I have some snow clearing to finish up with the tractor this morning.

39 this morning. It was 65 at midnight. Temps going to wrong way. But it is December. 80% chance of rain today. The freezing rain advisories are off to the west. Maybe they will stay there.
Really need rain to hold off a couple of hours. Must get old bull separated and ready to ship tomorrow. Got new bull last week and it's time for him to go meet the ladies.

Morning all!

Belated Happy Thanksgiving to all, I had my girls Thursday noon until Friday 6pm, and then I had a second thanksgiving with friends which turned out to be all the college kids home for the holiday crashed in my basement laughing and adult beverage thing. The moonshine helped me to sleep in Sunday, after feeding the college kids, cleaning up, did some shopping with a good friend for fancy clothes for a Christmas party, watched a little of the Colts kicking the 'Skins rear over a late lunch and then came home to a major issue with my wood-stove that I will document in a new thread...

Be well guys & gals. Healing for Drew's neck, an all of the rest of your pains in the neck as well.

Good morning all. 24F this morning and 35 deg colder than yesterday with .3 in freezing rain . mostly cloudy light breeze high of 32F. Cat has to go back to vet. diarrhea back already. Have modify the cabinet above the fridge for the new fridge.

That's not nice. I can't believe the way your area keeps getting hammered by the cold.

Driving home Saturday night we passed through a couple nearby low areas that were 8F, but it was 19F at home. We live about half-way down a long slope that drains the cold air sometimes.

It seems the older I get the lower my threshold for cold gets. It used to be that 25 or 30 below was no big deal but now a damp 45 degrees has me with my hood up and knees knocking.

My tolerance for cold weather has gotten worse. But on the other end. I cannot tolerate the heat like I use to. My body wants temperatures between 65ｰ and 75ｰ. Does anybody know where I can find that kind of weather year around?

Not here. This current year ranged 58 to 83. Only a handful of times at either end.

Ron...you already have the temp you want by spending half the year up north in the cold and the other half down south in the warm. Averaged out, it's lukewarm perfect.
Next in line would be San Diego. Not much in the way of farms or tractors, however.

six dogs you took the words out of my mouth. San Diego has remarkably nice weather year round. And a whole lot of sailors.
and sorry guys, it was 70 degrees here today but going back down tomorrow. Somebody mentioned the roller coaster, yup.

Doc looked at me today, prodded me until she knew what hurt where and sent me out for another cervical xray. Got that done and came home to see the tile guys finishing up in the kitchen. What an improvement, even with wet grout.

Tomorrow morning I buy insurance with a glee that I have never had before. Medicare. My BC/BS just went to 1209 dollars a month for just me and will now drop to about 300 per month next March. My independent agent can sign me up for the extra coverages needed plus educate me on anything different for NC. Is this what they mean about the "golden years", where you now have money to take trips instead of paying huge amounts for health insurance?

David/Sodamo, your rainfall amounts are just amazing. Multiply by seven or eight to get inches of snow.
Would be like living on an Alpine pass. Instead, you live on a tropical mountain. Unless you are an avid snow skier,

Was only supposed to get to 67 today, but hit 76 this afternoon.

Time to celebrate - finished spraying stain on the last 2 walls today. Sprayer winterized, and stored away. A little trim left to do by hand, but otherwise, finally finished. This project has been my primary focus since July...17 gallons of stain, 34 tubes of caulk, and it seems like miles of frogtape and enough plastic to wrap all of Dave's rocks that he moved.

Now what will I do? Plenty. Never seems to end. But tomorrow, it's no ladders.

The temps hovering around 43˚. Just so Ron would not miss all the cold weather I took him for a ride in the no windshield golf cart. Going into the wind (calculating the wind chill factor) I think we almost simulated the Michigan high temps for today.
