Another night without cloud cover has nicely sucked the heat out of the ground and turned it solid, so a good time to replenish the rapidly diminishing wood pile without sinking into mud. 
Wng, Ron, thanks for the trail history info. It is strange seeing place names on that map that look so familiar to me, such as Middlesboro, Speedwell & Harrogate . I guess that's another area where the intrepid pioneers didn't care to use their imagination when it came to naming new settlements. 
LFN, your SIL may know of the caves no far from Sheffield known as  "Speedwell cavern". There are quite a few other places to see stalactites and stalagmites, however this one is memorable in that to get to them, you have to go deep underground and then travel through the old flooded lead workings in a small boat. As an added attraction for curious children, it also has a
