Good morning!!!!

72 (which is nice) but going for 97 (which ain't very nice) today with a 20% chance of showers. I had something new happen yesterday. I drove the old 2012 Ford Escape to the store and discovered my key fob would not lock or unlock the doors. I figured it was either defective or had a dead battery, so I stopped by my Ford dealer and the assistant service manager just very quickly "reprogrammed?" it. He said, no one really knows for sure what sometimes causes one to lose its contact with the car; some electrical or atmospheric anomaly maybe. Then of course he told me that now my wife's key fob wouldn't work since they have to be programmed together, but that he'd do it if I just stopped by with both keys. So I came home and got my wife's key and figured I could do it myself with the instructions in the owner's manual. But fortunately, I gave it a try first and found that both keys worked just fine.

As I mentioned yesterday, besides the 4.05" of rain, we had lots of thunder and lightning and the lights in the house flickered once. I'm only guessing that was what caused the little problem.

Have had to keep looking at the sky before doing things outside today as one minute the sun is enticing me to come outside and the next we get a downpour. I think the weather wants to keep playing this game but I've had enough and thought I would come inside to say Good morning .

... Seems like a good day to "lay low and watch from behind a stump". Don't know about the stump but I plan to law low.

Ed, I've been keeping my eye on this stump for a while, ever since I first saw what looked like a pressure creosoted electric pole burst into leaf

The pole was cut down 11 years ago and must be over 100 yards from the nearest trees, so I guess a bird must have helped that seedling find a place where it could start life without being chomped by rabbits.

Interesting day.

Got the shelves mounted, pretty much as expected. Wife couldn't tell which one was my problem child. Barely got started on my Ohia trim when sears finally showed up.
Culprit seems to be water in the gas. Bet there was at least half a cup in what we drained off. Got it running, but rough. Tech wants to replace the carb so will return in a couple of weeks.
My Blitz gas containers are getting old. Already took 2 out of service as they started leaking last refills. Now I wonder if they are allowing water to get in as well? Any suggestions as to replacements? Believe Blitz went bankrupt a few years ago due to idiots pouring gas on fires and blaming the container company. Not a fare of the newer, hard to use spouts.

After Sears left, I mowed about an hour around the banana trees. I know, not really trees, but I still call them trees. :)

Are you forced to use ethanol contaminated gasoline in HI? If so, you might try treating with Stabil Marine 360. I add to gas cans before going to fill them. It's eliminated all my gasoline problems.

68°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 93° today.

Sounds like our "eclipse forecast" for Monday is calling for cloudy skies. Potential bummer for all those people making a trek to see it around here.

Have a safe weekend, fellas.

The low this morning was 43*, yesterday high was 85* with a 15 mph breeze. Today will be back to the 80's, it doesn't show any rain for the next few days.

The plans for today are helping the neighbor move his processor to a new spot. And do some fishing some time today. We made it to the the charcoal kilns yesterday. I think the grandkids had a good time. They had quite a few questions about the town.

Hope everyone has a nice day.

Been a tough year for ticks here, too. I've found a lot of them, but fortunately all before they got their little heads buried in me.

Farmer that rents our few acres started wheat harvest last night.. we'll be glad when that is done.

Mowed lawn last night... new blades sure cut nice... snagged a clothes line wire with ROPs bolt, pulled the pole over without even noticing until I turned. Unhooked wire from ROPs, pushed pole back up, removed the rest of the now down wires, took a break and had some dinner and went back out after dinner and finished mowing.
