Good evening all. 75F this morning, overcast, light wind. Looked like rain all day, showers got with a few miles, but no rain. Overcast all day moderate wind and high temp of 88F. Board of directors meeting recap this morning, Irrigation guy showed up, had 2 zones not working, control modules needed replacing, went to stepdaughter's house and watered plants, needed to clean my work bench but not enough starting energy. Have some bike maintenance to do as well. Starting and ending photos. No photo of my workbench as it looks like Buckeyes's dad's workbench:ashamed::eek:
Don nice workbench:D

Warm mix is asphalt that is injected with water based additives. It is acceptable to VDOT and as such pollutes less and the smell associated with asphalt is almost nonexistent. The additives added are water based and the binder (asphalt cement) is thinner allowing for cooler temperatures to be used. The end result is that the mix may be hauled further and compaction of the mix is easier to achieve. Most plants locally have the ability to produce warm mix. Price is the same, hopefully this helps

How's the durability of the warm mix compared to traditional asphalt, Buppies?

The experts say better performance and has been used successfully in Europe for a number of years. Personally because of the the binder used now multi grade vs what was used in the 70s and 80s single grade all mixes are not as good nor as long lasting but I am stuck in the past and opinions are like you know what mine included.if you want to know more pm me and I will answer as best that I can

In direct answer to your question I notice no difference between warm mix and hot mix as to its performance

Made pretty good progress today

But still time consuming sort and purge of screws, nuts, bolts, nails, etc. wish I had the organizers I’ve ordered from HF, but at least I can do a course sort for now.

Hope you all have a good day.

Well, parts of Texas. We haven't had any rain in awhile and sure do need it. But I'm about 20 miles north of Dallas. 76 degrees this morning, forecast to go to 90 with a 50% chance of rain. Maybe it will rain today, since I've got to leave home at 6 a.m. to go take our granddaughter to a doctor's office in one city, then go to a hospital in another city where our daughter is scheduled for surgery this morning. I figure it's gonna be a long day.

Cooler this morning in Bennington Vermont. 56 degrees. Didn't get much accomplished yesterday. Shopping and the install of the cable/internet took most of the day with a trip to take 4 year old to her gymnastics lesson. It's a treat to watch her but I have to stay out of sight more. She sees me and waves and runs to talk to me. Her instructor might be giving me "the look". Sure looks similar to the one my wife gives me occasionally.

With the big TV set up in the living room and only a couple of chairs, I mentioned to my wife how nice it was without the clutter. She told me don't even try it.
Since I threw her living room and dining room furniture into the old house sale(I profess that I didn't want to load and unload it!), I'm on the hook for new furniture. And it appears I must go help "pick it out".
Yeah right.
It'll have delivery though. Putting my foot down. I managed to beg off the rest of the week but that'll be the extent of my delays I'm afraid.

To all, best wishes and Good day.
Lenny

Last evening Mrs. gently remove 2 ticks that just started to bore into me,must have caught them when mowing side field.
Plans for today... I remove paper wasp nest almost size of soccer ball last evening in the peek of the house, now have to figure way reach story half to clean wasp base off the siding. than spread Orthro ant grub tick pellets around the house and spray under deck for beehives.
Time to feed little critters.

Enjoy the day all.

Hope all goes well Bird.

70 going to 89 and probably storms.

Bird, prayers for your daughter's surgery.

Lenny, enjoy your furniture shopping by looking for a nice comfortable recliner while your wife looks at the things she wants...test many recliners...take naps in each one...make sure your decision making lasts as long as it takes for her to complete the rest of the shopping. :)

Thomas, careful with those biting and stinging creatures.

Was mowing yesterday, watching the sky for an approaching storm...however, with none of the usual cool wind and scattered drops for warnings, the sky suddenly dumped big silver dollar rain drops thick as can be...so I drove back full speed to the tractor barn and was stuck there while we got 1.3" of hard rain. Got up on my tractor since it was facing out of the door so I could watch the rain better, listening to the loudest rain on the tin roof I've ever heard. One lightning bolt was so bright with an immediate thunder boom...caused me to jump and kicked the brake pedal with the side of my ankle...yeah, I let out a bit of a scream, too. I just knew it must have hit a tree or ground near me. I texted my wife, back at the house and she said it scared her and Coco, too. It was a very strange and exciting storm.

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High near 90F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

You're a brave and clever man, Thomas, and I hope you didn't get nailed by any of those wasps and bees!

Hope everyone stays safe in summer thunderstorms.

Thanks for the asphalt lesson, Buppies!

Keeping the garage doors shut helps keep out the heat and I managed to spend a good amount of time out there yesterday. Got the front end off the little Trail 90 and learned that one fork leg is fairly badly pitted at the top of the stroke. Tried to stone out the pits but they're too deep. While shopping for a replacement fork tube, I found a company selling complete fork legs with improved seals and heavier springs for not much more than just the tubes themselves, which seem to not be available separately anyway. The news didn't stop there, as the replacement bearings I tried to install in the steering didn't fit, but it was too late in the day yesterday to make inquiries as to why. Guess I know what I'll be doing later today.

Sheesh, it's already Wednesday. Happy Hump Day gang!

Good morning! 74˚ chance of showers this afternoon. It rained here on and off yesterday so no golf balls. I have no idea how much it rain because I have not set up a rain gauge. The next problem would be where to set it up where the automatic sprinklers won't fill it up. A Costco run took away from my tool chest shopping yesterday so that is still on the agenda. One house in the neighborhood reported coral Snakes so Whipper still has a job if they move this way. However everyone here calls the volunteer "Snake Wrangler" to come and transplant the snakes.
