We spent a week at the Grand Canyon about 6 years ago, Randy. Stayed in Flagstaff and drove up to the Canyon. We became quite fond of that area. Cameron Trading Post is a must-stop place, out in the Painted Desert. And yes, we did the Winslow thing as well (while we were nearby for Meteor Crater).
That trip was the weekend before Thanksgiving, 1972, after a 100 mile run picking up Indians hitch hiking to a pow wow, I rolled into Winslow just as Take It Easy Came on the radio of my '68 Sport Fury. True story.

We've had snow showers, some near white out for a few minutes, all day, then bright sunshine.

that Flagstaff snow, all four feet is coming your way! Just because you like it so much....;)

You guys in Canada and Michigan, stay warm. We haven't had a real bone chiller here yet.
Of course some think that happens when it gets below 40....above.

Good afternoon! 82, sunny. Nice day almost finished with the west side perimeter trail. I need a little more tractor work but I'm breaking while waiting for my apple tamales to cool.

Want to take my HS senior out west after graduation, not sure how much time I'll have though. We have to take him to Arkansas to register for college classes, it's only another 1000 miles to the canyon, lol.

You can assume that. We average 1 a yr in the 20 yrs I've lived here. A couple rolled a mile away, took the front off a house there twice.

You could put up a sign at the top of the curve stating how many rollovers there have been on the upcoming curve. Make the sign so you can change the numbers.

Another delay on finishing the east trail. My gravel guy dropped some pothole filler for my driveway.IMG_0283.JPG

I thought of that, it could be in my yard.

Cops won't stop them, because they say there's no shoulder to pull them off on. Yet, cops will sit and pull over people going to church on sundays, when there is no truck traffic. ( yea, I got stopped once, lol)

Good evening all. 44F this morning, clear skies, near calm. Winds stayed light, temp rose to 72F, skies mostly clear. Two more days like this then seasonal temps return. Did some more consulting today and worked on billing. Choir practice and bike filled out the day. Stove needs ashes removed for the cold spell, 10-speed chain needs lube and I need to work on new bike project. Not to mention continue to work on garage organization :).

The little village of Wrenbury is only a few miles down the road from here. I actually live in a converted pig building (not quite the castle of Drew's fertile imagination !), but do consider myself very fortunate to have come to live in Shropshire. For those that enjoy slow travel, there can be no better way to take in the scenery than from a canal boat.

Did your travels along the Shropshire Union take you over to Wales on the Pontcysyllte aqueduct ? For others who probably have not heard of it, this is one of the finest pieces of engineering of the era and must still be one of the scariest boat trips in the world.

Pontcysyllte Aqueduct - Wikipedia

Did that about 25 years ago. Fantastic. The scary part was (check out the second photo) There is only 4 inches of cast iron trough between you and a drop of 127 feet to the ground or river below. And the trough is over 200 years old.

About 8 degrees right now...heading up to the mid-20's. Maybe an inch or so in the forecast today.

Jim, that's why we rely on tourists to keep testing it :D

Almost never hear my wife swear, except the time I suggested we take that boat ride too.
