36 right now...which looks like that's about as warm as it's going to get all day.
It also looks like the accumulation prediction has increased to a total of 6 to 10 inches by Thursday morning. The drive home this afternoon ought to be interesting...

0435 update: Now it's predicted between 8 and 13 inches of snow by Thursday morning...I guess we'll know how much we actually get tomorrow morning.

37 now and we will be into full rain / snow whatever by around 11 am
Have to finish wiring up the tractor and getting the weather break on and we will be ready for either blowing or plowing the stuff.

37 this morning and raining pretty hard. Supposed to change to snow later but only slushy variety. Snow showers on tap for tomorrow. Looks like north of here will be the snow total winner. Be safe and happy Turkey day. Traveling later today off to sunny south for a long weekend.

Good Morning

44 and dropping the rest of the day. We may see some snow start to mix in with this rain after lunchtime.

Roy, sorry to see so much snow heading your way so early in the season.

Safe travels, all.

35F calm and quite before nasty storm arrives, high temp what we are feeling now.
Heard two forecast min 6" max more than enough, fingers cross its not going to be that heavy snow.

Went by 2 tire shops last evening, hard to believe people wait until the last mins have snow tires put on...2 or 3 day waiting line.
Enjoy the day all.

57 degrees in light rain, that's the high for today, more rain this morning, though it looks like it might slide off to the West. Got about an inch last night, though the local Wunderground reports seem a bit different than where I am.
am sure there will be 8 gazillion leaves on the ground now. Maybe 9.
Need to go pick up a house present flower for my sister in law today, good rainy day errand.

tile guys laying tile in the kitchen finally. I had to stop the job and get them to remove the backer board in one area and relevel the floor with self leveling compound to eliminate a high spot in the kitchen floor.
there is an overriding craftmanship mentality here, sadly, with the Mexican subcontractors, to do the job fast and then cheerfully fix anything the homeowner doesn't like. I call it the " si si me fix" syndrome. Apparently it is more economical for the installers to operate this way and everyone has driven the cost of installing down so the whole level of quality has dropped. Pretty sad actually. Well I said no, yes yes you fix. Actually my guy is pretty fluent, most are not. And I had a long talk with the tile guy up front about both craftsmanship and artistry in laying out the different shades of tiles. He got it. But he was all set to lay tile right over a high spot and luckily I caught it. So while he understands the "get it right the first time" with the trees (tiles) he doesn't seem too good with the forest(leaving a room wide hump in the floor...)
Needless to say, he leaves when I leave tomorrow; he isn't laying tile without me there to "consult". Too hard to fix...

this weather system is still pulling water out of the Gulf and sending it North so lots more to come.

Oh, I'm OK with it...the drive home (about 50 miles) will probably be a PITA....but it is a holiday tomorrow, so not as much rush to clear the drive and walks.

we all have to remember that this is almost a "nothing" to the hardy folk up North. Like two or three inches of rain is nothing to David/Sodamo.
Unlike my neighbors, Roy knows how to drive in snow. The problem usually is people sliding at you when you just can't get out of their way.

You should have seen the odd look I got when I asked the local Michelin tire store about putting on a set of Michelin X-Ice snow tires on my Avalon, thinking I might drive that to my brother's instead of the truck. Uh, they only sell them "over in the mountains". Ok. No snow tires for the coastal plain. Thank goodness for tirerack.com
what I really have to do is try out the truck in snow and see how bad it is. The tires have a nice all weather pattern but duallies are usually pretty bad in snow. I put five hundred pounds of play sand in the back yesterday. My that helped the ride nicely. wonder where I'll build my beach in the Spring with the sand. Actually should just get the plastic sand bags into heavy garbage bags and put them away for next year.
Instead of 4 wheel High which I'm used to, my selector says 4 wheel Locked. That could mean a lot of things so probably ought to read the manual. Locked suggests not driving too fast for sure.

is it me or is the site having problems? Lots of double posts, I just was thrown out. Happened yesterday too.
