72 headed only to 76, tropical storm warnings up, anywhere from two to five inches predicted, as system goes up coast slowly.
going to get a haircut this morning, probably joining some rained out farmers.

where did the summer go?...kids are back in school here already, need to remember to slow down in the school zones again. No blinking lights here.

Good morning. We have rain. Not Harvey levels, only normal rain that started as the fine stuff that wants to hang in the air, then gradually increasing to come down hard enough to make anyone as chicken as me to think twice before cutting down steep slopes. Never mind, I got the thistle I could see breaking into flower yesterday, those still forming buds will have to wait a few more days.

The oaks looked to have a lot of acorns forming earlier in the year, now their branches look as though they are almost ready to droop with all the weight. The squirrels will soon be going nuts trying to stash them all away.

The wind damage in central Texas was minimal. View attachment 520154
After the great flood... Rick captures a lovely almost forgotten sun, while Don decides not to point his camera at the flocks of Dove's returning with groves of olive branches, preferring instead to take a more contemporary picture of what now brings most relief to man.

61 and rain going to 64. Rain from Drew's storm will be here all day.

Don and Rick, glad weather is getting better in your part of the state.

Got some plots planted yesterday and mowed the fastest growing section of the yard to give it some "growing room" from the coming rain. Ran the trimmer until the battery ran out. Chain sawed a couple of big branches into firewood - these were brought down by last Monday's eclipse storm. Then dug a couple of FEL buckets of sand from the dry section of the creek bed to use on my path.

45F now low 70's for high w/clouds here and there.

Did just enough puttering last evening to earn my supper. ;)

Soon heading down to the valley for another day of adventure...work.

Pulling hard for the folks in Texas...be safe.

Enjoy the day all.

8.56 inches so far this August including an inch today so far. Lawn won't stop growing. Funny how going not much further inland can totally change the weather pattern.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 62° with fog this morning. Heading to 74° with some rain and thunderstorms late afternoon. .3" of rain yesterday. Got the yard light up yesterday. Need to wire it today. Not sure what else will get done today.
Don and Rick, glad weather is improving. Still a lot of rain in a few days.
Best wishes for those in path of severe weather. Stay safe and dry.
Good Morning All.

Glad to see that Texas sense of humor survived!
We are expecting around 3" of rain with sustained winds of 30 gusting to 50 even though the storm is passing well south of us. Our son and his family are directly in the path in the Outer Banks. It looks like more of a nuisance than a real problem though. Glad I mowed on Sunday.

Good morning all. First cup also here in SE Oklahoma.
Been a hectic month with digging the yard up and running 120 ft of conduit for water and electricity out to where wife wants a guest cabin built.
Did squeeze some time aside for making a ballast weight. Simple and sweet. At 62 lbs each plus drawbar and hardware its close to 625 lbs now. I think I can get some more of the plates from the scrapyard so I'll leave the all thread long for now to add on if I do. IMG_1980.JPG
Went down and looked a B26 TLB but couldn't justify the difference. I'll keep my 3301. I just rented a backhoe for a week and got after most of those chores at once. I hate to rent but this time really worked out well.
Think I'll try to get some of the holes in the yard refilled with dirt where I had stumps ground out 5 years ago. It seems everyone of them rotted away and left indentations in the yard.
Hope all are well.

Good morning all. 57 this morning going to 66 :) wit a 90% chance of rain today. Already had .44 in over night. I got some leather a while back and worked on making myself a good belt yesterday, hope to finish it today. Might start on a pouch for my I phone. I should have mowed the grass before the rain came in but it will still be here when it dries off again.

Don, Might seem like minimal damage to you but it was not you in the out house. :D

All you Texas guys. Still praying. Glad you are ok.

Have a great day. Ed

You have to be able to recognize the signs of proclamation, whatever they might be.:D

Good morning 70˚ cloudy but at least I can bits of blue in-between the clouds and no rain.

59°F and foggy this morning, going up to 82° today. As long as Harvey's wet ways stay away, this is looking like the forecast here for about the next week.

Oldest stepson got the Texas National Guard activation notice yesterday, putting a hold on his police academy progress. He's not happy about that part, but knows that it is what it is. It's what he does.

Wife decided to remove all of the lava rock from around the house, and got about half of it done yesterday. I'm not going to miss that stuff.

Good morning guys. I've been pretty busy, and a little lax on my social media stuff. I hope everybody is ok, and hope those folks in Texas and Louisiana get thru the Harvey thing.

Have a good one!

renewal auto insurance policy jumped in price, complained to agent, told him I was going to get a quote from Geico,
and you bet, they are cheaper. 3 grand down to 2 grand. One car free...and wonders of wonders, now a new company quoted by agent for 2300.
Whole process has saved me about 700 a year.

Rain and storm pretty much has stayed offshore, clearing up, looking forward to doing some welding in barn.
