just signed a propane prepay deal for $2.09 a gallon. 4 years ago it was $1.85 and it has been going up every year.
That price must make farmers smile, because they pay a fraction of that, but some of you I bet are paying a lot more than two bucks a gallon.
Makes me want to put up solar panels...

I just wish my main fireplace, in the den, worked better to heat the house. Two small doorways and no air flow out of that room, so the room gets hot as can be and not much heat goes elsewhere. A fireplace insert would be great and I have tons of wood to burn. Unfortunately the den/tv room is not where I spend much time.

I stick it in the console out of sight Don, and you are absolutely right. Either way has risk.

42 and going to a high of 55F. Wind WSW 7 mph. A few showers is what they forecast.

I've got nothing planned for today, other than go back to the hardware store and get me a 1/2" drive extension.

I checked the engine filter on the Dodge yesterday and it is new. The cabin filter was a tad dirty, so that got changed. The engine filter is going for 40 bux + tax. In the future (next spring) I will get a K&N filter and just wash it once a year like I do for the Jeep.

Look what I saw yesterday at about 2:20 in the afternoon

I got me a door fan for just that problem. It is mounted at the top corner of the door and sucks the heat from the hot part of the house and blows it into the cooler part. Works good and you soon get used to the noise of a fan running.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 32° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 58° with rain in afternoon. Got all my projects done yesterday. Wait I did not have any. Same thing today. Except take dog to groomer. No more just sending her to neighbors,. They moved last week.

Rural Living, I think I live in a rural area. Cannot drive tractor to get fuel. But all the big box stores are within 5 miles of my place. Most people that live in my community do not realize how rural this area is. They stay on the paved roads. The township is mostly zoned RIR. Minimum 3 acres. But many of the lots are 5 plus acres. A idea of how rural it is are video's I posted a couple of weeks ago.

Good Morning All.

a chilly 44 going up to 71 today, a nice sunny day.

Don, I never set up the Homelink garage door openers in my car, worried that if car stolen, easy to drive right into my home. It's clunky looking but I still use the clicker that comes with it. Besides, with digital openers, the process is a pain.
My wifes car has Homelink.Set it up over 3 years ago. It will open both our garage doors. Chamberlain door openers. They are also linked to our iPhones. Nice feature. Allows me to see if doors are open without going outside. Not worried about vandals. But Racoons and like have made a mess when we forgot to close one of the doors.
Does your Audi have this options?

Yes, homelink has been out a long time. On the truck too. I've just never used it. thanks

32 this morning, first freeze this fall. 65 later today.

My 1996 Seville STS had HomeLink its been around a while. It can be added to any vehicle other than some pure electric cars.

Have a good day,God bless.

I don't have anything as fancy as Ron has, but our 2017 Ford Escape Titanium has the button on the driver's sun visor to open the garage door, and when we got the car I was surprised at how easy it was to set it up with our Liftmaster door opener. Our 2012 Escape still has the old fashioned door opener clipped on the sun visor.

Good morning to all! Low of 35, going up to 62. Heavy fog this morning. Had almost 1/2" of rain in the gauge over the last 3 days, far less than the folks in Texas.

Going off to work in a little bit. Short day so won't be bad. Maybe a couple errands afterwards.

Don't have any electric openers. Don't even have handles on the outside of the doors. Have to go in through the man door, and remove 2 slide bars on each door. Not taking any chances. As long as I can walk...they stay this way.

Randy, have fun on your upcoming road trip. Sounds like it will be nice.

Everyone have a great day, prayers sent.

Rng. Good looking bumpers. Nice to hear something is finally close for that van. I致e been looking at ranch hand bumpers for my new truck. They weigh 300 lbs. without the winch. Need to price them. That will determine how feasible they will be. That痴 a lot of weight to add.

I share your concern about bumper weight, Farmer. A local builder makes steel bumpers, but each end weighs more than 100 pounds. That's like carrying an extra person around with you everywhere you go! If that weight isn't getting you special features and you don't need the strength for a winch, keep looking until you find something lighter.

FWIW, I weighed my rear bumper yesterday and came up with 61 pounds. That includes the steel reinforcing structure around the receiver, all the hardware for mounting it, and the thick coat of bed liner. I forgot to weigh the front bumper before I put it on, but it doesn't have any reinforcement, and felt about half the weight.

It was 29° again this morning, yesterday was in the mid 50's and clear. They are saying that it will be in the low 60's and sunny for today.

Payed the bill for trailer yesterday and it was less then he had told me by almost 3 hundred dollars. That doesn't happen every often.

Need to change the trailer brake control on the truck today. I found that it wasn't working when I brought the trailer back the other day.

It's Friday, hope everyone gets a good start to the weekend.

That's a good point, Drew. Last time I was at the DMV, I asked the lady if we were required to carry the registration papers in the vehicle, and was told "yes". That means if a thief breaks into the car, they can look in the glove box and read the owner's address on the registration, then drive to the house and use the garage door opener to get into the garage.

I don't do it every time, but I'm trying to make a habit of flipping the little button on the garage door opener wall switches to disable them when I leave the house. What I'd really like to do is say something like "Hey Siri, I'm leaving the house" and have Siri turn off all the lights and HVAC, turn on the alarm system, and disable those doors. If I installed Homekit enabled AC wall switches on each of the opener power leads, I'd have everything but turning on the alarm system. Not sure I'm comfortable having that accessible over the Innernet.

L4N - nice looking little fox. Send him to Texas Kyle has some chickens he might be interested in if the snakes and hawks don't eat them first.

He is too well fed here, eating my cats.

My 2013 Dodge has a remote garage door opener, not programmed because I don't have a garage door that needs to be opened.

Do you have central heat, Drew? If so, can you turn on the fan without running the heater or A/C unit? If that's also an affirmative, the fan should circulate your fireplace heat throughout the house, cooling the den and taking the edge off the cold everywhere else.

Fireplace inserts are very good these days as well. Very efficient and clean burning, with enough thermal mass to stay warm all day with just one burn, at least when temps are in the 50s. Now all you need is a splitter and a bunch of pallets on which to stack all that firewood you'll be collecting.

The engine filter is going for 40 bux + tax. In the future (next spring) I will get a K&N filter and just wash it once a year like I do for the Jeep.

Careful with those K&N filters. Spend some time reading about filter efficiency and you'll learn that the K&N when freshly oiled lets in lots of particles large enough to prematurely wear out your engine. They actually filter better when dirty because the dirt blocks the big holes in 'em! And as far as the performance claims, the factory paper filter can pass far more air than the typical passenger car will ever need. I figure I can buy a LOT of factory air filters for what it costs for new valves and rings and bearings.

Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 7:00AM. Sunny. High 84F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.

Hope all of you out there dealing with health issues make good progress back to wellness. With the cooling temps, everyone'll be spending more time cooped up together, and cold season will be in full swing. Time to get those flue shots, too, something I don't particularly look forward to...

The new Vehicle Speed Sensor from Canada showed up yesterday, and I installed it in time for my trip to town. The rev limiter still kicks in at 4000 RPM in 4th gear, which is right about 67 MPH. And no, PJ, that isn't fast enough around here to keep up with traffic, so I find a slow moving semi truck and tuck in behind him when I get to the freeway. So today I'm going to buy a OBD 2 code reader and find some software for the iPad and figure out what's going on. I suspect they sent me the wrong VSS, but without any way to measure what the EMU thinks is the vehicle speed, I'll never be able to proove it to the seller.:muttering:

Also need to learn how to adjust the transmission shift linkage, as it's difficult to get into first and second gear. Bad enough that it popped out of first a couple times yesterday, and I really hate the sound of grinding gears trying to get it back in...

But the bed liner sure looks nice on those bumpers!

TGIF gang!:drink:
