Emptied rain gauges at 8 am this morning and our total is now 26 3/4".

A good one is still not cheap, but a good independent should still be able to read the codes. VAG-COM is available from Ross Tech for $199.

Downside is that it is Windows only.

I used one a while back on the BMW car. It would give me the codes, but darned if I could figure out what to do with them. Today's vehicles rely on so many sensors and actuators, all of them interacting, that you really have to understand the relationship between them all to make any use of the codes. That's where a good independent mechanic comes in. They have the experience gained from working on many cars, hopefully similar or the same as yours, and know how to troubleshoot first, then fix, the problem.

Screw all that. Give me a simple carb, Hall effect ignition trigger, coil, and sparkplugs and forget about that modern junk.:laughing:

Mowed yard tonight, calling for rain tomorrow. Took till dark, and didn't do around the field. Wife picked more green beans. Need to dig potatoes when it gets dry enough.

Good evening all. 70F this morning and overcast, calm wind. Moderate wind today, high temp was 86F and cleared off mid afternoon, and started clouding up late afternoon. This morning took the 10-speed for the bike ride, new freewheel cured chain jump, so got a good time to complete the ride. Cleaned stepdaughter's front gutters, then took wife to Dr appt. then ran errands in town. Watching Harvey, his antics may affect next weekend's plans.

We just had a few sprinkles today. Looks like we are going to top out at 14.9" Drove around and got a pic of a truck going through a closed road. (Next post I'll have to post it from my phone.)
Found the water leak At parent's house - by the chimney - and orderd $200 worth of 4 different types of sealers for the brick, mortar, crown and flashing. Its been leaking for years this time it gets fixed right by me instead of my brother.
We had sun this evening. Gave me enough time to fix the gate opener. The exit wand had stopped working. Found a loose wire in only 10 minutes.
