Morning all! The wife and I are half way thru a 14 day trip in Alaska, 7 days on a ship and 7more on trains and buses. first time on wifi since last Tuesday. What beautiful views! Will catch up with everyone later. Hope everyone is good.

That’s a dream vacation for me. I told my wife once the farm is paid for we would take a whole summer and tour the western US and Alaska. She isn’t as excited as me.

66°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 86° today with some rain expected later this afternoon.

Carpenter got the roof finished over the house yesterday, and was already working on the garage when I left for work this morning.

Wife sent me a text message a few minutes ago telling me she's having mower troubles again. May be time to trade her old Dixon SpeedZTR for something a little more reliable and tougher. It's starting to get maintenance-heavy. She had it for several years before we married, and it's done the job pretty well. I just don't think it was built to withstand long-term use on rough ground. Maybe look at some end of season sales later this year.

Did you see this one from Oregon. Woman finds Mountain Lion on her couch. Don't leave your door open.

Good dig, Ron. That cat just made itself at home, behind her couch. Hard to miss all the wacked out psychic BS on the original FB post, and even in the comments. That woman's very lucky she didn't end up as kitty kibble.

Good Afternoon Everyone!!!!!

David- Your workshop table area is neat and orderly. You guys are a good influence on me as to (becoming) "neat & orderly." Your kitchen table and kitchen area are awesome. I never heard/read the descriptor "foodie" before; I guess I am one . Our ~3'X~5' teak kitchen table can extend to ~3'X~8' during those rare times we entertain guests. We've packed ~12 people in the past. It was cozy. We have 58 s.f. of counter top including sink area. I designed the kitchen prior to the remodeling. I have/could have 3 work areas in an open "kitchen triangle" layout. I probably would like an air fryer, but the Cuisinart, VitaMix, and toaster oven have taken up a fair amount of countertop area......... I still have some available space in the kitchen appliance cave.

Drew- Good luck with the dermatologist. I never saw melons split from excessive water before.

Billy- Thanks for sharing the hummingbird pictures. It was a madhouse here yesterday at the two feeders. There were at least 4, maybe 6 hummers doing their ariel antics. Awesome bill fight displays.

Steppenwolfe- Congratulations on the 37 years of wedded bliss. It takes a sense of humor and some work to make a marriage work.

Randy- I am happy to read the knee is better. 4" spike heels are hard on the knees. ;)

Ted- I am sorry to read about your MCL healing process. My ACL rehab seemed almost tame compared to yours. I hated "light duty." I had to rewrite 100's maybe a 1000 "billable" treatment hour progress and "clinical" evaluation reports of my staff and colleagues to bring their reports into compliance with Medicaid/Medicare requirements and sign them off. Luckily no one shot the "author."

Phil- I wish you and your wife a great time, great eats, and great sceneries during the second 1/2 of your vacation. I am looking forward to some vacation pictures.

Roy- I wish you a safe return trip home.

This unstable tropical air mass with brief periods of sun percolating up rain showers, torrential downpours, and Tstorms continues. We received ~3" of rain yesterday; probably +4" so far this week. My roof repair held and I was finally able to stop the :censored: foundation leak this AM with ~2#'s of hydraulic cement, but yesterday's wind driven rain revealed some lifted roof flashing. Our polybutylene roof is ~25 years old. It may be time for a new roof; maybe a metal roof over the existing roofing material?

Bonehead Brogen and I encountered old Mr. Woodchuck out in the open during our last walk  Old Mr. Woodchuck showed some serious "out of the hole" speed bolting into one of his holes. Brogen did not go into "Nantucket Sleighride" mode.

I got a call from the St. Bernard Rescue this AM. There is a 2 y.o. male in ME that needs a new home. Too early for another St. B at this point; especially with no knowledge of Brogen's canine sociability. :(

Wifey and I are hooking up with our exBIL for dinner tonight.

That's the news here. I hope everyone has a manageable day today.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.
