49 right now...high in the mid-70's...

Audit's going fine...2 minors at our plant. The closing meeting will be this morning, and the auditor should be on his way out by noon. We had two auditors...first guy (lead auditor) had to leave about noon yesterday. The rest of the cluster (we're part of a three site organization) aren't doing as well, but better than the last audit a year back.
Long day yesterday...0500 in to hit 3rd shift...knock off at 1715

Good morning, the last time we had any significant rain was on 2nd June and now our usually green landscape has turned brown. Steam trains occasionally pass this way and I am getting a little concerned about how dry the grass is that runs from the railway right up to the back of the tractor shed. A couple of embankment fires have been caused by flying sparks on the Severn Valley rail line, which is not too far away. They are now only running diesels there, not so sure that applies on this line

With the Grillo mower away for repair the grass has grown long and it would be quite a lot to cut with the Stihl. Some heavy showers are predicted for today and tomorrow, however they are going to be few and far between. I may have the advantage as they don't know about my cunning plan... Yesterday I prepared another section of brickwork for repointing (Ed, that rake worked well on the narrow joints) and today I intend to lure in the clouds by mixing up some sacrificial lime mortar for the rain to wash away.

Mostly, that's an impressive looking truck. Good luck with the instruction manual. It's hard to believe that we once managed with steering wheels that had only a single switch to sound the horn. Nowadays they all seem to be cluttered with 20 or more buttons, all designed to make our lives so much better

I must be lucky, I don't have an issue with PTO couplers, although now it's going to be quite a while before I will be able to handle one without thinking of Wngsprd !

Good morning all.

Temp is down to the 50s and raining in Thunder Bay, ON.

We got rained out yesterday (can't lay this stuff in the rain) and it looks like we will get rained out again today. Us two tanker drivers still get paid (8hrs). That is $240. + $70. room and board AND I get to reset my logbook (comic book) again.
I am parked on 'party row' in the truckstop, but if the rain continues I will move up closer to the restaurant. My knee doesn't like the 750 foot walk from party row to the store/restaurant.

I have the gen set running and my little electric heater on low to drive the dampness out of the cab and bunk. I think I will go back to bed.

Have a safe day all

Good morning all, 65 going to 84 and mostly sunny. Got a nice shower yesterday afternoon, got a .10 in. First rain in a while and a Eric and others have said things are brown in spots. Rearranged the shop and mounted the vice to the work bench. Not sure what I will do today, will see.

Eric, glad the rake jointer helped, hope the bait mortar works. Do you put hair in it?

Mostly, pretty truck but you will have to paint the boat to match. :)

Have a great day, prayers sent. Ed

We don't get individual notices around here, but a burn ban is in effect for several counties over most of north central Texas, and has been for awhile. The NWS is, and has been, forecasting a 50% chance of rain each afternoon, and several places have had such in the last couple of days, but not a drop in my area.

We don't get individual notices either. I am signed up on the townships Facebook account. That's where the notice showed up.

Thinking of you Buppies, hoping for a clean bill of health.

69 outside this AM, heading toward lower 90's. A lot less humid than yesterday. Most of the front cut and baled. More today, plus need to get on the mowers. Grass has thinned out and in some spots is dormant. Wow. Seems like a switch turned off.

Have a great day all, be safe.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 48° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 85° with mostly sunny skies. Started on a new shop project. Making a 3 ph trailer hitch. Will not be pretty. Using scrap metal and hitch parts to make it. Got dog back from vet yesterday evening. Look on her face, Why do I have to wear this recovery collar. I did take it off for a few minutes so she could eat and drink easily.

Mostly, Ed is right. Truck and boat colors should match. Nice truck.

wngsprd, I am a electric shaver person. I have tried to go back to a razor. But always end up with razor burn.

Roy, good news on audit.

Looking, stay dry.

Good Morning All. Prayers sent.

Had to edit this mornings temperature. It dropped 2 degrees in less than 1/2 hour.

It’s not uncommon here for farmers to plow a 10 foot wide strip of ground parallel to roadways and railroad tracks to act as a fire break, Eric. Some are even wider, and go on for hundreds of yards.
