I was finishing the last quarter of the field by the railway with the knapsack sprayer when I heard a distant voice calling. It was my wife calling me from the gate and although I couldn't hear the words clearly, that look told me she wasn't pleased with me. Somehow it had got to 7:30pm without me showing and she thought I must have had an accident with tractor or chainsaw as not only was I not home for tea without saying I'd be late, I wasn't answering my phone either. Pulled out the new phone and sure enough 4 missed calls, with call volume set to 0 :duh:
Julie had walked quite a way to find me and now I was now in deep dodo. It was a fair way for her to walk back too, however the Iseki was waiting not far away, so I suggested she drove it back. Now I have been trying to get her to drive this new machine for a while, but she has never shown interest before. This time she climbed in the cab without any protests and even managed a little smile at the surprise of sitting on the sumptuous air seat (a lot more comfy than the hard metal pan on the old Ferguson). After a little tuition, I set the "response" knob to slow and she drove home no problem. Full beaming smile by the time she climbed out and I was forgiven.
Her only complaint was that throttle was a little sluggish, set the response a little quicker next time.
I see lots of posts since yesterday morning, I will have to catch up later. It is dry at the moment, though forecast just said rain by this evening, with showers continuing for most of next week. I better get out now and make the most of it.
