35 degrees going to 60 today in bright sunshine. A fine day to plant trees; today I plant the second half of my fifty tree hybrid willow sight barrier. First a run downtown to the bank, let the day warm up, then time to put knees in the dirt.

Buppies, ask for the Vulcan ear extensions while you are there. Really comes in handy at parties...
Hey if they are going to snip something off, at least they can put something fun back on...
May today go easily and very successfully.

I will ask doctor does have a sense of humor. When I had implants in 2002 I asked the eye surgeon if he would make the implants red. At the time he did not think that was funny

Maybe Vulcan ears would make me more logical

Keep the sense of humor!

I know of a guy that had the Marine Corp emblem painted on his eye prostheses.

First cup coffee has been poured. 70° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 94° with sunny skies. One more warm day in the 90's.
Buppies, best wishes for surgery and recovery.
Good Morning All.

Good Morning! 56F @ 5:00AM. Partly cloudy skies this morning will give way to cloudy skies and rain during the afternoon. High near 60F. Winds SSE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90%.

Plutonium, Vulcan ears, red eyes, drones, piles of paperwork; just more signs of the approaching Apocalypse!

Speaking of paperwork, got most of the receipts and such entered into TurboTax yesterday, so just need to chase down a few loose ends and taxes'll be over for another year.

Also got the instrument housing for the van epoxied up, but I'm gonna give the stuff another day to set up before I shape it and drill/thread it.

Will try to get out on the tractor to grade the rain ruts out of the driveway this morning. Apparently we've got a couple inches more rain on the way, and it'll be just the thing to help compact the gravel where it fills in.

Authorities opened the spillway at the dam a few days ago in preparation and lake levels have dropped to some 45' below the emergency spillway level. They still haven't removed all the debris from the plunge pool below the spillway, and it'll be interesting to see if they just leave all that heavy equipment laying around soaking up rent until it stops raining again. Looks like that'll be at least a week. A friend of mine sent me the cartoon above from the San Francisco Chronicle, and it's proving to be true. Just last week the local congress critter held a phone in town hall meeting to solicit damage claims from everyone in the dam drainage. With federal dollars in play, it looks like it'll be FEMA that is in charge of doling out the money, and their track record on fraud and abuse isn't anything to write home about. The cops had their hands full with looters during the evacuation, and the same attitude will no doubt hold among some going after FEMA. More signs of the Apocalypse!

Hope everyone's week gets off to a good start!

RNG, pics of the van please, you are holding us in suspense
I'm not sure the apocalypse hasn't arrived already in Washington but I'm trying to stay positive.
Coming from a family of lawyers I am very pleased to see the rule of law is once again protecting our freedoms.

One solution sadly cuts way down on tractor seat time. Get a big boat and sail to the islands. Lot of folks have
done that over the years. Now if I could get a p/t job driving an old faded blue Ford with a trash rake behind it,
puttering down an Out Island Bahamian beach of white and pink coral, the blue of the water a sparkling aquamarine.
No one around, just me, the tractor chugging slowly along and a nice breeze off the ocean.
Buppies, I hope you can put yourself right there today.

welcome cajunrider.

long but very fun day. the farmer neighbor who wanted to borrow my tractor motivated me to go over there this morning and hook up his ancient disc,
and disc three fields for him. I must have disc'd for five hours. Time for a glass of wine and the hot tub. My oldest brother just emailed me back after
seeing these pictures and said "two glasses!" I am tuckered out for sure. Back and neck highly unenthused.
Smile stuck on my face...haven't pulled a farm disc in 50 years

That field looks good!

Busy weekend. Got my tractor fixed to the point where I can lift the FEL and mowed the yard. Only got half of it done.
My friends and their families came in for a visit. We caught 10 flounders Saturday morning. I stuffed them with crab meat and we had them for lunch. Their hungry boys just inhaled those flounders.
