Good morning, low temp is 29 and the high to 52°F. Wind ESE 11 mph. 30% chance of showers.

Two more loads off to the dump from the neighbours' place. Now I have some places to put her snow this winter. I went over with the tractor after I got the trailer home (I have a few more loads to go to the dump out of this place), and cleaned up a couple of rotten stumps.
There are three more to go but they will have to wait until spring after I get the BH back on.

The heater blower motor is only working on 'high', I may pull the roof off today and see if the resistor I got for the Jeep will work on the tractor. A resistor is a resistor, right? I also want to put a couple of LED headlights in the place of the work lights.

Nice Blue Jay, Ron.

Have a safe day all

26 right now...high in the low 50's today...

Just got a call from my stepdaughter...she and wife are heading to the Gillette airport for a series of flights home. They should be home about 1730 today...

Gotta do something about Margeaux's barking...and she is a barker. Neighbors complained yesterday. She's a sweetie, but like any Great Pyrenees (per the DNA report, she's 80+% Great Pyrenees), she's got her own mind...
One bad thing about getting a rescue dog is if they weren't trained during puppyhood, it's harder to train them after 8 or 9 months.
Hate to use a shock collar, but might have to. Any recommendations?

Couple meetings this afternoon...that's about it today...

Since I had a lot of cardboard (we're Amazon freaks here) to take to the dump, I didn't go yesterday due to it being quite breezy. The stuff goes in the open bed of the Tacoma and I have no interest in stopping to retrieve cardboard blown out of the bed (been there before). It can wait until Saturday...

Phil, your pens are great. Being a teak guy, I like the one in the middle.
what do you use for ink cartridges?
Right now I'm just using the cartridges that came with my Slimline kit. It had 10 different kinds to try.

Morning all!
27 here only going to 52. Need to dig out more coats. Nothing on the agenda today except a furnace cleaning this afternoon at the apartment house. Wife goes to doctor tomorrow for her ankle and can't wait.
Nothing else going on.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

Roy, if you have a wood stove, the cardboard from amazon boxes makes good fire starter.
but save the really big pieces to lay down on in the garage...

I really do wonder what happens to all the Amazon packaging I so carefully put in the recycle bin.

Good Morning.
It’s 31 and going to just over 50 under cloudless skies today.

Yesterday’s trip went well, quite breezy, but relatively smooth regardless. Got home just as the photo shoot was packing up, so I missed it. But did get to load bales of pine shavings and restock the feed bins in the barn. I must be toughening up, I moved about 1000 lbs of stuff, and didn’t tire me out. I voted, and picked up new glasses. Overall a productive day.

Apparently my smoked meats are popular amongst the locals, I’m smoking brisket to bring to the local VFD by popular request for their meeting tomorrow night. That means a trip to Costco this morning, so I can get it started this evening.
Maybe I’ll run into Drew, but I’m guessing he might go to a different store.

Actually, I do have some to use in the garage...I'd written in a post a few days ago about having to grease the tractor's front axle...and that's what I use the cardboard for...lying under the tractor.
The cardboard taken to the dump goes into a big dumpster (separate from the other trash). I assume it's recycled

Whipper is a barker also but the NON-SHOCKING bark color has trained the old dog not to bark. It makes a piercing sound only the dog can hear when she barks and if she continues barking it will vibrate. It is sound activated. If she does forget and sees something exciting it is usually just a half bark and then her reminders set in.

They have newer models at Amazon than the one we bought years ago so I can't recommend a specific one I have not tried. They make them rechargeable now. Just do a search on "bark collar" on Amazon and check out the reviews. StopWoofer is the name of Whippers collar. It's good the collars are now rechargeable, the special battery for Whippers collar is about $5, and last for 6-8 weeks.

She seems to know when she does not have the collar on, so when we put her out late at night or early in the morning she gets to wear her collar.

Morning all, chilly , but sun is up and moon is setting.
Dropped kid off at school so wife could rest. She is starting to get better.
Brother is home from hospital with new working knee.

View as I left polling station yesterday afternoon.

Good morning! This is the first time the Tempest weather station is not reporting, I guess the battery finally gave out, good thing the Tempest Support person saw that the station was in "saver mode" yesterday and a new weather station is on the way. My stand-by temp gauge says it is 66˚F outside and partly cloudy.

My "work" vacation will be coming to an end in 2 weeks as I'm back on the schedule for the tractor trailer rides. I'm starting to miss that place when I'm off for a while.

Mostly I will not be tackling the repair of the shuttle shift on the New Holland. It looks like the Fall Festival on weekends before Oct 31 is the only time two tractors are used so it will be another 11 months before I need to drive it again.

I have planted some kale in the garden as my winter cover crop and need some more veggies, so that is on the agenda today along with adding compost and to the garden and setting up the irrigation again.

great idea using audio alerter instead of voltage shocker.

I am going to a different Costco than Popgadget. But I think they are all pretty close to same layout inside.
Dug out some good walking shoes with extra thick soles, ready to walk the aisles.
I do wonder about wearing a mask. Mostly for the flu. Though I did just get my booster alligator and flu shot.

Delaware River sure is pretty Ken. Been looking at that River on and off all my life.
Most of it around here is too rocky for boats.
years ago floated down the River from Point Pleasant on a rubber tube with a few others.
I think we came back in at New Hope. Nice way to spend a hot summer day.

Probably a good idea if you do wear a mask...I'm not convinced they're really effective though

Drew, a mask can't hurt. I noticed 5 or 6 people at the polling place wearing masks but they were mostly surgical masks. My understanding is that surgical masks are not great at preventing you from breathing in airborne germs. They mainly keep you from coughing or sneezing on other people. I got a box of Honeywell N-95 masks in case things get worse and I have to go to crowded places. They fit me really well. I think the rubber bands are a little tighter so they keep the mask sealed against your face. They will be handy in the shop and barn when the dust is flying too.

Chris and Roy, thank you. I have tons of KN95 masks left over, light grey, kind of blends in.
