Don, the county has been lax on our ditch mowing too. We have a new commissioner. I wonder if their budgets have been chopped due to oilfield crash?

The weed eater was no match for the road weeds, I had to break out the machete and settle for 2' weeds instead of 6' weeds.
Break time.

Back to work today after 6 days camping.. had the whole family (all 3 kids, spouses, grandkids). It was a nice relaxing long weekend. We went out last Wednesday to secure a spot at National Park Service campground that usually has some first come first serve spots. We had some rain two days, but were nice and cozy inside trailer (kids were in tents at night). No one got hurt and I think all had a great time.

Missed reading this forum though, it always brightens my mornings.

82.6F and partly sunny @ 12:00 ... heading up to a high of 89F with the chance of a thunderstorm ... looks like warm weather is back until at least Sunday.

Need to drop loader/box blade, install MMM, and get the front lawns cut.

Finished 4-way wedge for log splitter yesterday, have to weld on the reconfigured brackets for the log lift cylinder and then should be good to go.

Farmer, it's no fun taking care of kids when both parents are sick. Get well soon.

Kyle. No it isn't. But my wife got sick first and I called mom. She took both the boys for the day. I ended up getting sick as they were leaving. She ended up keeping them over night. No big deal for grandma. We didn't want them around it.

have you figured out your retail price when you market the log lift?
I think Northern Tools wants over 1500 bucks for theirs.
new career; log lifts for $999? :D

didn't have a good morning. Got the truck into the body shop ok, then the Jag nav got me utterly lost, said it knew where we were going, out in the middle of nowhere, and then when we got in the area, actually apologized and said it could no longer provide guidance. And at the same time my new brakes failed, clunkety clunk when stopping plus a constant light thunking noise. Drove it straight back to the repair place and they will fix it. And here I am a single guy with two vehicles renting a car from Enterprise. At least it had XM...
Well, forget about all that, and I'm off to mow the roadsides. Getting pretty hot out there again. Lots of sun screen;at least it shouldn't be too dusty yet after our 6-7 inches of rain. Helper is here so we will both be mowing.

hope you are feeling better soon Farmer, the whole family too.

aahhh, what could go wrong on a lovely day out mowing roadsides?
Nothing. But there taking up almost my entire roadside on the opposite end of the property was a hundred foot tulip poplar down over the road. The road had been cleared but what a mess. I hooked up my trailer to the Gravely and pulled a trailer load of top branches home; the trunk way down there is close to two feet. A call was put out to my firemen friends. I love using a chainsaw but this kind of clearing is hard work and it was 90 ++ out. So tomorrow I'll go back for another load. Tree was green and living and covered in a thick mesh of poison ivy and poison oak vines. Lovely...sure did wash twice when I got in. Poison oak really tears me up, leaves scars actually.

I think I have had enough challenges today. Looking for a rug to hide under.

Howdy David!

Slept in today, then helped my wife out a bit, lunch with friends, then a trip to Lowes to get supplies for the next couple of projects. 90F outside, and really humid. Staying inside for awhile!

going to look at this tomorrow. Much more than I wanted to spend, but easy at my local Kubota dealer,
they just took on trade. Made in India, 49hp, basic 4 speed with two ranges, large three cylinder natural diesel, almost new.
they would do twelve even with tax and all fluids and filters changed. Book is allegedly 14k.
My only concern would be parts; started a thread on that.
Seems to be a lot of tractor for twelve grand and likely very durable.
Reroute the muffler downwards and this would make a nice woods tractor for me.

Isn't Christmas pretty soon? ;)

Good evening all. 76F this morning, windy from south partly cloudy skies. Made it to 94F, mostly cloudy skies. Had some honey do items and 2.5 hours of consulting to a 1 hr nap. I keep practicing and may get this sleeping in the day thing done.

Humidity was back today, more tomorrow. Still not too bad compared to most of the summer. Funny how the heat and humidity feel different now than a couple of weeks back.

Good morning. Another day yesterday without rain and hopefully the same today. I've been waiting quite a while for the steep bank at the back to dry out enough to get on with the mower. Cutting downhill is easy, uphill needed diff lock a few times.

Slope cutting with our Grillo Climber is about the same sensation as riding a roller coaster - possibly even more buttock clinching, as I can never be sure where the rabbits have been digging their holes in the longer grass. For those of you unfamiliar with Grillo as it's an Italian manufacturer you may not have come across, think of a racing kart for hills that just happens to cut grass too Climber 9.22 Grillo Spa - Agrigarden Machines

Drew, I would be amazed if you can't get parts for that Massey, it looks a steady evolution of the old but very good MF 35. Should be a tough machine - probably the only thing you will need to buy is a new tin of wax for that shiny red bonnet :)

That Grillo looks a little like a vintage Indy car.
