Well, I missed my goal of avoiding a generator run. Not that it has run yet, but I suspect within the next hour or so. My 3 hour shopping trip to Hilo might have been a factor, but even if I could have avoided it, I doubt if I would have gotten enough panels turned on early enough to be a factor. Still a good day in that my combiner boxes are cleaned up, rebuilt, and ready to be mounted in the morning. Rerouting the wires from on the roof to thru the roof will be interesting.
On a different level, I learned today that my new battery manufacturer, Aquion, filed for bankruptcy today. As much as I researched, the one tidbit I never read was this company was another of the chosen Obama energy stars (solyndra etc). I believe they have mostly all gone under. Technology wasn't the issue here, likely poor management. The fact the lead guy, Whitacre sought refuge back at Carnegie Mellon a week before the announcement just reinforces my suspicion. Oh well, I'm still expecting they will perform well.

Seems maintenance items are all coming along..

Toilets either won't fill or won't shutoff, cleaned the main bath valve internals, works like a champ now. Cleaned master bath valve internals, worked great for a hour or two, then would run very slow (not shutting off). Cleaned again, seemed to fix it again, few hours later, running again. Replaced valve internals, worked fine and now running again. There must be an obstruction at the inlet to the toilet that is restricting flow. I don't like taking the whole thing out, makes a mess and is a pain getting in there..

Propane stove gave a few issues with thermostat a month ago, spent time cleaning connections, etc on stove and all worked great until this morning. It is not coming on, have not looked at it to see what is going on..

Hot water heater is making hotter water, usually points to element going out or thermostat issue...

Metal roof on shop has a leak, will need some help getting up there and checking screws and trying to find leak..

Tractor front tire went flat parked in shop. First tractor tire to loose air..

Zero turn mower has a tire losing air (slow leak)

Snow is mostly gone, temps are warming up.

Working on the toilet tonight, seems to be a bunch of sediment. Hopefully caused by main toilet running extra for a few weeks causing pump to cycle. Main toilet is fine, master is getting better after pulling off pipe to bottom of toilet and flushing out. I cleaned the internals again and its working for now.

Hot water issue is likely sediment in the faucets causing the balance to stay on hot when the lever was turned. I worked it some tonight and it is working better..

Didn't make it out to the shop tonight, had to work late. I was not able to login this morning, had to have IT reset my account. I had limited access all day until near end of day when my account was locked again. This time L1 can't fix it and have escalated it to next level as my computer was somehow removed from the domain.

I misread a 2004 sales agreement and almost sent a inaccurate letter to an attorney (never a good thing). Praise God I saw the error and made the corrections needed.

Lots of folks needing healing and such, hoping you all have someone close that cares and looks in on you from time to time. I think about Jim (Crash325) in near Tucson almost everyday.

14 right now...heading to the mid-20's for the high today. Obviously, the big news is the Nor'easter coming through today and tonight. I'll be heading in this morning (work is 50 miles south) with the expectation of leaving about noon.
Tractor is fueled and the shovels are ready...


Update at 0401:
I decided to work from home today...
Got my work laptop and everything I'll need...as long as we don't lose power (a distinct possibility), I should have a fairly productive day.

Quite a heavy dew and plenty of sunshine this morning. Lambs are up an about, trying to persuade their mums to stand so they can have breakfast. Most ewes ignoring lambs for the moment, preferring to lie on their bed of warm grass for a while longer

David, that is real shame about Aquion. The technology sounds good, so no doubt someone will buy it up and start production again one day. I guess you have lost whatever warranty was offered on the batteries, just hope you have no problems in the near future. Anyway if you did, you know what you are doing, so you will always find a work around - yet another potential project to keep your brain working

32, and only getting sleet mixed with rain here, then likely some snow later this morning and windy...had snow for a few hours yesterday afternoon while I was clearing an area with the chainsaw. My chainsaw is real tired, its shoulders are aching, so good that the weather will give it a rest today.

Sure could use a slice of cherry pie with this cup of Nicaragua coffee this morning.

30 this morning and light snow ground covered and that's about it. Wind picks up later today snow showers but we are basically done

NE hunker down time some areas huge amounts of snow others dry slotted but a pretty big deal nonetheless

Shower and bath remodel at a standstill shower plumbing roughed in wrong looks like a lot of tile will have to come down and we remain on hold for another couple of weeks. At least the toilet works and the heated floor which feels good on your feet

21 right now. Tractor is greased and fueled. Waiting for the storm to start here. Generator is fueled up waiting. Will be going out at least two times before final cleanup. 24 inches and heavy wind will give me lots of drifts. Stay safe everyone.
