Good morning all. 62 here this morning going to 83. They are calling for heavy rain and we have a flash flood watch for us from 4 pm til midnight. 40% chance til noon then 70-80% til midnight Sunday. Nothing like Texas though, Hope and pray they soon have a break in the rain.

Kile I hope on my part that it is a temporary condition. Hope to get my exercise in the pool and walking around the pool table looking for the next shot. :D Is walking around the pool table considered exercise?

Farmer 2009 :jump::jump::applause: Glad to hear your great news.

Kevin Good looking stain job.

68 fog and going to 85. Got a good shower last evening...likely more tonight.

Ed, you are really thinking positively. At least if you have to move to town, you couldn't pick a much finer place than Waynesboro.

Drew, my tiller leaves a couple inches on the right, too. Gives me good parallel sight lines about 5 feet apart, so when I'm following up with the spreader I can calibrate distance easily, especially on some of my curved/dogleg plots.

Eric, always interesting to read about how regulations and permits work in your country...hope you get your tree down safely. I haven't visited the Alien thread in a long while, but since you said you have new problems, I'll go check.

This is all leading up to surgery on he 13th. Maybe. It's like a secret plan to keep you guessing. Need to clean garden pond this morning. Then cut lawn. Going to get MMM on tractor today. Will make it a lot easier on the body.
Good Morning All.

Good morning! Cloudy 70˚ Chances of rain are going down today and next week we are expecting to dry out.

Drew if you find turning your head while swimming is to uncomfortable you could always get a snorkel OR if you don't like to snorkel because of the tube in your mouth and fogging you can do like I did and order this new Amazon.com : Tribord Easybreath - Snorkeling Mask (S/M) : Sports & Outdoors mask. No more tubes to hold in you mouth and no fogging I highly recommend it. Swimming in the pool it is working good. I can't wait to go snorkeling in the Caribbean, the view is so much wider and clearer than a regular snorkel mask.

Ron, good luck on the surgery, keep us posted. Drew, you're having too much fun! Don, good news on the rain, maybe you'll have a nice mild summer. Partly cloudy and cool this morning, mid 60's, going to low 80's, severe weather for tomorrow afternoon. Heading out to grandson's T-ball game.

Kyle, my wife doesn't think I'm working hard enough, to stay out of her hair! :D

Good morning all! We have escaped much of the area rains yesterday and it looks promising today so far.

Headed to a big wedding in Taylor Texas this afternoon.

They finally caught a suspect in the Austin area, they think he's a copycat offender, of someone who's been indiscriminately throwing large rocks at cars on Interstate I35. IIRC, over 80 incidents, nearly killing some people. I know it might be wrong, but a part of me wishes the victims would have a chance to return the favor.

70 this morning and headed to 79 today. Only a tenth of an inch of rain overnight. More rain and thunderstorms for today.

Not too much planned. A trip to Louisville to see sister and her new baby. Probably won't want to do anything else today when I get back. But will need to check cows at some point. Really expect wife to want to do some baby shopping at some point today now that she knows what color to buy. But the instructions haven't been given so I'm keeping my mouth shut.

Eric. That's the best part of working with metal. Is it's too short you can add to it. Wood. Go get another piece.

Today is the church's neighborhood pig roast. Pig went on at 630 last night, so has been cooking 16 hrs so far. Made modifications to the roasting pit, added an outside firebox and an exhaust stack. Keeping oven temp at 250.

Calling for 70% chance of rain this afternoon, so might have to eat indoors.

71.5F and heavy overcast @ 11:00 ... thunderstorms are on the menu.

Woman reported that all bees had vacated the rear garage area after she got home from work. Guess they gave up.

Got pretty much all the brush moved from the tree line on the south side of the garden area, next to the gas line right-of-way, to higher ground which drains better. Had been piling it up there for years. Looks like I destroyed the raccoon nursery in the process, which is just fine with me.

Also got almost all of a big pile of decaying poplar logs removed from the area north of the polebarn. Should help that area dry out some. It was sitting next to a big pile of clay that that I need to build up the floor inside the polebarn.

Was up in the field until around 03:00 ... having a little bonfire. Winds were pretty much dead calm, so it seemed like a good time to have one.

Surprising how much fuel a little bonfire requires over a three hour period ...

Probably going to be a few more of those in my immediate future.

I need to build a BBQ pit, I use to have one many decades back, it attracts a lot of company though! Yours is very nice!

RS neat bee removal picks. I had a lot of trouble with woodpeckers at the old house, especially right before staining time on the siding. They would pop out a knot and make a nest :(
Yeah ... hear them occasionally here as well, hammering away on the siding.

Think they might be after whatever is under it, bug-wise.

Never had them make any nests ... at least that I know of.

They could be the culprit as far as what's popping out the knots tho' ...

Never had any honey bees. Now carpenter bees in the fascia ...
Those (carpenter bees) have showed up here in the last couple of years. Don't ever recall seeing them before that.

What is a Water Buffalo?
Basically just a little tow-behind wagon with a 55 gallon plastic drum laid on its side with a hose attached that we use for watering plants in remote areas where the hose don't reach.

Thought I had a pic of it but can't find it.

The only machine I recall being called a water buffalo was the Suzuki 7500water cooled triple.

Be safe
Have a great day

Sounds colder in Hawaii than here, heat index of 96 drove me in, just wasn't fun anymore.
Got a section of the new land seeded with Burpee's Bee and Wildflower Mix, then I started on the sunflowers and got the dwarf varieties planted, the ones up front. It's about to open up again with downpours so good timing. Will try to get some more planted tomorrow morning. I can press my finger down into the soil super easily, no need for a row, though I did my old fashioned tomato stakes and green twine routine. Been doing it that for almost 60 years; remembered helping my father in the garden when very small.

1.5 inches of rain last 24 hours and another inch predicted; getter more active each day
weather just updated to 1.8 inches predicted in rain starting fairly soon.
