Good morning!!!!

started mowing at 6:45am and ended fifteen minutes ago.
Quick shower, and decided not to tackle the stone pile. Rather do it tomorrow morning when I'm not so tired.
Since I have to take the tiller off the back of the tractor and put the blade on, just more than I want to do today.
I hope you all have a great holiday weekend. You too Eric, rejoice, you got rid of us ill mannered colonists.

RNG, do you carry in case of mountain lions? I've seen video of them stalking and pouncing, and they are quite stealthy. A fun thing to do if you have absolutely nothing to do would be to go to the public boat launch and watch the rookie boat launching show. It can be hilarious at times, with husbands yelling at wives or kids about what to do or not do.

Kyle, I don't carry for lions, but it is one of the "Just Cause" reasons I listed on my application. I do keep an eye out for them when I'm in the woods, and carry on occasion for other reasons, mostly two legged ones.

And as far as entertainment, I got enough of bickering spouses and kids back in the old neighborhood to last a lifetime. Not to mention my recent debacle of a marriage. No thanks!

Sounds like your boy is making a good recovery, Farmer. Maybe he's more active because he feels better without his tonsils?

Got the patch in the van floorpan done, but it's not an example of my best work. I made it a little too small, and ended up building up weld metal to fill in places where the thinned out floor just evaporated under the welding wire. Not pretty, but I don't think it'll leak. Just to make sure, I'll hit it with some undercoating on the underside, and body sealer on the top. While checking my work on the underside of the floor, I noticed a plastic cover over the accelerator cable linkage. When I removed it I found that the sheet metal screws holding it on also went through the floor, and none of them were sealed. I think I'll be spending a little time under the van before the pop top goes on looking for more holes...

But it's already 92 so that'll have to wait for tomorrow. I'm thinking it's time to get the rub goin' on the tritip so I can set it to smokin' in a couple hours. Then a light lunch, and perhaps a siesta nap. This job's tough, but somebody's gotta do it. :D:laughing:

RNG. Very well may be. He's also more vocal. Doctor said after the surgery they were large enough it could have been interfering with his speech and part of the reason he wasn't talking. He had said in the office the tonsils were large. But also said after the surgery they were larger than expected. Actually used the word huge.

I'm glad your Mom lived such a long life and you have that life of memories to hold Buckeye.
Sorry for your loss.

I think I'm headed to the hot tub to easy some aches and pains; my right wrist and hand are all swollen up again from five hours of mowing.
I've already had carpal tunnel surgery, and ulnar nerve surgery, and they helped but I guess this is just progression of arthritis.
Body is swelling up and speaking to me plainly, not so much you fool.

Ron, are you where you thought you'd be by now? I hope much better. My next older brother had his entire knee replaced and he thought he would bounce back in a month, mind over matter. Very unhappy camper to find a much longer recovery time, and a long time to take those steps forward after going backwards.

the pills they give you for swelling, and I still have plenty from the last time, are likely steroids of some sort and not real wonderful on the body.
going to try the hot tub instead. I just changed the water in it so it should be extra nice, now that all my house water is filtered. Not soft, just finely filtered.
Though I think it's the minerals in those healing spas that are helpful but who knows. Need to get some of Larro's Fountain of Youth water and put it in my tub!
He bottles it at his remote camp, where he found all those gold doubloons. And several bales of money when the narco plane overshot the Glades and missed their drop.
No wonder he spends so much time there. ;)

C'mon Drew, be careful.
XKeyscore and Prism pick up on stuff like that and a new hire operative might start an investigation.

Buckeye, sorry for your loss. No matter how expected or how long her life, it doesn't really soften the blow.

This was just spotted on the local sheriff's Facebook feed:

BCSO will help rescue cats too….
This morning, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office got a call from a citizen who reported that she woke up to find a mountain lion sitting in a tree in her back yard! BCSO deputies were dispatched to the residence on Myers Street in Oroville and sure enough, there was a mountain lion in a tree. The deputies secured the scene and called the Department of Fish & Wildlife. After a game warden arrived a plan to tranquilize the big cat and remove it from the tree was formulated. Deputies assisted by keeping onlookers at a safe distance, so the game warden could administer the tranquilizer. Before the drug could take effect though, the cat jumped out of the tree and ran out of the back yard. The cat traveled a few blocks under the close observation of the deputies and warden, who were ultimately able to contain the cat in the back yard of a house on Elgin Street. After the tranquilizer took effect and the cat was sleeping peacefully, it was safely removed from the area and relocated to an appropriate area.
The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public for the calls on the mountain lion and would like to remind everyone that although it’s rare for mountain lions to be sighted in populated areas, they can be extremely dangerous. The Sheriff’s Office would encourage the public not to approach a mountain lion, keep a safe distance and call law enforcement if one is located.
