Saw a leak under the F150 when I got home yesterday. It was around the transmission and whatever it was, the drops evaporated pretty fast (on an asphalt driveway). It wasn't green, like anti-freeze and it didn't smell like gasoline. I did put my finger in one of the drops...brownish and somewhat slippery.
I'm not sure what it was, but my guess is transmission oil...and probably one of the lines going to the front cooler. I'm going to check this out today.

Couldn't find any leak even after driving a 20 mile round trip. No idea what, exactly the leak was or where, exactly, it was on the truck...

RS, fascinating process to get your bees removed...crazy seeing that guy wearing shorts and tank top. That beehive looked like good insulation for your garage :).

Got the top part of the frame for the screen all welded up:

Reminder to self: When removing the jug of mineral spirits from welding table prior to welding, make sure to remove the mineral spirit-soaked rag as well ... preferably before pulling the trigger on the MIG gun:

Billy,

Yup, I sure found it to be ...

... crazy seeing that guy wearing shorts and tank top.
He was saying that newly established hives tend to be way less aggressive.

If it had been there all summer long - or for a number of years - way different story apparently.

They mainly got him on his hands, as he was reaching up between the studs to pull the comb down, and then handling it.

Like I said, I didn't get stung once ... and I was helping (take the siding down, vacuuming up the bees, picking through the comb trying to find the queen, etc.) ... and I had no protection whatsoever (shorts, t-shirt)

That beehive looked like good insulation for your garage :).
LOL ... yeah, probably so ... at least in the winter ... I understand that they like to keep it in the 90's ...

Brown slippery fluid but can find it only under the truck . . . sounds like some one was chewing tobacco, and you parked your truck on top.

Don, I keep hearing horrible weather forecasts for you guys and now a bunch of soldiers have apparently drowned, really sad and clearly dangerous conditions.
3 Fort Hood soldiers dead, 6 missing amid Texas flooding - CNN.com

That is sad.

At 11PM it is now 5 dead 4 missing.

Everything is so full and saturated even the 1.25" rain we had this morning made our low water crossing impassable.
It looks like 2 more days of showers before the low moves South.

I now have a 100 yard long 4' deep 20' wide washout behind my big dam instead of the pretty spillway that was once there. I'm going to have to figure some way to make it smooth again, it looks like a dozer for a day or many days of tractor work.

Good morning all. 63 here this am and going to 82. 60% chance of rain this pm. I keep thinking of all the people effected by the flooding in Texas. We think of houses flooded and roads blocked........ I also think of work missed because of flooding, a lot of people can't afford to miss a lot of work, farmers are having to wait to do anything, even if their fields are not flooded they can't be worked. Restaurants will have a few less people eating, it has to be effecting everything. Prayers sent. Ed

66 going to 84 today with showers after lunch. Rain predicted each day through Sunday, with Sunday being a pretty sizeable forecast, then beautiful sunny dry weather next week.

I have a string trimmer to fix, blades to sharpen and oil to change on a few pieces of equipment, then tomorrow I hope to start planting sunflowers.

Flooding in Europe too...France flooding: Louvre moving some artwork as waters rise in Paris - CNN.com

That machine is very dusty to operate. So I have fans running and start at the fans and drive to the front doors. These are tunnel style barns. 20,000 sqft each. It calls for 60hp but my mx5200 handles it just fine.

Sounds good tactics. Another way to cut down on the dust could be a fine water mist where the cake is lifted, but suppose that would be one other thing to go wrong.

I certainly wouldn't like to be on the wrong side of the fans when you start decrusting :) .

Good morning all. So many experiencing, or about to get deluged by heavy rain, makes me realise how fortunate I am today to not have a drop to worry about and no high winds either.

I am having to work on some urgent (and paid) design stuff today and at the same time keep track of some tree surgeons who I booked to come a couple of weeks ago. They are quite local, but I had to hire them without any good (or bad) recommendations. I need them to clear up some dead elms and other trees that are too close to the railway track for me to bring down safely. There is more than a day's work for them, so agreed they come today, fell as much as they can and then come back when I have applied to the railtrack company to put a stop on the line and halt the trains while they climb the trees that cross over the railroad boundary.

71, going to 86 and rain likely.

Got the fields I wanted to bush hog done. Swapped off the blade for my string trimmer head and got a start on that...much more to do.

Terrible to see the flooding you guys are getting and the loss of lives of brave rescue crew.

63 this morning and headed to 86 today. Rain chances start at daylight tomorrow.

Have a doctors appointment for the wife today. Hopefully her last ultrasound. Then back to find something to do outside, because if not my wife will drive me crazy as my sister is in the hospital having a baby. Wife's all upset about whats happening. I said they'd call when they wanted us to come see them or we'd see them at Christmas. Anyways it looks like a trip to Louisville is in my future. Not something I am looking forward to.

Good morning 67˚. Cloudy. The low is right over us now and we are like in the eye of a hurricane - no wind, no rain, as the low moves down South we will expect more rain. All but 170 low water crossings in the area are open. The news reported this morning that every lake flood gate in the state is open.

My small pond dam broke again and half the water is gone but I'll let it be. I'll have to re-dig the pond later this summer to get out all the sand that has washed in it.

Good morning all (glub glub). 7.4 in rain in 24 hours, 4.8 in in about 5 hour during last afternoon. 69F at the start near calm wind and overcast. Forecast has 35% chance of showers this afternoon and a high of 76F. Long range has today as best chance of rain and hit 90F in a few days. It's hard to think about irrigation right now but need to get system tested as when the rain stops, it stops for the summer. Passed 2,000 miles on the biking. TMA same as yesterday didn't finish anything on the list.
