I'm looking for a (non-motorized) wheelchair for Mom. Any advise or recommendations welcomed. New territory for me.

Canadian Tire up here sell them.

A bit of a late good morning from me. I got up fine, it's just the internet here that is struggling to get going.


Don, you are truly blessed if whipper keeps rabbits out of your garden.
I have rabbit proofed our garden fence and gate on the field side, however the rabbits are so keen on sampling my wife's plantings, they now travel over the gravel at the front and then crosss the concrete yard to get in. Of course this is all my fault :confused3:

45°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 63° today. The boomy storms are supposed to arrive this afternoon and potentially last through the night.

The wheel chairs sold at places like Walgreen's can get rather expensive, Don. My Wife found one on Amazon about two years ago for her Grandmother. I don't recall it being terribly expensive, but it got lots of rave reviews. I sat in it - at 220 lbs - and thought it was fine. Her G'ma resisted the idea at first, but also found it quite comfortable. Shop around a bit, and read lots of reviews.

Well the fun never ends. We has some pretty gusty winds yesterday, and when the mechanic's partner rolled my van out of the garage so he could move one of his, the fiberglass cargo bay that had been rested, not attached, to the roof blew off. Big cracks all the way through in one corner, repairable, but time consuming. My mechanic wasn't there to prevent the move, or at least caution them to take the cargo bay off first, one of the many disadvantages to not arriving at work until noon every day. It'll be made right, I have no doubt of that, and after all what's one more delay among many?:confused2:

Managed to run heavier gauge wire for the headlights and driving lights, and attach connectors for all, yesterday. Also added two more relays and installed the reworked resistor holder, and found a good spot for the switch bank that'll run all the lights. While looking for a good way to route leads under the van for rear work lights, the mechanic and I noticed that the hose clamps on the radiator water lines hadn't been tightened and four were missing altogether. Probably would have held long enough for the water to get hot and then... :shocked: You know what they say about good help being hard to find!

I'll be back there today to supervise the fiberglass repair, do a little more wiring, and hopefully get the window regulator hardware installed in the side doors.

I found a near new wheelchair on craigslist when my wife broke her ankle.. it was about half price. got a walker and toilet seat in the deal also.

My mom got a transport type wheel chair first. Expensive but portable. When she went to the Nursing home they kept her in a wheelchair all the time. Within weeks she never complained about a sore back again. She probably should been in the chair for years.

There are always things todo. But I like to spend time relaxing. While doing that it will not be long before someone stops by with something todo.

Ha! I'm not getting on the **** thing! I know who built it.
Dear wife took it for a a coupla rides though this evening and pronounced it safe.
Gotta go get the rubberized mulch stuff to finish filling it now. Man! That stuff is expensive! Going with 6" depth on top of good ol Oklahoma red dirt top soil.
Ordered a swing last night to mount next to it but looks like it'll be a couple of days late so she can help me install it.
First load of dirt I used the FEL but that was a screwup with half dumping in and half dumping out. I had to touch a shovel to rectify that. Next load I used the ol 3 pt scoop. Good nuff.
Dear wife said I thought you were told not to spoil her. But I don't really remember that. You all know how our memory gets.
