Yep, only it seems to happen a lot more to me the older I get.
Thomas, maybe it's time you started a check list for your next fishing trip. In your case, top of your list has to be - WIFE :)
...............................................
I hear you on the getting older part my friend.
Wife is at the top of the list, for she mention about wanting to going fishing that can't forget her.

Over the next few days, Tropical Storm Harvey is forecast to head back into the Gulf of Mexico,
where it will pick up moisture before moving back over Galveston and into Houston again,
CNN meteorologist Karen Maginnis says, meaning at least four more days of rain.

this is not good at all...extra prayers sent to these folks

Good morning all. 57 going to 70 and sunny but a 60% chance of rain tonight. Going to the grocery store this am and then a meeting here after lunch. Won't get much done.

Thomas, A family friend was going somewhere and his wife was in the back seat sleeping. He stopped for gas and she went to the bathroom. He got in and drove another hour before he realized she was missing. Lucky she thought it was funny.

Texas, still praying.

Have a great day. Ed

Colorado river at Lagrange now up to 114,705 cfs. river stage at 51.8 ft. (25.8 feet ABOVE FLOOD STAGE).

Here in Giddings, it has been raining for days. The land we live on is in the Colorado's watershed. All night, rain, wind and more rain.

There is epic flooding occurring. Fortunately, we live on fairly high ground. Our internet came back on yesterday evening.

Victoria is still without power. Many of the poles are leaning over. It will take a lot of time to get the lines repaired. Their water has been spotty as far as being turned on. Boil notice is in place.

The roads are a mess with traffic and high water closures.

Lovely afternoon cutting wood and splitting it, about half of it was red oak and my did it smell nice.
This is my backup woodpile, the one by the house is full. This is the wood I'm having a hard time giving away...

If you are concerned about giving away firewood you may need a small sawmill like the Saw Mill with 310cc Gas Engine.

In Mississippi I've a lot of small (<20" DBH) trees to cut down while making trails and it seemed such a waste to leave them in the woods while I needed lumber for small projects such as shelving. I've go the Jinma chipper for the sub 6" stuff but I don't know anybody who burns wood. So I bought a Woodmizer LT10.

A side benefit I had not envisioned is the sawdust. When changing oil etc. on vehicles I'm always dripping some oil on my concrete floors. A handful of sawdust really helps cleanup.

Good morning! Woke up to a pack of coyotes having a party by the pool and thought Grey two was the cause. Whipper was barking at the opposite end of the yard? I guess they were doing their diversion tactic. When I went back back inside Grey was by the door wanting in really bad. A pack of coyotes all yelping really sounds hideous.

69˚ IN AUGUST!!!!! Light rain on an off all night and lots of dark clouds in the sky. The "rain event" is not over yet but it seems to be winding down here. We are now at 14.86". I might try venture out to see Dad today if the rains stay light and the flooded creeks have not closed all my access roads. I only heard one or two thunders during this entire event so the lack of lightning help keep my internet up. We never lost any utilities. Anyone heard the number of homes flooded in Houston? I bet it's in the hundreds of thousands range.

Looks like Rick is getting hit again by another band of rain.

64°F and spotty light rain showers this morning, going up to 82° today.

Took Friday off work, as we get an additional PTO day we have to use within two weeks plus-or-minus our birthday. Wifey worked me "like a Hebrew slave" all weekend, cleaning up and weeding around the lake and the barn. Bypass loppers and line trimmer were the weapons of choice, and she followed me with sprayers. Definitely a little sore today. Weather here was wonderful all weekend, sunny and low-to-mid-80s.

Speaking of which, sorry to see and read all the weather goings on in Texas. Terrible situation there. However, glad to read that our regulars here seem to be riding the storm out as well as possible. Stay safe, fellas.

No word yet this morning here at work on our Houston facility.

Happy (belated) Anniversaries to Eric and Kyle (and the women who put up with them :D). Ours is later this week.

Don, stay safe! I don't have much use coyotes and shoot them when I can. We don't have as many in this part of the county as they do just a few miles in either direction, no idea why.
Another pretty day, cool northeast breeze, upper 50's early, felt like fall, 70's again today, rain moving in tomorrow. After the 12" we had three weeks ago the 2" predicted tomorrow doesn't seem so bad, especially after seeing Harvey in a Texas.

The low was 44* this morning, yesterday's high was 91*. Today is going to be clear and sunny with the high near 90*

Hope everyone in Texas stays safe.

Helped the neighbor cut a load of wood. He got a 18 inch log stuck in his processor, it was about 10 feet long, ended up pulling it out with his skid steer. Didn't do much for the rest of the day.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
