55 this morning and headed to 76 today. Rain chances have disappeared from forecast today.

Take youngest son to doctor this morning and then back to try and find out why I have no trailer brakes on gooseneck. Was going to move the dozer yesterday but no brakes. A 12,500lb dozer is too much to move without trailer brakes. Have power at plug on truck but trailer is ohming. Think I have a stuck magnet. Will find it.

Eric. Is that wood cook stove your only heat source?

"But Honey, it looked so forlorn and lonely sitting there in that old farmer's barn, and his kids needed new shoes, so I gave him a few bucks and dragged the thing home. Won't take much to get it running, and it'll be so fun taking the grand daughter for hay rides!"

Good Morning! 54F @ 5:15AM. Mostly sunny. High 66F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph.

Not as much progress as I'd hoped yesterday. Finished putting the first layer of sound deadening in the doors, but got stopped cold trying to fit the windows. It was easy to drop them into the door before the wing window frame went in, but then I couldn't get the frame past the window. So I installed the wing window only to find that I could no longer get the window in. So this'll be a joint project for me and the mechanic along with the rest of the windows. Better to pay for a little help than have to buy new windows!

Errands in town this morning, including the annual physical, then home by early afternoon when I'll try to get some parts painted. Our nice weather is supposed to hold through tomorrow as well.

RedNeckGeek, Did you ever sell cars at Fibben Floyds Auto Sales down on the coast , if not you might think about doing it. You just left off the part about selling it and taking the family to Disney World with the profits. I have been married 42 years and drug in so much stuff it looks like a implement dealership, she made us become a Corporation just so it took two signatures on ever check. So I will have to take lessons from you about the softer side.LOL

Eric, I looked up Esse wood stoves, very impressive.

Farmer, I have come to hate trailer wiring. In Michigan, the salt really plays heck with anything that corrodes. Our humidity doesn't help either.

Last year, my then 3 1/2 year old grandson was out in my shop, I was working on a Deutz Allis I had. Tanner went in to the bathroom and asks mom mom when pop pop got the new tractor, never said anything to me. She said, That's one of his old tractors, Tanner said mom mom, I know red from green, from black and I don't know what it is but it's not a John Deere! His dad is regional sales manager for Site One, formerlly John Deere Landscaping, so he knows John Deere. He knew that was the wrong green!

Around 60 this morning, near 80 later, record is 79 for the date here.

I've had to completely rewire every trailer I ever bought except for one, and that one was new and I had to move the tail lights higher on the frame because they kept dragging on the street. No corrosion out here to speak of, just a lot of really dumb amateur electricians!:confused2:

61°F this morning, going up to 72° and cloudy all day. We got a fair amount of rain last night.

Nice stove, Eric. We have a Ben Franklin wood stove in our basement that hasn't been used in years. Wife shoved an electric log in there a few years ago, which flickers and crackles and looks nice, but produces no heat. We decided during the remodel that we will convert it to a gas burner, clean the flue, and use it again. There's nothing like warmth from a fire.

Good morning all. 52 this morning going to 60 and sunny. Up a little early this morning, Had a tooth filled last week and it started hurting a few days ago. Doc sent me some pills but it has only helped a bit and sleep was scarce last night. Wife had to go to the oral surgeon and had 2 teeth pulled, one a molar and her pain meds are worse than the pain so she is having it worse than me. Rough night. My mom was here yesterday she is 92 and we had a good visit, but nether of us felt much like visiting. No plans for today except hoping for a nap, but will likely get into something.

Good morning. A lovely morning. Just perfect for being up a tree watching nature, like wngsprd :thumbsup:- or in my case, fighting nature, cutting yet more brambles :thumbdown: I need to find a tougher glove.

Makes sense in England because I bet they have water kettles on for the cup of tea, where most of us head for
the coffeemaker. Also nice way to add humidity in a dry winter though I always associate England with being damp to begin with.

You guessed right about the kettle. I put industrial metal ducting with vents into each room when we built the house, with a small fan running all the time to keep the air fresh and the humidity down - regardless of how often we make tea

The kitchen range and a wood burner in the lounge provide enough heat for most of the house. As a backup all our downstairs rooms have water pipes buried in the screed, with a ground source heat pump able to come on and warm the screed if the internal temperate falls.

Good Morning, 45F here in Indiana 100 miles south of Chicago, says high of 57F today. Cut firewood yesterday so I have to dig the Husky splitter out this morning, its behind two tractors ,a tiller and two walk behind snowblowers .More time in getting it out then using it. Time change this weekend , use to be it was only messed up for half the year and they fixed it to all year,probably that Al Gore guy again. It is always one hour earlier three miles north of me. The town east of me is on slow time but the school they go to is on fast time so the people go by fast time and the government says they are slow time. Yes people in Indiana do not know what time it is.Our cell phones change time back and forth because the towers we hit, its a hour earlier in the basement.At least the wood I am doing is for kindling to fast start off the coals in the morning,it is catalpa tree, weighs like balsa wood ,smells like diesel fuel .Fast and hot.
