Your friend may be on to something. As stated I had a kidney stone back when I was 20/21. The urologist informed me that I would have others likely in 20 years or so. Not many months after I found myself in a hospital in Japan, dirty surgery ward, but that's another story. But down the hall was another soldier, he being treated for kidney stones. His treatment - beer. He hated beer but could have all he wanted. Good guy to visit as he was hospitable
sharing his medicine. A side note- the night nurses always gave us a beer and seconal at bedtime, slept well.
Sooo, lesson learned, I figured if this guy was getting beer treatment for a problem I was told I was going to have, perhaps there was a preventable approach. I'll be 71 next birthday and pleased to say I've never had another kidney stone. I don't drink anywhere near as much milk as in those days, but I am a fairly faithful beer drinker.
