Drew

You have the makings for a very nice shop!

Concerning your dust collection, may I suggest that you place your shop vacuum (or if you decide to upgrade to a dust collector) in with your compressor and control it by remote control using this Rockler Dust Collector Remote Switch and Transmitter Box | Rockler Woodworking and Hardware.

I have a remote on mine and I love it. Cuts way down on the noise while it's running since it will be in another room and the remote is very convenient.

If you aren't familiar with Grizzly https://www.grizzly.com you must get their catalog. I bought my 2 stage dust collector from them (among other things). Cool!

more good ideas. Easy to pipe the exhaust drain outside, but what's coming out is under high pressure so this could make a real mess...well, I don't want it on my shoes anyway so better to get it outside. I have plenty of hose, but when opened I have 120psi bleeding off, not sure garden hose would like that. I have better hose left over from my larger boat days. Basically smaller diameter heater hose. Unless I pull the pop off valve I suppose. But the point is stuff is blasting out that hose so I need it aimed somewhere there is nothing to mess up. Eg, not my lawn mower parked there...

Ok ok
I promise to blow it out often. Like voting, blow it out early and blow it out often. It's a nice compressor and my air tools are mostly new now so would be pretty dumb to rust them out prematurely.
Drew,

Might be the best $9 you'll ever spend - will drain it every time the compressor runs:

Good day to everyone. 70s this morning with a band of heavy storms headed this way. Finished the turkey Taj Mahal, which sits next to Cluckingham Palace. Not sure if we should call that area Fowlerville or COOPerstown.

Went to CCallahan's in Austin and bought 2 Royal Palm and 2 Chocolate chicks. Birds settled in and doing fine.

Got a few hours of mowing in after all tha. Planned to mow more today, but that may not happen with more rain on the way. Perhaps some reading.

RNG,

Looks good

From what I've heard PPG is good stuff ... so I would think it should hold up well.

68 this morning and headed to 85 today. Over 2 inches of rain yesterday. More headed our way today. Ended up going to harbor freight and Home Depot last night. The Harbor Freight stop was for their 12" sliding miter saw for 139.99. Wife found some new solar lights for the walk. We bought some from lowes 5 years ago and the half that aren't broke at the base are starting to stop working. So she asked about trying these. Then onto Home Depot for fire extinguishers. Insurance company said that in ordered renew this year I had to have fire extinguishers in each poultry barn and the generator shed. So I added one for the shop and house also. Had a small one in the kitchen but this ones more capable. While at HD I showed my wife their 12" sliding miter saws. Running about $599. She was happy I was trying the Harbor Freight one.

Off to finish getting ready for birds today.

Good Morning. 0925, sunny, 78F with 80% humidity. Forecast high of 88F with 50% chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, and a low of 69F tonight. I had to go help the customers with the sound system in the middle of my post. The temp went up 2F and the humidity went down 2% while I was gone. My 10 day forecast calls for 1 thunderstorm, 2 partly cloudy's and 7 chances of thunderstorms. If I get a little on half those days I'll be happy.

I got in from work yesterday with enough daylight left to let me apply Sevin Dust to my garden. The showers skipped us, so it should kill a few bugs before it gets washed off.

I have a black church group at work today. That means I had better go easy on the snacks because dinner will very good. With out any garden cardio it will be hard to stay under my calorie goal today.

Hope everyone has a good day,

Larro

This is for Farmer2009: Mozart, probiotic feed, and neon blue lighting for the chicken house. :) Mozart-loving chickens may answer quest for healthier nugget | NewsDaily

Dave that was an interesting read. For what it's worth we've been antibiotic free for almost 2 years. Birds have been on vegetarian feed over 3 years. This means no blood or bone meal mixed with feeds. We have the ability to use antibiotics if the birds get sick and it's required to save the animals. But you will be surprised at what we can do with copper sulfate and citric acid. As well as a simple vitamin pack and vinegar.

When our birds are caught all lights are turned off. The birds just sit down. Each crew member wears a headlamp with a red or blue bulb in it. Chickens can't see well in those lights so they move very little. But the crew can see what they are doing.

Tyson isn't the first company to make the switch. Being the number 1 producer of poultry in this country they will be the biggest. :).

Good morning! 68˚ raining - feeling like Hawaii with this rain every day. We are in a flash flood Warning yet agin. The only day to mow was yesterday and I was out and about getting boots.

Ron, the rattlesnake youtube was testing the snake boot -one- about a minute into it the guy takes the ballon out of the boot and puts his foot in. He goes into the rattlesnake pit and irritates the snakes untill he get multiple strikes on the boot. The problem is that he does not have a snake boot on his OTHER foot.

I'd say that is worth a lot. Sounds great to me.

Glad you enjoyed the article.

I didn't know that any livestock producers were going antibiotic free. I guess that's good news, we really need those things to be effective, and overuse lets the bugs get a leg up on us. Now if only we reduced the meds we are taking...

Good evening all. 66F this morning breezy and cloudy. Was supposed to have rained today, but the thunderstorms just died as they were approaching. Church and working on weeding through stepson's stuff.

Forecast was right, it is wet today. That's ok with me, I have plenty inside to catch up on.

I've been inspired by various dolly projects (no, not the blow up kind) and bought a few castors to have a play with.

RNG : Everyone can grow rocks so, sorry, plain stones can't count in the "look what I found in this hole" game - unless they are funny shapes.

Txdon : So that's what snake boots look like. How about a full suit of armour. Camera phone would be lower down my list of things-to-take-with-me-outside than a pump action shotgun.

Farmer : Please do keep telling us about the chickens, it's interesting.

Larro : Barefoot snake jumping  That image is always going to be with me each time I see a melon.

B7510HSD : Congrats on making it to retirement. Have you got many things lined up to do that you never had time for before ?

RS : They say sheep can recognise different humans. Give them some food and they soon stop running away. Give them food often and you become their best friend ever - except on the days when you have no food, then they gang up and frisk you to make sure.

Drew : That is shaping up to be quite some workshop. Will you be painting the walls ? Easy to spray while it's empty, though not sure if that green would work in there.
