starting to rut, yesterday as well. It is not pretty, but it is level, more or less. I still haven't cut the ditch to drain the standing water off my snow dump. That wont get done until next year, now.

My buddy with diverticulitis is coming along great! His surgeon took about a foot of large intestine out of him. He gets the poop bag off next month. He has already gotten the 'urge', went to park on the throne and farted! YES! I don't want to loose him. Chronologically, he is 30 years younger than me, but still the best foreman ever.

Have a good day all

a little warmer today, 42 going up to 71 in cloudy skies. I have a small field to bush hog, then need to start putting equipment away for the winter.
Headed to Massey dealer on Thursday to talk about a new 4707, see what I'd get on a trade for the larger Massey. I think if I put it out at the end of the lane, as shiny red as it is, it would sell quickly. Only question is whether to sell the five foot almost new Bush Hog with it; whatever I get will be a full size larger and I'd need a six or seven foot cutter. This is the enabler, a new style hitch adapter I hope will make this easier on me:

Good Morning!!!! 56F @ 5:30AM. Partly cloudy. High 72F. Winds light and variable.

Good news on your buddy's recovery, L4N. I hope the progress continues!

Too bad the shoulder season isn't a little less popular for your trip, Randy, but I guess that's what happens as the wave of Baby Boomers moves on into retirement! Time to get friendly, love yer neighbor, and stand in line...:confused2:

You guys make me sound like some kind of midwife! Instead, I do consider myself something of a caretaker, as these projects are mine only as long as I'm able to use and care for them. Then they move on to someone who will hopefully give them the time and maintenance they need, and who will be rewarded with a very enjoyable experience. That said, though, when something has accumulated thirty years of use and abuse at other hands, there are bound to be surprises and setbacks along the way. Yesterdays was finding that flattening the sealing surface on the valve cover didn't stop the leak, so today the head and barrel come back off so the mating surface can be similarly treated. Two steps forward, one step back. But I did get about a twenty mile ride in, and oh how sweet it was! The engine and transmission worked very well, and with the low final drive ratio, acceleration was quite zippy. Steering with the wide handlebar is very low effort and the handling is nice and nimble. I was a bit surprised at how high the thing sat, but I think the stronger modern springs are making it sit higher than the original designers intended. But I guess more ground clearance is better than not enough. I did stop with the intention of taking a photo, but the center stand is very difficult to deploy and the side stand hasn't been mounted yet, as I need a couple of circlips for it. And the seat that is on it is original and part of the other R80 G/S that is in the rafters awaiting its turn on the lift, and what used to be an unorthodox bright orange vinyl cover has faded to a sad shade of pale salmon that clashes wonderfuly with the bright red candy apple paint. The proper seat needs a set of rubber buffers to hold it up off the frame rails, and those are being somewhat difficult to locate, even at McMaster-Carr. More head scratching is called for.

My plans to sort some wiring on the van were twarted by a lack of documentation from the mechanic on just what is connected to what between the Subaru and VW engine wiring harnesses. The mechanic has assured me several times that the documentation is available, I just have to find a way to get my copy of it.:confused2:

I was sleeping hard this morning when the alarm went off.. got up, daughter had plugged coffee percolator in already, so coffee was ready. Got to my desk just in time for what I thought was 7am meeting.. oops, no meetings today, how did that happen? Probably a good thing, I need to go through the open enrollment stuff and complete wellness assessment. I can watch granddaughter and let my wife sleep in..

I texted daughter that is developing property to see if she wanted me to come retrieve the car trailer. They had it unloaded and ready to pickup so we got to visit in the daylight and see their progress.. it is exciting to see, but I'm glad we did ours when we were young. I wouldn't want to try developing land and building now.

headed out to mow a couple acre field with the Massey and bush hog. May be the last job for that tractor.
Then will spend rest of day shining it up. A little fluff and puff...;)
I'll put a coat of carnauba cleaner wax on that Ferrari red hood that will make it dazzle.

Appointment on Thursday morning with Massey dealer. Have to drive by JD dealer to get there. Likely to stop in on the way back.
Supposed to rain that day. Perfect day for screwing around with tractors.

Laid all my seed packets out on the new kitchen cart, perfect temporary use for it, and realized I had forgotten a few things plus I needed
more cabbage. Put another order into rareseeds.com Next year will be about half the varieties , sticking with what I know now will work.
Though I did get several varieties of Italian sweet red peppers for barbecuing, some foodie varieties and not what you get on the hardware store rack.

Warmed up enough, too cold out for me at 7am and now it's not even light out then. Bummer and brrrr. At least we have the holidays to look forward to. And for me a ton of machinery to winterize.
Took my veggies down to food pantry and said could be the last, depends upon frost.
Time to get a move on. I intend to go have some fun on a tractor. Life is good.
