Need to pour second cup of coffee. 32ー with clear skies this morning. Heading to 73ー with lots of sun. Windows are clean on the outside. County has been coating road with Salt Brine for 3 days. That should keep windows clean for awhile. Wife will help with inside one day next week. House has 9" sills on all the windows. Loaded with nice things to look at.
Driving up to Port Huron to pickup Band Saw I bought last week.
Good Morning All.

So what kind of bandsaw did you buy Ron?

63 this morning and headed to 82 today. There are 3 days in the next ten without rain chances. So much for cutting hay the first of June.

The next chamber is warmed up and ready for the birds. So I c will open it up this morning. Then finish mowing around the chicken coops. Mowed house and barn yesterday so after I do drive today I'll be halfway done. Then back to the trusses. If I have time I really need to start loader bucket repairs. This winter's hay feeding did a number on it.

Drew. After all you have done to that place you have the ability to make your own. Just take your time and it'll come together. Besides it'll be a good learning experience for you. As my uncle has told me before. If it's been built before it can be built again. Good luck on the walkway. Looks good so far.

Dave hope your mother is recovering nicely and mends quickly

Yesterday was now only a bad memory. Worked on a small job so everyone could get off early to enjoy their long holiday weekend. What started off as a small job quickly turned off huge. Removed old asphalt skid loader sunk to frame. We figured it was a soft spot but after 3ft down and seven loads hauled off still no bottom. Now we are in a pickle.

Installed 15 tons of basketball sized stone (riprap). Then 15 tons of softball size stone (V-Dot number ones). Then compact but by now it's 6:30PM no quarries open and still soft so will have to wait until next week. Home owner was understanding but a dead loss for us. This driveway may have to sit for a month or more before it hardens up enough to repave. We have only had one other case of this in 13 plus years of working in this field.

Got home at 7:00PM packed up and left for shore got in at 2:20AM this morning

Veterans Day weekend please remember them and give thanks for their sacrifice and service past and present

Do you have artesian wells in that area? It may not ever dry out.

Good Morning, It is just hot here, no rain, and expect winds this afternoon, so no burn permit today. Maybe I will go out and see which saddles fit the new horses the best. Might even go for a ride. Lori is canning the veggies we grew in the garden. 5 gallons of Green Beans n pint jars... that should get us through the year. She is also putting up Mixed Veggies with lima's, corn, carrots, peas, and beans. I will help her shuck the corn and de-cobb it.

I like dandelions and most weeds for that matter. I keep some space mowed around the house for the dogs and mosquito control. I think Japanese beetles multiply faster in mowed grass areas than in tall weeds and grass.

I am stealing this one! LOL!

Be well,
David

I believe the subdivision builder years ago used this as a dump site plus locally if you find grey dirt that can be rolled into balls you are in trouble. Last one we did that was like this went down 12Ft. There are lots of caverns in our area due to limestone deposits but this one is not that. Beautiful day on the coast nice breeze and sunny high right in low 70s

Feel free :), but have to say it's true in my experience. Japanese beetles like mowed lawns and gardens. There were none here when we built our house when it was mostly trees, tall grass and weeds in the lane that never got mowed. A little mowing, planting veggies and flowers for eight years and now we have plenty of beetles.

Good to hear life is sweeter for you these days.
