Observation on old diesel fuel

What fuel that was in my tractor from last winter about nine months old tractor started and rain fine just used that batch of fuel up very quickly like 50 percent faster than normal Fresh fuel usage back to normal. Fuel was treated with Amsoil stabilizers. By the way all fuel we run is on road diesel

Good Morning! 50F @ 5:45 AM. Partly cloudy. High 69F. Winds light and variable.

Buppies, I'm planning a driving trip from California to Ohio and back in a week or so. Where's the best place to find a nationwide weather forecast?

And along those lines, tried to upgrade the in dash radio on the F250 yesterday at Best Buy, but nothing I was interested in was in stock. And they wonder why they can't compete against the Internet stores. Ten minutes on the Crutchfield site "chatting" with a rep and I had everything I need, plus free installation tools, tips, and wiring harness adapters for the truck. The stuff should be here Monday.

Also stopped by my welding distributor to see about power cables for the winch. He didn't have a single piece of 1/0 wire long enough, but will have it by the time I get back. I won't need it until then, anyway.

When I arrive in Ohio I'll be staying at my mother's house, which I'll be cleaning out to put on the market. She's long departed, her partner was recently moved to an assisted living facility, and I'm hoping to do some light repairs and cleaning to get the place ready for an estate sale. Anybody have experience finding a decent Realtor and auction house to handle the sales?

Happy Hump day...

Drinking first cup of coffee. 57° with partly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 75° with mostly sunny skies. Almost forgot that yesterday was my sister birthday. Spent most of the day helping her celebrate her 70th. Not much planned for today because of late night out on the town.
Hope all in the south are safe.
Drew, best to make sure you are purchasing correct additive for your diesel. I would also suggest that you check with your supplier on what additives they put in your fuel. Most of the concerns with water relate to modern engine high pressure fuel systems. Water will destroy the pump and injectors. I put additives in as I am filling my equipment. That way fuel is getting the additive needed for current conditions. Use filters only on your storage tank, no additives. Filter out water and small participles. Keep a couple of spare filters on hand.
Where is txdon?
Good Morning.

49 this morning and headed to 31 today. 1.5 inches of rain over night. Up to 2" of snow forecast.

Plans for today are to take care of birds and then get oil changed in truck. Get tractor ready to go back to dealer. In need of the 50 hour service and have a hydraulic leak for them to look at on the remotes.

Good Morning. 0800, mostly cloudy, 60F with 61% humidity. Forecast high of 61F with 20% chance of rain today, and a low of 43F tonight. I haven't been outside yet, but it looks like we got through the late night storms without damage {other than the trashcan getting blown over}. Although today is house cleaning day, I need to find time to get some pepper and tomato plants transplanted from trays into cups this morning. No more room under the lights, so they will be going outside. Still thinking there will be at least one more frosts, so I will put them in my subterranean greenhouse:eek:

You guys in the path of the storm be careful,

Happy Hump day...

When I am traveling I use a APP called Trip Weather on my iPhone. Another is Wandering Weather.
Sold my mothers house last year. Listed it as a regular home. Was in move in condition. Priced it to move. Lasted 3 day before we had a buyer. In the end that buyer failed getting a loan. Put back on market. Lasted 1 day before new buyer. Rest of sale went as it should. Closed the sale while we were traveling to AZ. Had a offer from an investor. Ridiculous offer that was less than 1/3 of what house sold for.
Find a good agent that will price the home properly to sell and not just a listing.

Well today should prove to be interesting. It is 36 now and heading down to 31. They have a monster storm on the books for today and we are right on the edge where it can be lots of snow or it will just head into Chicago and we will get little to none. So far the wind is screaming and it looks like we will get it. Wife went to work at 5:20am when it was still nice out there,,,,but she drove right into where it will be way worse. 50 miles to the north east.
Starting to look like today will be a good day to stay in and run the trains.
Nice subterranean greenhouse Larro Darro.
Have a good one.

Thanks for the tips on the weather apps. I'll take a look.

Already had one "helpful neighbor" try to introduce me to a Realtor who "was interested in the house for himself". I thanked him, but wondered how that couldn't be a conflict if interest. Have had a couple of other "investors" looking for a "project" as well. The adjacent property belongs to Mom's partner, and is currently on the market. That Realtor would love to get his hooks into the house as well, but he strikes me as one that would just put it in the MLS and blow it out at a low price just to get a quick commission. At least that was the "marketing plan" he outlined to me.

RNG. I'd hate to try and sell something from across the country. But if I had to then I'd want to know some people in the area and get recommendations from them. Not necessarily neighbors. But same county. Ask them to show you comps. Houses that are similar and have sold recently. You can then use these to price the house. Which is what they should do anyways.

A licensed real estate agent is just that. A Relator is a member of the National Association of Realtors. Just means they pay dues on top of the license. Maybe you already knew.

If you're going to auction the contents maybe a full auction is best. You can add a reserve if you want. Just watch commissions.

I use WeatherUnderground. Or on iPhone storm. Same app.

Good luck.

42.7F and light rain/mist ... high tomorrow is only supposed to be 36F and snow is in the forecast ... which should make seeing any fresh tracks around the house a whole lot easier, assuming we get some accumulation.

Found both an installation and a programming manuals for the alarm system yesterday on the internet. Need to study those a little more and will probably spend some time researching additional sensors that can be added to the system.

Also found the key for the box the alarm controller is in and dug into that.

Tested "Panic" mode ... both the inside and outside sirens are working. Need to relocate the inside siren, so any intruders aren't led directly to the controller box.

Will probably also spend some time seeing what's out there as far as LED light/tactical laser combos, and a mount for the 320.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day.

RS. I bought a box of these the other day. Am very impressed with how bright they are. If you need some added lights where you don't have power. They'd be a good short term option. Sam's Club

farmer,

These newfangled LED lights are pretty amazing, terms of the light output vs. power required.

We're pretty well lit up here, but I do have a couple of places that a few of those might be useful.

Thanks for the heads up.

The guys I read are medium to long range forecasters and deal mostly with the east coast. A good one to read is Larry Cosgrove on Twitter look to posts including Weather America which come out on Saturday. There are current weekly etc. if you have trouble let me know

Some sort of storm coming for March 04-11 not sure what just out there

Phone weather computer generated not too precise in my book no humans look at it to make adjustments prior to issuance

The 4th thru the 11th could be very interesting weather wise either big snows/ice or storms depending on setup. The low train keeps on coming until ElNino dies a slow death sometime this summer

RNG, I like Intellicast on my Android...good radar, forecasts, and provides visible and audible notifications in case of alerts like tornadoes. Been using their website for probably 15 years or more. Also, can't go wrong with basic NWS/NOAA access through browser.
