36F clear high 70F.
Blackflies were little hungry last night while stacking wood.
Well headed down off mountain soon for another 8 hours of work.

Enjoy the day all.

Good morning all. Beautiful morning here, having second cup of coffee, could be drinking it out on the front porch but a little bright to read this screen out there.

Had a very productive day yesterday- picked up a yard of topsoil for lawn patching, then two yards of hemlock mulch for DW's landscaping in the front of the house. Rototilled the garden, washed some equipment, then worked with DW to spread the mulch.

Not much scheduled for today- have babysitting duty while DW goes to eye doctor, then haircut and town budget meeting this evening.

66 this morning and headed to 84 today. Chance for thunderstorms again. Maybe not as bad as yesterday. Several tornadoes around.

Took my grandfathers tractor and tiller back to him. Got run off his place my bad weather. But no damage at lunch.

Then about 5:30 we left the DW for a safer place. Tornado warnings north and southwest. Squeezed between the storms to MIL house. Then get a call from my mom. Damage at parents farm and she saw the rotation. No pictures but trees laid every which way. Can't get in one way for broken power lines. Path was about 200' wide. All tree and fence damage. Missed barns by about 200'. Will be headed up there in a bit to help dad with cleanup.

Good morning,

FOG Is the word today. 59 heading to 78. Wife is only doing a half day so should be home around 11:00.

This LapTop is running and quiet this morning after yesterday's problems. Microsoft should call in the next three hours to see what is up with the windows 10 updates not working. :mur: Was down most of the day yesterday so I will need to catch up later.

I don't know how much rain we got but it was a lot. Sump pump is kicking on about every five to ten minutes. That is a lot for here.

Farmer, sorry about the damage and be careful out there.

Internet was moving pretty good this morning, 76 down and 8 up, or about what they advertise. Funny how the up is always so much lower. Do they limit the up for protection against things like denial of service attacks? They never give a reason...the current one said something about not wanting me to be my own POP.
Talk about killing the whole barrel to get a few bad apples. Now that TBN can handle large photo files again, it becomes an issue. I've been timed out before...
But many of you with satellite hookups like in parts of Texas would think you had fallen into a spaceship if your internet went that fast.

Gorgeous day outside, sat and had coffee with oldest brother and SIL on front porch rockers this morning, nice quality time together. Perfect temp, light breeze, birds of all kinds singing their songs. They are headed back to Virginia and I'm trying to get motivated to go out and water some more newly planted shrubs. Shrubs that would likely do just fine getting watered tomorrow. Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow. That bit of nonsense goes back a long ways...

The old timers claim panther is some of the best meat you will ever taste. Never tired it, but I'm thinking young cat would be tender.

Never had possum stew, but I can highly recommend it baked with sweet potatoes. Salt and pepper to taste, wrap foil around meat and potatoes. Bake at 350F until potatoes are done.
Throw away the possum, and eat the potatoes!:D

You guys in the path of the storms, be careful and Godspeed. Another dreary day here.

61.7F and overcast @ 10:00 ... high today is supposed to be 72F with thunderstorms. Like yesterday and today, rain likely for the next five days. Fortunately, all we got was a little spritzing ...

Need to move Simplicity into the garage today and pull the carb so I can rebuild it with the kit I picked up yesterday.

Yesterday I finished up working on the grapple (for the moment) by adding an additional vertical bar on the lower frame to keep the expanded metal from getting mushed in.

Got bevels ground on the square tube for the 3PH frame for the LPGS, got the tube laid out and fitted up, and got it tacked together:

Probably weld it up today (so it can be moved without coming apart) and then work on cutting the angle.

Good Morning! 67F @ 7:45AM. Plentiful sunshine. High 87F. Winds light and variable.

Thanks for your concern fellas, but I shower at least once a week. whether I need it or not. And I'll leave both the 'possums and dead cats to the buzzards, who I'm quit sure would be delighted with them

Stopped into the mechanic's yesterday to look over some bumper prototypes and arrange to pick up the base van next week. The bumpers looked very good; much more robust and better attached than anything else I've seen, and the front one looks to be easily adapted to a receiver for a winch. Both ends feature pockets for LED driving or work lights as well. Hopefully a set can be ready in a few months.

Also visited an automotive paint shop and picked up primer for the pop top parts. And learned that they don't carry either Dupont or PPG paint, as each company has decided to limit distribution to only one shop in town. And in my experience, that shop is populated with know nothings that have never been in let alone worked in a body shop. :pullinghair:

Starting in on drilling out spot welds on the donor van roof this morning, something I'm told is best done in several sessions spaced over a few days. Apparently it's pretty hard on the wrists and forearms. Then pressure wash the pop up tops so I can start in sanding them tomorrow.

Happy Hump Day!

would love to see a pic of that. So you will have two gens, this one and one larger?

Three function ones:
24kw primary that has been a huge disappointment
10kw backup military surplus I just hooked up.
2kw little Honda 2000i, great for those remote projects requiring a bit of juice and pressed into service twice in last 3 years as my only working backup

Oh, and a non functional Ridgid 8000 that I'll likely sell as is.

back on the bike. Nothing like a 15-30 mph head wind to remind you of all the excess weight you carry :ashamed: .

We have a new 15ks expressway complete with cycle way and everytime I have ridden it (3) I've had a head wind. I don't do head winds (or hills) very well. Tomorrow is 25k on an old rail bed. Including a 1 mile tunnel. It's dark in there.

42 right now...high of 80 today. Good day to take off (but I'm not).
Long day yesterday...didn't get home to just after 2000. I'm still a bit tired

Good morning all. A warm morning here with a heavy dew from yesterdays rains. Must have brought a lot of insects out, as out of the window I can see the swallows have already eaten their fill and are now sitting it out on the telephone line. They are probably trying to work out how many passes it will take them to fly over our black cars and turn them white.

It looks like I missed out on a lot of strange food yesterday, with all that casseroled cat and possum pie, plus RNG trying to lure in lunch and bake vulture vol-au-vents. Can't wait to see what soup of the day will be today.

David, if that generator is built as solidly as it looks, it should be ideal. Reminds me of the last ex-military thing I bought (a diesel tank), which also had numerous adhesive squares left behind from past labels.

54 and fog city...going to 74...about 15 or 16 straight days of rain, except one.

So Eric, did you buy a diesel storage tank, or a fun to drive on the farm and shoot kind of military tank? :)

Well, bought a San Antonio Texas-built Tundra yesterday - so very nice. I recommend the Costco buying program and had a great experience at the Toyota dealership. (Miss my 4Runner).

Heading out to take my son to catch Amtrak, then a haircut.

Need to pour second cup of coffee. 53° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 75° with possibility of thunderstorms. Back to neighbors field to do some more leveling for his chicken coup. We will see how that goes with thunderstorms headed this way. In between will be installing last of my LED flood lights in pole barn.
Roy, those long days got to be tough.
Wngsprd, glad you liked the Costco car buying plan. When do you pick up new truck. Or do you already have it.
Good Morning All.
