Your friend may be on to something. As stated I had a kidney stone back when I was 20/21. The urologist informed me that I would have others likely in 20 years or so. Not many months after I found myself in a hospital in Japan, dirty surgery ward, but that's another story. But down the hall was another soldier, he being treated for kidney stones. His treatment - beer. He hated beer but could have all he wanted. Good guy to visit as he was hospitable sharing his medicine. A side note- the night nurses always gave us a beer and seconal at bedtime, slept well.
Sooo, lesson learned, I figured if this guy was getting beer treatment for a problem I was told I was going to have, perhaps there was a preventable approach. I'll be 71 next birthday and pleased to say I've never had another kidney stone. I don't drink anywhere near as much milk as in those days, but I am a fairly faithful beer drinker.

Thank you for your service. And the great advice. I'm commencing my "Kidney Stone Prevention Plan" as we speak.

Good morning all, 55 going to 69 and 60% chance of rain. All of the rain has stayed just south of me so far. Supposed to jump up to around 80 Friday and be there for a while. Going to the eye doc today and get checked for new glasses, other than that???????

Don wish you were next door, that would be fun.

59 and sunshine between the many types of clouds streaming in from Irma...but no rain likely until tonight. Should see 76.

Cut some firewood yesterday morning...mostly 6 to 8 inch diameter sized stuff...cut into 8 foot lengths because I had to carry them about a hundred yards to where I could get my tractor in...kinda crazy, but hate to see good hardwoods go to waste. Plus, substituted this for my workout rather than going to the gym. May do some more this morning, since not sore (yet).

Took my loving wife to her allergy shots yesterday, then to a late lunch and Costco while over in the west end. Then crashed in the lazy-boy watching the Orioles lose another.

Late to the party again, happy anniversary Bakerg! Cloudy and mild today, getting the cloud shield from Irma, no rain forecast though. I need to w grass, boy it's really slowed down growth in the last 10 days or so. Going to the allergy doc for testing session to see what foods or meds I'm allergic to, we suspect shellfish, at least shrimp but not sure if it's all shrimp or just farm raised.

59 this morning and headed to 71 today. Irma's rain has arrived off and on right now. Will get windy today 25-35 gust. Center should be about LBL (Land Between the Lakes) in 24 hours.

Florida and Texas stay safe. Florida has a lot of cleanup to do but it wasn't as bad as forecast, so that's definitely good.

The cone on Jose is pointing right at the Carolinas.

Think litter just rolled in. So got to go play in rice hulls today.

Good morning! Clear skies 60˚ heading to 88˚. All of the "Harvey growth hay has been cut in the surrounding fields. There might just be enough warmth and moister for a 4th cut this year. I have no hay fields on my place just native grasses and rotation grazing. In the winter the cows have mineral supplement and browse on youpon, cedar and winter grasses.

Made my required yearly trip to Houston in the Century Heart study. I'm now starting my final 5th year in the study and next year I will get the final results.
Houston still has many mounds of flood trash on the curbs.








This particular house had been raised 4' years ago but was next to the bayou. I remember the slab being raised so I had to check it out yesterday. It looks like it had had only wooden floor damage and no sheetrock damage. I bet they are wishing they would have gone up another foot.

59° and cloudy this morning, going up to 77° today with some rain possible later. Looks like clouds from the remains of hurricane Irma arrived here yesterday evening.

Eric, over the weekend I noticed one small maple tree along our south fence line had leaves that were well into the color change already, brought on no doubt by some of the very cool nights we've had here lately. Everything else is still pretty green.

55 degrees this morning, going for a high of 85. And I just finished my 30th and final Physical Torture (uuhhh, Therapy) session this morning.

The low this morning was 44*, yesterday high was 81*. Today Is going to be about the same, with some wind. Later in the week it says the lows will be In the mid 30's with a good chance of rain.

Farmer was just being our early warning system. Good thing. Wunderground has been hard to access, no surprise, this last day,
but just now got peppy again.

Priority this AM is to watch the Apple event.

Put new belts on the flail yesterday. Discovered that my albizia stump work had bent the mud bar. Rear roller also has a bearing that needs replacing. Guess I was more aggressive than I thought. Bearing on order and I think I can straighten the mud bar.
