69F - 72.4F and supposedly overcast ... but it sure looks like sun streaming through that window to me. Predicted high today is 81F - 83F with little chance for precipitation. Normal for today is 74F.

Cavs really got waylaid last night ... gotta hand it to GS ... they're good.

Despite the little shot of rain we got yesterday I think the ground is as dry as it's been for quite a while now. Probably should throw the grapple on and try to get some of the brush from the garden area moved to the rear of the property ... since they are calling for thunderstorms tomorrow and Sunday. Could be a real treat with no chainsaw to trim the loads tho' ...

Front lawn needs mowed before it gets too far out of control, so later today I'll need to drop the loader and rake and install the MMM ... after I grease it.

Also hope to finish the clean up on the rear of the barn today and get the extension ladder moved over to start cleaning the gutters.

Also wheel/tire repairs on the tow-behind dump wagon and water buffalo.

Real mess down there in Texas ... hopefully things will return to a more normal state of affairs soon, without anymore loss of life and property.

... I stepped on the scale this morning and it had gone nowhere, meaning not down with all this exercise. Perhaps still a little too much fuel being given to the engine...

Same here Drew, wife makes some fine "high test" fuel, and I can resist everything but temptation. With over 15,000 feet of climb, 500 miles, and 25,000+ calories burned I would have lost something :confused2::eek: :ashamed:

RS neat bee removal picks. I had a lot of trouble with woodpeckers at the old house, especially right before staining time on the siding. They would pop out a knot and make a nest :( Never had any honey bees. Now carpenter bees in the fascia ... What is a Water Buffalo? The only machine I recall being called a water buffalo was the Suzuki 7500water cooled triple.

Car now at the shop after I drove it there on own power.
Pulled the Jag around to the trailer with my Kubota UTV, then half loaded it, so mechanic could crawl underneath. And yes, a linkage bolt missing. We went back to look and sure enough, right under where the car was, was the bolt. Went down to the barn, got some Loctite, and with some close quarter fiddling, the bolt went back in. Key in starter, engine starts, everything works perfectly. Yeah.
:dance1:
Hot and sticky here, need to go mow and it's going to be a sweaty day. Already on second shirt...

Only 69° at 11 AM, wow, supposed to get to 79° today, overcast again, yesterday got to 75° when the sun came out late in the day. But it's like a sauna out there, "close" as they say here on the shore.

That's great, Happy days here also. Went to Dads this morning to work on his 3610 Ford tractor clutch that would not engage. I had him clamp down the clutch pedal for a few days and this morning I set the brake, Put the bucket in the ground and at a idle threw it in in low gear and it popped the clutch loose. Working again. :cool2:

68°F and no rain since midnight

Went up Mauna Kea with friends and saw the sunset yesterday. Later had a private tour of one of the telescopes. Very informative. Operator was a young fellow we knew as a waiter at local restaurant when he was a student.

Be safe
Have a great day.

Car must not have been prepared for all the full throttle runs you did after first getting it. :D

Kevin, stain looks great!

83 degrees, feels like 92, but going down in pouring afternoon thunderstorms. Looks like same scenario next two days.

got my mowing done, mulching done and the new acre tilled. Cleaned the Woods tiller with air gun, saw oil running out of chain case, no wonder nothing in there when I got it/was given the tiller. I'm going to order a new gasket for the case. Darn thing left a pool of oil on my driveway...

Feeling kinda dull today. spent the day yesterday in the barn, when it rains the water runs through and the mold and mildew smell is pretty bad. Today My mind is stuck in low gear and just feel like going into hibernation. Got help coming tomorrow and will spend the day in the barn again. I love moving. I love moving. I love moving. It's not working, will be very glad when it's done.

I got a call from the massey dealer, the trans on the GC2400 was acting sluggish. He found a bolt loose and a roll pin broken and the bill will be less than $300. I was worried it would be over $3000.

Still praying for texas folks.
Daugen Glad about your car.

Well wife's doctors visit went good. They finally got all the pictures they needed and baby was cooperative enough to confirm that we are having another boy.

They took sisters baby by c-section today. That gives her her second daughter. Both are fine. Guess we will be making a drive to see them.

Drew. Good news on car.

Don. Good news on tractor. Hate to hear about the soldiers down your way. Stay safe.

Grass mowed, weeds and vines sprayed all around the edge of the woods, hedgerow and holly grove. Sprayed the clam shell drive, less growth every year in the driveway and turn outs. Took the front loader out and smoothed up the entrance to the driveway, where everyone that can't read a road sign turns around. Replaced the directional valve on the sprayer, stopped the bypassing to the boom when using the wand, but I keep the rubber gloves over the boom nozzles just in case.

Glad your Massey won't cost you so much to fix. I am so glad you love moving. :)

Randy, you and Ed are working too hard.

Drew, I'll take that gift horse tiller off your hands if you don't want it, since it has a bad tooth. :)

59 right now...heading up to 81 today. Since I mowed on Thursday, not much I need to do outside.
I do think I found the leak on the truck I'd written about a couple days ago...still need to confirm it though. I had filled the windshield reservoir a week or two back. On the way to work yesterday (Friday, 03 June), I tried to was bug splatter off...no fluid. The reservoir was empty. I'll fill it with water and see what happens over the next week or two.

a warm 72 out, going to high 80's, woken up by thunderstorms, wet way to start the day, and then more showers this afternoon. I was hoping to plant sunflowers today but just have to see. Might go to the pool at the country club and swim some laps this morning, see how that feels on my neck. I love to swim but with four inches of titanium in my neck, bending the neck for breathing isn't as easy as it used to be. But I love the water

Small mystery here. Trying to identify this crazy loud bird that squawks(sings???) loudly each morning, in the dark, gosh, now there are two of them squawking back and forth at each other. Loud, not like birds at all...I have mockingbirds here, are they really that loud? Sounds almost like a loud crow...

Larro, get out your umbrella...and this looks like why I'm not going to dry out for a while; next week was supposed to be dry and beautiful, maybe not any more.

checked my email, I have a date for swimming, so I'm hitting the pool at 10am. Maybe I can get some planting done after lunch before it opens up again. Luckily the sandy soil drains pretty well so even though it rained on six inches of super soft soil, still should be easily workable. I hope...
Yesterday was some seriously fun seat time, tilling the land for the second/last time before planting. Had the a/c on, Nora Jones on the stereo and I crept along at a speedy 1 mph. Even hit 1.2mph at times. Seems to be a happy spot where the vibration is low, the engine is working a bit, though I'm only running at 1600 rpm. Temps stayed at four bars, diesel tank full, I was a happy camper. Found out my local New Holland dealer is the Woods dealer too so I'm headed there next week to get a 24 dollar gasket so when I take the chain casing off, which is dripping fluid like crazy, and clean out that area for likely the first time in its life, I'll have a new gasket to put back on. I had filled the reservoir and only knew I had a problem when I parked the tractor on my driveway, for just a few minutes...and there was an almost foot wide pool of oil on my nice new driveway. Should be an easy fix. I had taken the time to get the tiller perfectly level, adjusting the three point arms, but when in operation, it still leaves a two inch high row to the right, likely due to the rotation of the blades and the angle I have the tiller on, pushed way over to the right to cover that tire. Won't bother my planting at all.

Coffee is done brewing. 53° with clear skies his morning. Heading to 79° with mostly cloudy skies. Yesterdays doctors visit created another test next week. Getting old is not for he weak. This is all leading up to surgery on he 13th. Maybe. It's like a secret plan to keep you guessing. Need to clean garden pond this morning. Then cut lawn. Going to get MMM on tractor today. Will make it a lot easier on the body.
Good Morning All.

Good morning. Birds woke us early too - swallows chattering at 4:00 am. Nice to see so many of you have been finishing jobs and having success with things going to plan, unexpected fixes and even identifying baby's bits.

My day yesterday wasn't quite as good, more like the one Edd had. The tree people I hired were fine and when they had finished for the day I rang the contact I had been given at the rail company to arrange a date to cut down the single remaining tree that crosses their boundary. Simple enough ?

Nope, now he wants to come out yet again, to inspect the same tree he has already seen and make a second assessment as part of their "risk management" process before he can agree a date. We had a brief discussion about nesting birds - did I have a bird survey and why not wait until next winter to carry out the work ? I gave the opinion that if the tree presented a hazard now, it was likely to grow out further over the coming months and that much as I like birds, I expected any risk assessment would put human safety first - to which he agreed it would. I ended up sending an email to try and get things moving, otherwise I get the feeling this will drag on and on. No wonder the other tree people I contacted wanted nothing to do with jobs involving a rail line.

Time to have some welding fun I thought, or at least getting ready for some by cutting some steel to length with my new, simple but effective, abrasive chop saw. As everyone says "Measure twice, cut once"

Measure to length- check

Measure mark again - check

Compare length with already cut piece - check

A few seconds of sparks and - perfect length .
Just a pity I had cut it from the wrong piece of metal, which is now too short :ashamed:. Never mind, suppose that's a good excuse for more welding practice on butt joints. :)

Edd, you are such a positive person, it will be fine once you get the move over and start unpacking the boxes.
