Works' done for the day...mowed, delimbed and chipped. Getting a little hot (79 per local Weather Underground).
Just had a snort and a beer...stepdaughter is getting ready to grill. I'm going to have another beer and a nap sounds real good

You're just not trying hard enough, Ted. ;) The RedNeck in me wants to suggest tying the trailer tongue to your FEL with the safety chains and lifting it clean off the ground. That way you can make it act like a dump bed and spread it out at the same time.:laughing::laughing::laughing:

I have a hole in one of my pallet forks to mount a trailer ball. I can stand trailer straight up using it. Trailer is single axle.

Careful with low mounted tail lights, license plate.

I just came in and read this thread.... guess what.... that was exactly what I did! Chains (S hooks) slid to one side the first try (because pile of stone in front of one trailer wheel). Cleared that out and on second try, worked like a charm, dumping all the stone exactly where I wanted it, then pulling the trailer out of the way, spread a bit of it out. A little bit of bucket grading, touch up with rake and ... wahlah....done!

Rick, I do not worry too much about the taillights, I crunched them earlier this spring when I was getting mulch! I have them Gorrilla taped on now.... the trailer is 22+ years old... shows the age and abuse from the years. I am about due for a new one.

Wifey already made the comment this morning that I was not going to get a dump trailer. After she was watching my maneuvers out the window, she may have second thoughts.....:D

Parts picked up at Kubota dealer. Was looking like they were going to include a locking pin for a SSQA but I told them it wasn't mine.

Talked to the service writer in their shop about replacing the cylinder seals. He said they would be happy to ... for $200 ... per cylinder ...

Trip to McMaster is cancelled - their will call is closed due to COVID.

Told the guy that took my order that while will call being closed was inconvenient for me, I appreciated them being responsible and acting in the interests of safety for their employees and customers - and doing their part to lessen the chances of spreading The COVID ...

Turns out the cylinders have the smaller pin holes (3/16") ... which saved $10 on the wrench. Will ship today and should be here by Tuesday.

Was waiting to hear back from a neighbor to see if he has the appropriate wrench in his tool box. I'm guessing the likelihood is probably not - most of the stuff he worked on was larger construction equipment ... but ya never know and it doesn't hurt to ask.

Crescent wrench located - but the rain started again and was coming down pretty steady ... still drizzling.

Hopefully it will clear up in time to pull the hoses off and run down to NAPA and get new ones made up.

Another crystal clear morning with 45ºF as the low temperature. It’s been a beautiful day here. I think the temperature maxed out at 76ºF this PM. I discovered this morning that my Mr. Filter® fuel-water separating filter will remove water from old 2 cycle fuel. My string/bushwhacker trimmer started right up for the first time this Season and I ran tankful of cutting around the stonework around here. The garden area is now ready for tilling tomorrow. I usually get a decent rock crop each Spring. It looks like I need a new battery for the rider mower; apparently it did not overwinter well.
:(:embarrassed: I left it outside over the Winter, but disconnected. I think it was 3 or 4 years old.

Ted- I like your redneck method for moving gravel.

Bruce- It’s almost a NWS automatic alert when there is low humidity, warm temperatures, and higher winds predicted post Winter. Most of my wet areas are finally starting to dry out.

RonJH- Thanks for the colt picture. That oversized minnow was taking me wherever it wanted. It was far stronger than my pedal powered catamaran fishing kayak. 100’s of shovelhead sharks were schooling underneath the surface as I was merrily towed along:eek:. Finally it was heading back into the bayou when the tippet snapped. I actually had my filet knife out to cut the line. My only consolation was that I hand tied the fly myself. It was some kind of shrimp lure. I have 3 Hunter ceiling fans. I did not know that they are no longer made :(.

RNG- Good luck with the clay. I may switch to a cloth mask the next time I go to the supermarket/pharmacy. I have the weekend to decide.

Billy- I still have all my fishing and fly tying gear. My sense of balance is pretty poor nowadays, making for challenging wading, and for potential amusement for bystanders. I forget how much a MA fishing costs. I remember that they were expensive even years ago.

I hope that everyone is having a manageable day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers. With some extra +’s for Drew.

They still make Hunter fans. They do not make the cast iron housing ones anymore.

We have 5 of them including two in the family room, the others are off brands that my late wife like the look of. After 8 1/2 years the Hunters are rock solid and whisper quiet, the off brands have varying degrees of wobble and noise.

Poured second of coffee. 56ー with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 66ー with chance of rain. Got some weeding and weed killer spread yesterday. Not much else accomplished. If rain holds off hope to get lawn mowed today. Garden Pond needs some care. Maple Helicopters are filling skimmer.
Lots of little ones showing up in my yard.

Drew, special prayers and best wishes for getting better.

Buppies, wow way to much rain. Hope you can get trees removed and fence repaired.

RS, one of my visits to Txdon had seals go bad on his tractor FEL. Took it to his local dealer. They repaired it while we waited. Don and I did a complete tour of all the tractors and attachments around the place. Somehow we managed to not buy anything other than the repair. :confused3::D

Don, I bet you miss all your Cousins since you moved to Georgetown. ;) I think Harvey got stuck in 2004.

Buckeye, lots of jobs available in Auto Industry for engineers. Hope your friends got good ones. My Dad retired from Chrysler.

Jay, getting towed by fish out away from shore. Would worry me. I always had a boat much bigger than the fish I was fishing for. But they could spools a 400 yard reel pretty fast. We do have fish that can exceed 50 lbs on the great lakes.

Rick, glad you found fan before it fell. What kind of ceiling fan cost $400? Oops, then I thought I would look and see what my 3 classic Hunter fans would cost today. They do not make them any more. :( I have 6 ceiling fans. All Hunter. Lots of good quiet fans cost over $400.

Randy, send some of that fuel up here. It's been stuck at $2.40 since April.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

Mother giving you thanks Ron by showing her young to you...priceless!!!

I would agree with that. Next time maybe a tarp under the load first? Either strong enough to pull off or just to help the tipping slide. I have one of those crank loaders in mine, but needs a new fabric.

As many times as I’ve tried I can never conclude my spending $10k for a dump trailer is justified, but I keep watching CL and hoping....

The shakedown cruise with the truck went good. Only one problem, the AC didn't work, blew 101°F. Barked about it to the shop and they recharged it. Now it blows 34-40°F. Much better. We will see how long it holds. Right now I am on my boat. I took today off and am off on Monday as well. The way I figure it, I will be running my tail off all summer long, so every day I can get off between now and the northwest work is a bonus. The company is squalling about fuel consumption and yet they won't spend 5 grand to repair the APU on my truck that they damaged a year ago. Guess what? I will be running the truck ALL summer long whether they like it or not. I can save them 3/4 of a US gallon of fuel/hour with the APU.

Next load of gravel, don't make it look so easy Ted. Take an hour to do a 10 minute job. You'll get your dump trailer.

Good evening all. 70F for the start, partly sunny sunrise, light breeze. Clouded up quickly but line of storms fell apart when they got here, then sky cleared off. Wind was all over the place, outflow was north after line broke down wind shifted south and moderate, high temp was 87F. Bike ride early, then trip to town to return boat top and shopping, redid boat registration, got all vehicles done for this year. Snuck a nap in and spent time with wife.
Covid update, Cooke unchanged, Montague unchanged, Grayson 275 confirmed, 88 recovered
Eric that is the norm, North Texas is a bit on the wet side this year.
Buppies, I don't get that much rain in 1 summer :confused2:
Randy hope you get some back yard project done, not hearing from Drew is not good.
early start in morning so ...
prayers for all especially Drew.
Stay safe and healthy.
