Kyle, hope you get that girl fixed up. Nothing worse than sick kids.
Don, that’s some nice work!
Drew, I’ve had excellent results with my Lacrosse weather station, but it’s so old they stopped supporting it a few months ago, I’m looking to replace it, but I won’t spend a fortune. If it’s 15 when it says 16 or the wind is 2mph faster than my anemometer says, I’m over it! I’m just interested in general conditions as they affect me.

I'm surprised with all my inflammation in my hands and wrists and elsewhere no one has suggested I take prednisone. I have some in the medicine cabinet, but for bee stings and rashes.
I took a "pred pack" once and since they have you take three pills or some heavy dose to start, my face turned the shade of a tomato. Not good. Haven't taken it since. Likely the dose was way too high, but surely a powerful drug. I already take a lot of arthritis meds, celebrex, gabapentin, muscle relaxers, but just interesting that no one suggested this.
Lot of side effects that need to be watched I'm told. Never knew it could make you feel like Superman.

I'm starting to take supplements like magnesium, other things I can eat that say they are good for bone and nerve health.
Lot of snake oil out on the market...
Used to take chondroitin, the shark stuff, but that seemed to fade out of prominence. Anyone an expert on arthritis and bone disease?...
I think a lot of us have arthritis someplace, I kind of get the booby prize on it, but it's pretty common.
Most of us are workers, we have worked our bodies, and later on in life our bodies are having a chat with us about those fun times in the past.

Wife and I are up most of the night, my middle little girl is sick with nausea and a low grade fever. Always seems to happen on weekend with no Dr coverage here in town. I guess I'll have to take her to a clinic in another town.

Need another hour of sleep.

You, your wife, and especially that little girl, certainly have our sympathy and prayers. I know when our little girls were sick, we'd have rather it be us instead of them.

Toppop, mine always says four or five degrees different, colder always..., than the online weather and when the sun hits it, it spikes regardless of the silly little fan in it.

Mine sits near my propane tank, having that one switched out this summer to a 1000 gallon tank, and will put a fence around the new bigger tank.
And on that fence I want a weather station that will work reasonably accurately and not cost 300 bucks.
My home is protected on all four sides by trees, property was hollowed out of solid woods, so I'm shielded thankfully from quite a bit of wind. I can tell just how much
shielding I have, in boating terms in the lee of the woods, by comparing the online speed to my recorded speed.
I just don't think the Accurite is accurate at all. Screen looks nice...
yeah, one or two degrees, fine. 5 degrees off? not so hot...

Or really hot, depending on which way it’s off!
My point was yours, I ain’t paying several hundred dollars for a weather station that’s more a hobby than a necessity.
Gabapentin just makes me sleepy, no nerve pain relief at all.

16going to 35.

I think I must have "hay fever"; winter allergy to cedar, maybe. The last couple of days, I can't quit sneezing and blowing my nose; no fever, no infection, not sick, don't feel bad, but a runny nose makes me the best customer Puffs facial tissue has. I woke up sneezing about midnight sneezing so bad I had to get up. Finally went back to bed, but less than an hour later, another sneezing attack got me up to stay up.

And while some of you are getting some rain, we aren't! Our last rain was .15" on Jan. 7 and that was all for the month of January. We did get about 3.95" in December with the last being 1.15" on the 22nd. Sure is dry around here; burn ban in effect, etc.

With the above from The Weather Company I would take a wait and see attitude and if I were a betting man think cold for next two to three weeks even in Ga and SC. Every three or four days low pressure from Canada zipping south to combine with lows coming up the coast of the east multile events culminating in something big at the end of the period. Similar to what he said but I do not see the warmth in March. Still on the cool side and somewhat drier than normal. April may give us some nice rain.

The MJO is one of several scientific tools used to forecast the weather. The NAO and AO have not been supportive of large snow storms for the midAtlantic except along the coast, hence the reason a lot of us are in a drought. In short one predictor cannot be used without considering the others.
