Good morning all.

We're looking after our 4 year old grandson today and he's an early riser - the moon is still out shining over the fields.
Don't think I'll get much work done today, just a quick look around the sheep, fill the hay racks and then I get to play with Ben all day.

A balmy 56 degrees here with temps dropping all day into 40's, very windy, wind chimes singing like mad.
You folks up North, stay warm. Deerseeker, now I know why Lands End sells those coats for arctic weather; you sure have it there. Brrrrrr. Lot of tractor engine heaters plugged in I'm sure.

going to be a busy day. Carpeting folks come in and I have a problem with their boss; he doesn't order enough carpet and the guys had to do excessive patching in the den. Not in the LR; going to tell them no go from the beginning. I knew there was a problem when not one piece of leftover carpet existed; there always is and I put those little pieces away for stain repair later if needed. I sure hope they brought enough and I'm calling the boss first thing this morning to make sure of it. Woke up at 2am and started worrying about the stupid carpet. Sigh.

36 right now which is also the high today. Looks like a steady cooling to 23 (as the daytime high) then dropping to 1 degree tonight.

It's been cold here in Utah. The last few days has been in the teens and low 20s for highs. At the moment it is 34 degrees, a regular heat wave. As you can see from my avatar, I am hoping for more snow. (none in the forcast, :thumbdown

13F @ 05:15 ... looks like we got a little dusting of snow overnight.

It's dropped 9F degrees since I woke up @ 01:00 ... was 67F here in the house ... stove was down to coals only so I threw 4 or 5 pieces of wood on the fire and got it cranked up.

Managed to get the MMM hosed off and cleaned and the boom pole and shrub bucket moved from in front of the house up to the shop before I pooped out yesterday. Also got the hose reel moved inside and did some grading on the driveway.

Supposed to help my young friend take down more trees today ... also supposed to go over to the fab shop with U.B. to see if we can score some H-beam.

About out of split wood ... so I'll have to do some of that as well. My right elbow is really wanting me to get this splitter done.

These were about 10" diameter - yep, twigs for Texas too, but just a tad too fat to get through the stove door.

LOL ... good comeback ... :thumbsup:

Since I have a larger WBS I cut the logs about 20" if they were shorter an axe would do.

Makes sense to me ...

I do have to say that stove looks to be a real piece of artwork ... beautiful unit. Good luck in your quest for dead oak.

I tried to get the wife to go with one of those electric splitters here a few weeks ago - reading the reviews they seemed pretty positive ... but she wouldn't bite ...

The idea of splitting in the warm basement, next to the stove seemed kinda appealing to me ... but hey, I'll stick with the gas-driven hydraulic unit if I have to ... I have most of the stuff to finish it, except for the H-beam ...

I had the darn thing nearly built before someone decided to steal the frame for it off the property ...

28F high gusty winds now,highs maybe 1 more degree than sliding downwards low teens.
The snow clean up good w/ tractor,no so good w/snow shovel...whew.
Last 2 1/2 weeks be on vacation today first day back have feeling going to be long day.

40 crawling up to 43 and windy. Never got a real rain yesterday as forecast, but last night had a couple of strange 5 second downpours as the wind whipped through.

Welcome cat fever, and best wishes for snow. We only got 22 total inches here last year.

Good Morning! 31˚ here and 72˚ inside with a good bed of coals still glowing from my 3am loading. Getting up to 48˚ today.

I need to take down about 1000ft of barbed wire fence today and put up about 200ft of hog fencing around my wild plum patch. Those feral hogs are causing me work.ig:

24F, that's today's high they say. Temps sliding down the rest of today and tonight to below zero. Windy & sunny.

Darn cold out this AM. 63 yesterday, 22 this AM. Spent last night in the e/r. Was working on the electric fence, slipped, dropped some rods, one smacked me in the mouth. Teeth went through below my lower lip. Pallet got scrapped pretty good too.

18 this morning and headed for 25 today. Have a windchill of 10 currently. Lows of 0 by midweek weatherman says coldest air since January 7, 2014 when it was -7. Back to the chicken coops today getting ready for a new flock. Have to have heat on by Wednesday to get floor temps up.

Poured first cup of coffee. 47° with mostly clear skies this morning. Heading to 68° with lots of sun. Wife needs to be taken shopping today. Home town team (LIONS) started out with a good game. Then fell short. Guess the best team won.
