A little more humid today, rain tomorrow. Got my grass mowed yesterday, man I love that Kubota! Still trying to get straight from the fire, my nerves are shot, can't seem to move ahead.
Hope you all have a great day!

Got soil screen frame moved out of the shop and shop cleaned up enough to work on the 'bota.

Reviewed the maintenance schedule and it looks like I only need to change the oil and fuel filters, along with some other minor stuff ... like the valves ...

Still another 100 hours until the hydraulics/HST.

Had the filters for the HST and the fuel filter. Will run by NAPA and pick up oil filters for the B2910 and the Simplicity ... then onto Wally World to pick up some Mobil 1 0w40.

Also moved the stump bucket up to the shop and stood it on end before I removed the FEL. Will use it as the welding template for the SSQA repair.

Tractor now sitting out back cooling off so I can wash the engine off before I stick it in the shop for the night so it will be cold in the morning to do the valves.

Talked to the service guy @ the dealer about adjusting the valves (was due at 800 hours) and having the injectors pressure checked (was due at 1500 hours) He felt that 2000 hours on the engine without having the valves checked is probably no biggie, as they tend to stay in spec ... which jives with what I've read. Also recommended not having the injectors pressure checked, due to possible unforeseen complications ... like busting an otherwise good injector trying to get it out.

Tractor basically runs good so I'll leave that be.

Just heard a bit of light rain start ... but it has now stopped. Might be my cue to get out there and get the mowing done down here around the house.

was having a fine morning sharpening blades and puttering in the barn. Then the 1.46 inches of rain stopped, and I thought I could get a little brush clearing in a common treeline between myself and my next door neighbor. His side is all nicely cleaned out. Mine, not yet...getting there. Helpers got stung by bees there last time. Ground bees.. We sprayed and I thought I got rid of them.

So..........happily cutting briars with lopper until sting on the right arm, ouch, beat that off, decided to head into house to wash the area and put on some 1 percent cortisone cream. I got to the top of the stairs coming in and serious ouch on my left ankle, another bee had flown/crawled up my pant leg and stung me about five minutes later. That one got me good. Ankle pretty swollen up, itches like mad. I have the pills and Epi pen, just watching it. I dumped about half a can of spray wasp killer on that mound. Worst part is I was trying out a new lopper and I had to drop it, turns out right next to the hole in the ground, so no way of putting it away.

These looked a little smaller than yellowjackets up North but clearly very aggressive.

I think I will stay out of harms way for awhile.

Don, was the watermelon fully ripe?

Yes it was. We rated it a 9 out of 10. If it would not have rained it would have been sweeter, but it was still very good and very cold. It hit the spot after finishing my parent's yard at 2PM.

Once the novelty of seeing wakes from my lawnmower wore off, and the skeeters kicked my Deet bottle out of reach, and the deer flies casually buzzed over to take a swig out of said bottle, I realized that I was playing Farmville and they were going for blood. From then on it was a battle for survival, I aimed to destroy their breeding ground and they were out to suck me dry of blood so they have the energy to breed. #MowingInDaSwamp

I didn't want to mow a very wet lawn but the skeeters were fierce. I've gotta cut so they don't have a place to hide.
