Good morning!!!!

I had taken my wife to the doctor for a minor problem. He was in the Medical Arts Building in Corsicana, TX, and I was waiting in the car with the radio on when they broke into the music with news of the plane flying into one of the World Trade Center towers.

And I suppose most of us, who are old enough, also remember what we were doing when President Kennedy was shot. In my case, I was working an evening shift in the old Terminal Annex of the Dallas Post Office, and I had thought about going in early to watch the parade, in which case I would have been standing right where he got shot. However, I decided that, since I was not a Kennedy fan, I didn't care to watch the parade, so I was still in my apartment that afternoon, when I heard a young female tenant screaming and crying. I went to my door just in time to see her come running out of her apartment screaming and crying. I ran out to ask what was wrong, and she said, "President Kennedy has just been shot." I knew she was a Catholic, so I guess that explained it. Anyway, I went back in and turned on the TV to watch the news.

53 this morning and 76 for the high. 69 currently as what's left of Irma makes its way in. Rains about Nashville and will get in here overnight. Windy tomorrow. Should be fun as all four loads of new rice hulls should be here about 8am tomorrow. Will have to get it inside before it gets too wet. Preparing equipment tonight.

Buckeye at least your home. Too bad they didn't fix you. Have a buddy that claims beer desolves kidney stones. Said most take a 6 pack. He's not a big drinker either. But will have a couple of round a year of stones.

I was sitting in the back classroom in the ag department of our high school. My senior year. Teacher gets a cell phone call and turned on the tv just as the second plane hit. Knew then it wasn't an accident and this country was under attack. Watched it all day in every classroom. What happened to the pentagon and both towers fall. Weirdest thing was going outside that afternoon and subsequent days and looking up to see blue skies with no jet trails.

The day started normal it was a training day for SWAT. As a paramedic I was the SWAT medic started the morning gathering medical information to update the members cards then off to do the annual run and physical agility. Completing the agility as we were heading for coffee then to the range the news broke on the radio. We all returned to the PD standing in agony and frustration watching what unfolded. I have always regretted that being only 4 months back to full duty after a heart attack my Dr would not sign off for me to head to NY to help those brave responders, Police, Fire, EMS and civilian.

Walked into the PO and asked why the flag was at half mast, Walked back to the truck and wife looked at me and asked if someone had gone postal. I said you could say that and got n the truck. Told my family what had happened and went home and looked at tv more than we had for years. Never forget the feeling inside for weeks after that. Ed

My back pain comes from having to lean forward or lean over just a bit. Like bathing a dog or some other bend over task.

Hope your pain Buckeye is just muscle related and can heal.

I remember feeling like I had been sucker punched in the gut.

The lovebugs are getting a second wind down here after all the rain. I sure wish there were birds that were able to eat them back down to normal.

Don, nice tractors. How long ago did your dad use that Deere "B"?

Drew, nice of you to disk your neighbors place. Hope it looks better. Now to keep the weeds from taking over.

More prayers for Buckeye.

Sep 11, 2001. My wife and I had just married 17 days earlier. She told me she had to just turn off the TV. The grief was overwhelming her. Me too. Somewhere, I have a vcr tape that I just put in and hit record. I still have not watched it.

September 11, 2001 I was in the middle of investigating 2 deaths when a witness said a plane just hit a building in New York. It was a long day . . . .

Good evening all. 61F this morning, partly cloudy, calm wind. Sky slowly cleared, high temp was 84F (DP 57F), wind was light. Choir practices restarted this morning so back on fall schedule. Mowed most of the lawn today. Have small section left inside back fence, not done due to wife going down for nap. Postponed today's ride till tomorrow.

9/11 was home on day off, wife and I were going to watch practice rounds for US Open golf tournament held in STL that year. Could not figure how a pilot could hit a building like that when he shouldn't be that low! :confused2:  . Then when second plane hit the other tower , I worked out it was deliberate.

Don, as already said. Voltage is not the only thing that makes a battery do it's job. But from you post. It sounds like the starter is not engaging. Should be fairly easy to bypass the switches that allow tractor to start when in proper position. Do make sure transmission is in neutral when bypassing switches. Is your dad a service manual person. I have manuals for everything I own. Just have to remember to read them.
Good Morning All.

Yes, he has the service manuals. The loader arms are right in front of the starter making it very hard to check.

Had some sort of appointment later that morning so I was on the treadmill doing my morning run with Fox News on. Couldn't believe it as they replayed the tape of the first hit, then watched the second hit. As I remember the meeting ended up more a discussion of what was unfolding. Such acts of unmitigated cowardice on people whose only crime was waking up that day. To my thinking one of the most if not the most despicable acts in history and should never be recalled with slightly hint of dignity. Sadly, our response continues to fall way short only encouraging the next act of cowardice.
