Sounds like everyone had a nice 4th, and the trips, even the long ones, were made safely. Yesterday's tritip came out really nice using a meat thermometer this time to get it to medium rare. Never had one quite that tender before, and it's a cut known for toughness. Used a rub I made up from garlic powder, salt, rosemary, smoked paprika, and chipotle powder. I think a bit of sugar would have fit right in, but it was still very nice.
Shopped a couple sales for new appliances this morning; the frig is acting up and the dishwasher does anything but. Flailed around for a couple hours reading about the various features, even in Consumer Reports magazine. But every one that would fit and had a nice feature set got enough bad reviews (mostly for poor reliability) that I just gave up. Guess I'll wait 'till one or the other goes belly up, as the devil you know is better than the one you don't.
Still had time to shoot some paint before it got too warm, and enough paint to cover not just the primered tank, but some really scuffed up mirror covers and side covers as well. In fact I still have one more coat to go on the side covers. The white I had on hand isn't a perfect match with that on the bike, but it's close enough and will look 1000% better than the way it was. And even better, I get to throw out a couple of cans and make more room on the shelves.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks!
